It would be so cool if there was a room in your tarrey town house that let you display all the useless trinkets you collect from quests like the well globe, hestu's gift and all of the medals.
20:50 she doesn't, the time travel is clearly deterministic. The light Dragon was always there, but was hiding in the sky. That's how Ganondorf knows Link and Zelda at the start, she didn't alter the past, as it already happened with her in it.
what about the geoglyphs? those clearly weren't there in breath of the wild. and it is stated in some totk lore that those were drewn around the tears themselves by some ancient race long long ago (atleast from what i remember).
@@fubjuiceI like to imagine that Zelda created a time paradox by traveling to the past and changing things. But a more simple answer would be that the game devs didn't think this all through...
I'm too certain that's the case anymore. On the official Zelda timeline shown recently at an event, the two games are not connected. Also, certain changes in the terrain cannot be explained away with the passing of a few yeras, such as entire caves springing up where no such caves existed before. It's entirely possible that Zelda traveling back in time split the timeline and ToTK is separate from BotW.
This time travel logic is also described in Harry Potter. There’s a scene where dementors are closing in on Harry Potter and his friends, and they’re saved by what seems to be a white stag. But then, after coming to himself after, he uses a time turner to go back in time to save himself and his friends from dementors by creating a Petronius that resembles a stag. It’s the same kind of time paradox.
The thing is Zelda took the scenic route back to the future, so if she was a dragon this whole time then how did she contain the calamity in BotW? If she was a dragon this whole time how did Link save her at the end of BotW? The calamity is something that definitely happened and was dealt with as explained at Hateno's school. I do believe there must have been some kind of timeline split
37:51 I feel like literally no one knows there’s another bed Link can sleep in freely, even if you don’t count the one in lookout landing. In Zora’s domain at the location where you talk to Sidon in BotW to initiate ride-on-Sidon-shoot-shock-arrows-at-Vah-Ruta, there is a random bed nearby, and Link can freely sleep in it. It’s in both BotW and TotK. Still think they moved in together though.

20:10 Though it's not 100% certain, we have a pretty good guess on Zelda's last name through King Rhoam's full name of Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. Yes, that does mean Zelda's full name is Zelda [Insert middle name] Hyrule but that's the best we have for now.
@@314Marvin It's the same as Charles Wales, which the King of the United Kingdom was officially enlisted as during his military service. It's silly, but it actually has precedent in real life.
The Goddess Statue one at 12:25 is actually not entirely correct. The Gloom dispersal occurs every time you BEGIN interacting with a Goddess statue, it doesn't reoccure if you continue the dialog. But if you pray at a statue for stamina or a heart container, and then quit the dialog, and interact with the statue again, you will see the gloom animation again!
It's not an alternate timeline. The mural is still there in the beginning of the game, and Ganondorf already knows who Zelda and Link are before she travels back in time. It was always fated to happen.
Plus, people don't seem to understand that it happened like 7 years after calamity ganon and all the events from Bot, of course the light dragon didn't appear at BotW because Zelda was stopping calimity Ganon with her power in the sanctum
@@elliot_rat maybe in the same way the dragons light enemies up in their respective element, perhaps when dragon zelda descended it started rewinding some of hyrule
@@riolu4773oh this is an INTERESTING thought. in the same way that the other dragons emit fire, ice, and lightning, the light dragon literally emits time, with the time travel causing a stable loop, hence why ganondorf knows them at the start of the game, but the time energy she emanates warping hyrule as the cloud barrier dissipates and she loops around the map.
fun fact: to my knowledge, there are 4 lightroots that arent exactly below their shrine counterparts on the surface - the three labyrinth lightroots, and the kawakarut lightroot in the west. my best guess as to why that lightroot isnt directly under its shrine counterpart is that the shrine on the surface is on the edge of a pond, meaning that the area directly under it would be surrounded, if not inside, impassable wall.
There's a couple light roots under shrines that're near rivers/lakes, and those light roots have small pockets of air around them. Heck, the one under Lake Hylia has an entire tunnel connecting it to the nearby island's chasm. My guess is that it's the maze's chasm itself that gets in the way.
