Lauren actually did a great job at making it actually relatable for older fans. Even though both MLP and Pokémon are glorified commercials, MLP does a better job. I was enjoying as I normally do, but mid-way through the removing of sins, I started tearing up cos I was reminded of how special and perfectly not-perfect the fandom is. It'll never be as great as it once was, but I count myself lucky to have been there to experience the final golden year of fan support. MLP has so many flaws, but I'm still just as in-love with it and my fellow bronies as I was when I first found it in the summer of 2015. (Tfw you realize that Friendship is Magic is almost as old as the Marvel Cinematic Universe)