Listen, I need the light root medal, because I was convinced that I’d found them all at least three times only to not get it, signaling to me that I had missed another AGAIN. That medal is my friend. It lets me finally rest
I'm a completionist so I would get it anyway but I wish it did literally anything than sit in inventory. Like wear it, show it off, light-roots purge gloom faster...
I missed a single light root SO SMALL i had to be in that area and fully zoomed in on the map to just barely see it. So it depends on what light root you need...@ianweston310
Graves in Japan are not dug into the ground, they are built out of stone, and generally only have a compartment for ashes, which have had the bones picked out. So the Rowan grave makes perfect sense from a Japanese perspective.
42:36 We don't know who transformed into these dragons. There's no reason to think it was the goddesses specifically who have been the most abstract beings in the whole series. Zelda transformed into a light dragon, Ganondorf a dark dragon, these could perfectly have been sages or some sort of mages with a penchant for a specific element. In fact a stronger suggestion is that the new elemental tunics in TOTK belonged to these individuals.
There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest the 3 dragons are draconified like Zelda was. They're explicitly stated to have served Hylia since ancient times, given they are attendants of the springs they are either reincarnations of the SS Dragons or an entirely unique set of dragons that also fall under Hylia's command. The outfits are explicitly used in worship of the dragons, they mimic them they did not become them.
@@infiniteedge4427 I don't suggest this must be the case, but in the context of this game it doesn't seem far fetched that like two other dragons we've witnessed, the other three likely were people at some point. Zelda and Ganondorf keep some of their traits once transformed (Zelda's thin face, blonde hair and light "skin" / the Demon King's red hair, massive build and dark "skin"). The other three have a snout, mane and scales that remind of Rauru and Mineru. It could just be an esthetic connection (beings close to the goddesses may share traits like the longer ears), or some Zonai could have transformed, or who knows maybe the Zonai are descendants from dragons. The game never says whether anyone else draconified but that goes both ways, descriptions only mention that the tunics they were used in ancient rituals and that the dragons are from "ancient times", which leaves room for anything. The dragons could have been divine manifestations at any point, or people who worshiped previous dragons or Hylia herself, or something else entirely.
@@mkjjoe The Zonai have no connection to Hylia, yet the dragons do, furthermore the outfits show us the Zonai worshipped the dragons, This is contradictory to the idea of Draconification being a forbidden act that goes against the Zonai's culture, why would the Zonai worship the draconified if such an act was repulsive enough to them that it was forbidden? furthermore the Zonai are only shown to have had 7 stones upon descending into Hyrule, this means there can't be more than 7 after the Zonai made contact. the dragons do not resemble rauru & mineru in the slightest, people are taking vague animalistic features and attributing them to everything.
@@infiniteedge4427 I don't see why we'd conclude any of that, my point is that it's all open as of now. We don't know why the Zonai would / wouldn't worship draconified people and forbid the act. Maybe it's blasphemy to take a stone for oneself without merit or a sacred duty, maybe it's more about losing one's mind. Who said the Zonai have no connection to Hylia? The mural depicts 7 that Rauru is known to have access to, that doesn't mean there weren't others at another point and as implied by Zelda and then Ganondorf, Rauru's ancestors visited the surface before him. The ancient dragons could have been from any time. As for the physical similarities it's one thing to be skeptical but to pretend there's no resemblance at all seems a bit much, again why close off a possibility when the connection is so easy to make. And the overall theme of the dragons and Zelda/Ganondorf looking the way they do as dragons, I don't see how you'd skip that. But so be it.
@@infiniteedge4427 I don't think we can confidently say the Zonai have NO connection to Hylia. It's possible the dragons were Sages that served Hylia before swallowing their stones and becoming dragons, possibly when she died sealing Demise away as The Imprisoned. The Sacred Stones aren't necessarily connected to the Zonai either except that Rauru got hold of several and gifted them to his closest allies as Sages. They weren't necessarily created by the Zonai and could have existed far longer for all we know. But the fact that Recall, a time-based power, is specifically tied to Sonia and Zelda, who are supposed to be of Hylia's bloodline, there is at least SOME connection since Hylia herself is associated with time-based powers like in Skyward Sword.
19:30 the Light Dragon remained in the heavenly realm above the clouds waiting for Link until it descends in the cutscene after Link sends the Master Sword back in time at the Temple of Time
@@Nilon241 well she didn’t create them, she revealed them upon her return. They were created by ancient Hyruleans who saw visions when they touched the dragon’s tears.
The eyes on the wall appear to move because the pupil is set back in the eye socket. It's the same way Disney creates the affect in the Haunted Mansion. You can test it yourself. It's a fun project. Just take a Styrofoam cup, cut off the bottom (leave about half an inch), and then draw a dot in the middle. Leave it on its side, on a table, and then walk around it. Look at the dot. It will look as though it is turning with you.
@TheTonyExpress a fun thing to do with the kids make haunted paintings around halloween. You buy the canvases with the wood frames around them. Paint a face. Cut out the eyes. And then put something behind the eye holes that sit and draw pupils. I like using egg cartons because they are the right shape. You just have to glue, or otherwise attached the egg carton pieces behind the eyes.
For the Ganondorf mural fact, I'm pretty sure the eyes are concave. Concave eyes are an optical illusion that makes it look like the eyes of the painting or carving are moving and following you around. Another example in a video game is Shara Ishvalda in Monster Hunter World, who's inspired by Hindu artwork which commonly uses concave eyes. Also, just because Age of Calamity isn't canon doesn't mean the Royal Claymore isn't a reference to it. Besides, while the events are non-canon, the characters are still very much their same original selves, so we can assume that King Rhoam did have an affinity for royal claymores in-lore, unless Nintendo specifically states othrwise.
The title screen change is triggered by completing the 5th sage's questline, during which the 5th sage explained the history of the murals in great detail. None of the other quests' completion are required to trigger this change. I tested this out months ago and I'm very proud of it.
The most absurd item I could find to fuse is the sand seal statue behind the gerudo town throne room. It’s only movable due to the fact you can access the shelter through it, but I was surprised to see it could fuse considering most miscellaneous items used for quests could not fuse.
WAIT. If the light dragon spilt the dueling peaks mountain into two peaks that would mean that SOMEHOW Zelda's consciousness broke through and influenced her dragon form to create a path that she knew would benefit Link for the events of BotW. SHE LITERALLY CARVED A SAFE PATH FOR HIM TO REACH KAKARIKO.
I climbed to the top of the sky dive challenge(where you start diving) before speaking to the zonai robot to start the challenge. He recongnized my bravery to scout ahead first.
0:51 that’s a real optical illusion people use in relief carvings like this! It’s done by carving the irises deeply into the eye, so when you move, you can still see them and it makes it seem as though the carving is watching you. Cool detail, I never noticed it being used there in-game!!
The ganon mural thing at 0:51 is a trick commonly used for masks. The eyes are actually concave, which is what gives the illusion that they’re following your movement.
Man, this really makes me sad that TotK isn’t getting DLC. I mean, I totally understand why, it makes total sense, but what I wouldn’t give for a nice hearty DLC pass…
22:13 wait what? Is this considered obscure? Is this footage from Reddit the only thing that exists of this online? Basically, what I can say is that the full mural appeared for me once I completed the Dragon's Tears quest, which makes sense as two of them depict scenes only seen in memories. I liked watching the whole thing after a play session. What I would find rarer and unexplained would be that sometimes, the title screen would show a completely black mural at random, with only the wall pillars remaining. To my knowledge, this is an inconsistent bug, and it is similar to another one showing a completely black map after you exit to the main menu sometimes.
10:25 As someone currently grinding for lizalfos tails, this is not a useless fact. Also if you're using your sensor+, it will beep on the spot even if it's currently the daytime where the lizalfos are hidden underground.
Lol i know, i was gonna comment on that in the voice-over with a slow zoom over to him, but chose to focus on the spedup footage of link running back and forth. Good catch!
21:35 they all do that. The Master Sword glyph in particular can go wayyyy out of the play area with the right zoom and it irritates the hell out of me lol
Yeah, it's because the glyphs on the map screen stay the same size regardless of how much you zoom in or out. They're only truly to scale when fully zoomed in.
Thanks for continuing this series! The comparison of tower launch heights was interesting, and that Zelda-bass edit can't be unseen. 7:56 In addition to the Great Plateau shrines, there is also another Zonai shrine that can be seen for a brief moment in the "Birth of the Demon King" cutscene down in Gerudo Canyon at the exact spot where the Jee Noh shrine appears in BotW. There definitely seems to be some kind of deliberate connection between the Sheikah shrines and the original Zonai shrines. 34:01 I was also very confused at first about why the shirt wasn't obtained before the game's title was played, but I think they wanted to ensure Link was shirtless for his first skydive in order to make a parallel with his last one in the game's finale. It also may have been to help teach the idea that individual armor pieces are found by exploring different caves.
glad you like the series and the bass pic. Yes, I believe there was originally a zonai shrine on the great plateau in each spot where we found a zonai shrine/chasm in botw/totk. There's def a connection on the gp, but I've only found two spots on the map (so far) where there's a shrine in the exact same place between games. One set was near the Riverside stable in hyrule field, and the other is inside a giant hallowed tree east of the castle on crenel hills which i'll be talking about in my next hyrule comparisons video
6:44 That's not invisible ground; that's the ceiling of the Depths. Almost all of the collision in this game is two-sided, but the textures usually aren't two-sided unless you're _meant_ to see both sides (this is an example of "backface culling", if anyone's interested).
54:35 You can defiantly grab a schema stone before acquiring auto build, you just need to explore areas out of order/ I believe the Aerial cannon is the one I found before acquiring auto build but this should work with anything.
23:27 That has some CRAZY technical implications and I don't believe i didn't notice this earlier, it speaks volumes about how they achieved that effect
this is the sort of "waste of time" i like to do. this info would be useless to those who don't care for this sorta stuff, or aren't fans of Zelda series etc, but my god did i enjoy my time.
For the fact about the king’s grave Why does age of calamity being non canon have anything to do with it being referencable?? It’s pretty clearly an AoC reference. BotW and Totk reference tons of past Zelda games despite their dubious canonicity to the BotW and totk timeline, It’s fine lol
Making a reference doesn't necessarily mean it's confirming anything specific, other than Rhoam using a claymore. I personally feel like AoC should be treated as a canon Zelda game that take place in its own splinter timeline. But things like character traits, locations, and certain events in AoC were based on BOTW's creative notes and the game itself was closely monitored by Nintendo staff. Fujibayashi and Aonuma were both supervisors on the game and had to give approval on a lot of aspects. I wouldn't be surprised of Aonuma was asked if Rhoam could be a claymore specialist and liked the idea enough to make it canon.
If there’s ever a TotK sequel, I hope it brings back the twilight or something. Maybe underwater exploration and more sky islands as well! There could be 9 dungeons and could be more linear. I’d love to see the city in the sky to return!
I would love a plot point about the Twili needing a new home and moving into the Depths. Could be a good opportunity to explore some missing sages; who better for a Sage of Shadow than a Twili?
34:20 duuuuude, yes! The first time I played TotK I spent like 30 minutes running around that damn area looking for the chest for the shirt in it. I was convinced I missed it somewhere. You are not the only one, friend.
I didn't because this actually happened to me in BotW when finding the Hylian trousers on the Great Plateau. I was convinced there must be a Hylian shirt or something nearby. Learning that there wasn't taught me to be patient in the second game so I wasn't worried when I couldn't find the tunic right away.
I think the character flaws and traits are canon but the events themselves are not. I don't know why people say the entire game is just tossable when the lore building of the world and characters can be built upon.
0:56 it’s an effect used in lots of things like haunted houses, movies, games, cosplays, ect. Called “Follow-me eyes” where due to the sunken eyes they appear to follow you around a room
does anyone find it weird how there isn’t a Rito Paraglider Fabric when ritos are the ones who can fly and tulin flies with you when you have the paraglider out? strange
36:14 you can also use fans on those hovering platforms to reach the recall shrine. I'm doing a no teleport run and I made it up there in under 10 min.
Hey Tony, I just discovered that as far as the schema stone description goes, if you do manage to gain a schema stone through illegitimate means, you do get the text used in the "unused" description. I found this out by playing the randomizer, and just now I got a schema stone, but I don't quickbuild, and it gave me that description
21:07 THIS IS TRUE, mine does this and I have all sages, and all main quest lines done, not sure what triggered it but it is true that it shows Zelda turning into the dragon!!!
Have this funny headcanon that Link dresses as a Yiga member because he’s going ‘hunting’ for the jerk who decided to dress up as Zelda. He bluntly says as much to Purah, who is suddenly very concerned for the Yiga Clan… they tickled the sleeping ‘dragon’. I also headcanon that Link is slow to anger, despite his resting B-face. But Hylia save you when you do make him mad enough.
That effect you showed with the brightbloom seeds and the shrine entries can also give you a cool effect if you do the same above the emergency shelter.
For the opening screen one, I have the extra bits, I have got all the sages and I've beat the main story and got all the geoglyphs however, I have not 100 percented the game or got all the shrines.
Just found your video while searching for videos on TotK that aren’t people talking about how “bad” the game is and people who expect the game to be as ecstatically fun over a year after launch than it was on day one. If TotK was still as fun as it was on day 1 I wouldn’t have a job but I think some people just burned out on it. As a kid I remember thinking that I would get one new game like a new Zelda or a new Smash Bros and that THAT new game would ‘last me’ forever and I would never ever get bored of it. I think that’s what’s going on with some of these channels doing videos like that while there are other great critiques as well. I just want to hear people pander to my love of Zelda unapolegitcally and the dry wit here combined with the bits of lore and interesting mechanics isn’t what I was looking for but it’s also perfect for the late night wind down TotK content I’ve been browsing for. Subbed.
I like to think when the fire and ice lizalfos are out together, they are just vibing. Like, they are friends and its the one time where they can hang out, and when you come by one needs to get to work and the other one takes the cue to leave.
17:11 I would say that if anyone wants to hear the stakes play music they can do it themselves. I, personally, would enjoy another useless or practical information about totk
I def need to make more practical info videos. I think the useless series is complete for now, but will make more once the game has been out for a while longer to give time for more things to be discovered. I have some fun ideas for trying to play the stakes though, so I'm going to do some testing and see if it'll work ;)
With the mural eyes following you, that's actually an old artistic trick. The eyes are slightly recessed. I wish I remembered the name of the technique. It's an optical illusion that just makes it look like the eyes are following you.
The Ancient Hyrule Castle can actually be seen from the outside in the location above where the later Shrine of Resurrection would be in one of the memories. I forget which exactly, but it was one in the back area of the Temple of Time.
20:51 I don't think it's an alternate timeline because traveling in time doesn't always make new timelines. A good example is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where Harry and Hermione travel back in time and save Harry from dying in the past before going back to their present, therefore staying in the same timeline. As for the geoglyphs, they probably appeared in the same way that the Zonai Shrines reappeared. The Light Dragon was probably kept secret by the remaining Sages and lost to history.
Yeah, weren't both the Geoglyphs and the Light Dragon hidden before the Upheavel happened? I swear in the quest introducing you to Geoglyphs, Impa even mentions that they appeared recently.
@@wurtknurte7283 Yeah I've always felt like the it was the theorists overthinking it. Like, the Sheikah Towers were unknown of too, but that doesn't mean it was the result of some butterfly effect. Sometimes the explanations are rather mundane.
I'd always assumed the geoglyphs were dormant in the ground after so many centuries and the sky islands and light dragon were just high up in the sky where they weren't visible, and that the upheaval and Ganondorf awakening sort of reactivated them, causing the geoglyphs to come back to the surface and the sky islands and light dragon to come closer to the ground. The murals at the beginning of the game remain unchanged after Zelda travels back in time, so I thought this was an instance of time travel that was always meant to happen, and that Zelda going back to the past was a piece of history that had always happened, thus keeping to a single timeline
All the goeglyphs on the purah pad are oriented differently to on the actual map, the gravestone and master sword glyphs are the easiest I found to notice it on
Im at the point of nerdiness that I said "no tloz information is useless" aloud. Ill admit that I sat here for a few minutes to really wallow in the shame.
The thing about the dragons is a common misconception. They are divine spirits who work for the gods and can only be seen by those who are pure of heart, wherein they take the form of a dragon. There is no evidence to suggest that they are the result of Draconification, nor is Draconification ever suggested to be the only method by which dragons can exist.
@@maxenswlfr1877 Since it's a forbidden technique among the Zonai that few people even know about, it probably happened at some point before the Zonai even descended from the heavens. Any dragons resulting from Draconification will have remained there and cannot be found in the mortal realm. Zelda was told about it because it was relevant to her time travel situation, but besides that it was a secret that almost nobody was allowed to know.
@@Some-guy-on-the-internet And even if the dragons ARE the result of draconification, it's a huge leap to assume that the Golden Goddesses draconified into them. It's more likely to have been Sages who specifically acted as their mortal attendants. Even then, it's equally possible without further information that they're just dragons.
The things you laid out and the dragons being draconified beings don’t have to be mutually exclusive. The Light Dragon is referred to as spirit taking the form of a dragon too. I find it way more likely we’re seeing Draconified Zonai, due to the similar mammalian features, white hair, and glowing scaly beards. I know it’s not stated directly but why would they introduce two new dragons alongside the pre-existing three just to say that there is no connection? That would be silly.
8:05, Wait... If the shrines were indeed used to capture demons, and those shrines seem to have been destroyed, does that say something about the bargaining statues? Because of the eyes you find in those locations... Are the bargaining statues demons?
There's only one bargaining statue (it just got moved between games), and it's pretty clear that something is, indeed, trapped in it (that's what it talks about when you first meet it in both games). Although _what_ exactly is inside of it is still unclear.
@48:23 It would have been a neat detail if Zelda did put in actual photo album on the Purah Pad to reassure Link. Would have made for a neat side adventure, as you try and find all of the locations where Zelda took Selfies while traveling with Rauru, Sonia, and the sages only to see that they're either completely decrepit or just flat out gone. The dragon tears may have shown us the most important memories, but the album could have shown us a brief window into slightly happier times
at 39:22, ToTK's project name could be a referrence to it being a switch release. The Switch had a codename of "NX" before the official release, so that could be why ToTK's name is xKing. This goes in line with BoTW's naming of uKing as it was originally meant to be a Wii U release
22:36 after watching this I checked and I have the expanded mural but I'm not sure what the requirements are. I have beaten the game, gotten all 5 sages, and completed all main quests so I am assuming that is what it is but I do not know for sure
20:51 i really cannot understand how people can be so ignorant to think this is the case, im really sorry if you thought about this theory, but its just dumb when you replay the game, like, literally BEFORE zelda travels back in time, ganondorf knows them because of the events that take place in the past, zelda not appearing in the sky as a dragon is explained by just playing skyward sword and botw, since the dragons alongside the sky islands are above the cloud barrier and just like in skyward sword, the barrier is only visible from the sky and not from below, that's where the portal of the dragons in botw led to, this barrier gets destroyed by zelda herself once you complete the intro of the game after sending the master sword to the past in a cool cinematic; about the dragon tears, the marks of them weren't obviously planned for botw but the geogliphs appeared after ganon's resurection, they also were made by hylians after zelda throw them to the land, just like the last dragon tear doesn't have a geogliph
I just learned that if you visit Cece while wearing the Hylian hood she will ask you to take it off your head, thus giving you the option to wear the cape with hood up or down! Talking to her again will give you the option to put it on again.
For the 22:20 one. I’d guess its from getting all the cutscenes that show up in the memories tab. Pretty sure I got that for my game since I recall seeing them.
I'd imagine that with the chaging images on the title screen, it's probably tied to unlocking the memories. This is purely speculation and not based on any research or facts, but it would make the most sense to me.
I’d love to see a video doing musical covers with stakes! I’d like to request the first few notes of “F*cked with an anchor” by Alestorm, but if that’s too profane, maybe the chorus of “voyage of the dead marauder” also by Alestorm
If I remember correctly from what I heard in other videos the “lava” in ToTK at 6:16 is where the campfire is in the quest just before clearing the storm before spirit temple
At 23:07 you talk about the murals going by and seeing only a few, out of curiosity I booted up my game and just waited as they cycled through, eventually the ones hidden by the wall popped up. I currently have all 5 sages and have yet to beat the game or even enter the depths under Hyrule Castle to reveal the rest of them. Maybe you only need the sages? Or maybe it’s just a random thing, either way, cool detail I figured I’d share.
57:33 THATS WHAT THOSE WEIRD CIRCLES ARE FOR???? I’ve always been so confused about how occasionally while flying through the sky I’d see a blue or yellow circle thing suddenly appear on screen. I never realized those were just there to let me know I’m entering or exiting a low gravity zone.
Fun fact about 17:37 you need not the full armor set, just the mask. When doing some of the side quests before liberating Gerudo Town, the was the Voe class for adults that I was investigating and one of the women said she had a fear of men wland couldn't directly look into their eyes/face. I immediately thought the Yiga mask would work and got shooketh by seeing me get tossed in jail. Thankfully they skydiving mask also worked so I still got to completing that quest. The mask, which I think you get in the Great Plateau, seems to be the only requirement for this dialogue as well as other masks/headgear like the Phantom Ganon mask scaring some NPCs... I might be wrong on that one though.
22:50 i just confirmed it, i still don't know how to unlock it, but in my 260+ hour savefile i have the different tittle screen but it remains normal in a new savefile, i think it maybe instead of the missions or the sages, i think it could be that appears after you get all the dragon tears, to prevent spoiling that huge plotwist
With the Yiga set, only the mask is needed to get you jailed, and wearing the Thunder Helm and approaching most Gerudo NPCs will produce a speech bubble recognizing it. Same things happens speaking to disguised Yiga with the body and leg armor for Yiga, alongside the helm: they'll tell you off for not disguising yourself, but a speech bubble will appear expressing awe at the helm.
The “illusion” with the mural of Ganondorf was probably made by creating the eye shape using a concave shape with the internal edges acting as mirrors to reflect the image. This is also how Shara Ishvalda from Monster Hunter “tracks” the players camera and not the model
Regarding 22:58 You need to complete the game, restart it and wait for the title screen to cycle about 3 times. Then you'll see the rest of the murals.

It would be so cool if there was a room in your tarrey town house that let you display all the useless trinkets you collect from quests like the well globe, hestu's gift and all of the medals.
Right!?! A trophy room for all those things would be cooler than leaving it in the last page of the inventory menus

I would imagine it like the Odyssey in SMO where all the souvenirs are displayed but in more detail and more visible.

21:30 yes it bugs me a lil
It's not an alternate timeline. The mural is still there in the beginning of the game, and Ganondorf already knows who Zelda and Link are before she travels back in time. It was always fated to happen.
Plus, people don't seem to understand that it happened like 7 years after calamity ganon and all the events from Bot, of course the light dragon didn't appear at BotW because Zelda was stopping calimity Ganon with her power in the sanctum
my theory with how all the zonai stuff showed up was that zelda (or the secret stone) somehow made hyrule like, change to that timeline. idk
Stable loops make my timeline tingle
All lightroots are exactly under shrines

Hah, next time i have a paper or styrofoam cup I'll try that... probably Friday tbh. Sounds like a fun little experiment, thanks

If it made a different timeline, how did we even get the Master Sword back
@@zavodila9279 Exactly.
11:01 they do that dance to reference desert lizards that raise their feet off the hot sand!
source?
@@RealbluesparkFN look up shovel-snouted lizard
@@s0m3Guy37 but how do you know it is referencing that.
@@RealbluesparkFN makes the most sense, what else would it be?
The thing about the dragons is a common misconception. They are divine spirits who work for the gods and can only be seen by those who are pure of heart, wherein they take the form of a dragon. There is no evidence to suggest that they are the result of Draconification, nor is Draconification ever suggested to be the only method by which dragons can exist.
But how do they know draconification exist ? These dragons must still exist unless they were killed and exploded like Ganon

"Hmmm... That's odd."

at 39:22, ToTK's project name could be a referrence to it being a switch release.
Just got home from work and found the 60-minute episode dropped 4 hours ago.
Pretty good day.
I just learned that if you visit Cece while wearing the Hylian hood she will ask you to take it off your head, thus giving you the option to wear the cape with hood up or down! Talking to her again will give you the option to put it on again.
Hood down all the way! Would be cool if link could just do it himself though lol. Like if it randomly starts raining, id like that option
Fun fact my battery died just before you said your estimation for the fusable items lol. The world did not want me to know
120,000+ different items ;)
Of all the things in this video, the most surprising information was that the Switch has a built-in screen zoom feature
23:11 I think you have to reveal the mural under Hyrule Castle, then do Mineru's quest. I think that's what updated the main menu for me.
Someone else said it happened for them after finding the final Dragon's Tear.
"This will take 60 minutes of your time"
I'm watching this at 2x speed to rebel
I’d love to see a video doing musical covers with stakes!
I’d like to request the first few notes of “F*cked with an anchor” by Alestorm, but if that’s too profane, maybe the chorus of “voyage of the dead marauder” also by Alestorm
I'll check them out and see what i can do. thanks!
41:08 The X might be from the code name for the Nintendo Switch that was used around 2016 the NX, Nintendo X
If I remember correctly from what I heard in other videos the “lava” in ToTK at 6:16 is where the campfire is in the quest just before clearing the storm before spirit temple
i saw the intro and realised holy i haven't seen this channel in ages im excited to watch now
At 23:07 you talk about the murals going by and seeing only a few, out of curiosity I booted up my game and just waited as they cycled through, eventually the ones hidden by the wall popped up. I currently have all 5 sages and have yet to beat the game or even enter the depths under Hyrule Castle to reveal the rest of them. Maybe you only need the sages? Or maybe it’s just a random thing, either way, cool detail I figured I’d share.
Thank you for pointing out the scimitar geoglyph map thing. I will _NEVER_ unsee that... Ahhhhh!
5:34 It’s possible to make references to non canon things. They’re fun Easter eggs, and don’t have any lore implications
57:33
THATS WHAT THOSE WEIRD CIRCLES ARE FOR????
I believe it is getting all the geoglyph memories now too. Thanks!
That video was extremely enjoyable. I liked the unique, "you're wasting your time, even though you know you can't click away" tone.
at 15:24 - Dorian probably has more of a reaction because from BOTW - he used to be part of the Yiga clan himself. There's a questline about it.
You didn't mention that EX-king could be referencing the code name for the switch, the NX (Nintendo extreme likely)
Dang. That would have been good to include, but I didn't actually know the switch's code name. Good info, thanks
Regarding 22:58 You need to complete the game, restart it and wait for the title screen to cycle about 3 times. Then you'll see the rest of the murals.
I was not prepared for how useless that first bit about the horses was going to be. Bravo!
The way to get all the mural panels in the title screen is by having all the memories
ahh, thanks! that's one thing i havent done on my current playthrough yet. I had to factory reset my switch to go back to version 1.0, which deleted all my save data from my first playthrough.
I literally was hoping for a new useless info video for Totk and now I can finally watch after my shift! (:
40:51 Many say that they ate the 3 pieces of the Tri-Force because you can find a triangle on each of their necks
This would also explain why there are only a few secret stones ever mentioned in the game
1:11 it's hard to put into words exactly how it works, but it's because the eyes are in a hole so looking at it from a different angle makes it look like they're tracking you.
21:20 I'm not sure myself, I'd personally guess it's when you get all the memories though, cause that's when you'd be guaranteed to have seen all the events show on the mural
