9:04 I think revali's morse code happening later and being faint is due to him being arrogant and not wanting help, really symbolises him as a character

    • @Rolling_Girl_falling_forever
      @Rolling_Girl_falling_forever ปีที่แล้ว +573

He desperately wanted to prove that he could handle this on his own and only used the Morse code when he was certain he was going to die.
After all, he had no idea the other Champions were dying too. Revali probably felt ashamed that he had failed the biggest thing he had trained for.

I think it tells a more interesting story if we match the signal time stamp to the story of the fight more than the personality. Like quite a few others, I think there’s more to it than just arrogance. I think he’s boastful, but not to the point of arrogance. His boasting is proportionate to his skill. It seemed he was able to hold out well until the end, hence why the SOS signal was later. Considering his skill, I wonder if it was really foolish arrogance. I think the tides turned in favour of the blight late in the battle, hence why he then sent out the signal.
Other enlightening comments in the comment section add to the debate. One shows Medoh was the furthest away and Revali accessed his respective beast last . Another suggests he was able to hold out despite the disadvantage of not being able to see well in the dark until he began running out of arrows. For such a theory- heavy franchise, the simple labels of Mipha as meek and Revali as cocky have really dominated. I like how the themes recover the depth of their personalities a bit more than just ‘cocky’ or ‘shy’, but I’m too much of an analysis nerd I think.

songs try to convey feelings through creative ways, rythm for example the horse sound steps are used in that song that plays in horse betting, heart beats are used in popular music, "staying alive" its an example of perfect rythm to give Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation. Melody is another way, "duel of the fates" has a melody that goes up and down all the time, ending in a neutral tone, because its the fight of good vs evil but none of them is prevailing. And of course the use of leitmotivs are the favourite of profesional composers.

12:53 The so called "suggestive statues" are likely based on jizo statues which are commonly found throughout japan. The statues are dedicated to Jizo, the Buddhist deity who protects children and travelers and are commonly found on roadsides.
38:10 The rubber helm is likely a reference to namazu, a giant catfish from japanese mythology who lives deep underground and causes earthquakes. Namazu was also referenced in A Link to the Past where, when you throw something into a pond in the dark world, a giant catfish appears and gives you the quake medallion.

This has implications that the Sheikah were able to replicate divine power with technology, essentially surpassing the gods themselves. Calamity Ganon taking over this tech to destroy Hyrule is equivalent to Ganon getting the Triforce from the Sacred Realm in the A Link to the Past, leaving Hyrule a post-apocalyptic land of monsters until Link defeats him and returns everything back to normal.

Maybe the languages are only used in written form? It's also worth noting that Link most likely does not understand ancient Sheikah text, as the text for tabs before they are obtained (Album and Compendium) are not legible and stated to be corrupted, but are always labeled correctly in Shiekah text before Link first learns about them. It's not confirmation, but I think it's worth noting that the Slate does seemingly translate the texts from Shiekah when they are shown to the player in English. Zelda lore is crazy! I don’t think the blood moon would revive every single monster that existed, the land would be flooded with monsters even more so than it even is, it’s likely only monsters that existed at the time Gannon revived

I’m pretty sure the reason why Link had to go to the shrine of resurrection and not just a nearby stable bed for a quick rest is because he fully straight up died. Like, “Game Over” died. And if you have a fairy on hand, they don’t seem to work in the same way as the shrine. They protect Link from the fatal blow, be it in some magical force field way or whatever, and replenish a handful of hearts. Once you get a proper game over, no amount of fairies can revive Link.
The shrine wasn’t just replenishing link’s health. It was reviving a clinically dead body, one that would’ve been dead for a good while considering the distance between fort hateno and the great plateau. And honestly, it did a pretty damn good job at it if he still has muscle memory of how to fight and was able to remember his name.

ALBW's and Tri-Force Heroes' internal codenames were, if I remember correctly, Alice and Hatter (Because you go into another world and find clothing items respectively), so maybe the UKing was just keeping with the motif

I think your probably right about the crest being a dodongo foot print. I'm sure the Gorons got the design for their spiritual stone from somewhere in their region that was a symbol for power. Our art is a reflection of our environments as we are all a reflection of the world and the sum of it as well. Hope I said that right lol

Hearing Iwata's name pronounced as "Eye-wata" instead of "EE-wata" definitely made my eye water.
    Jokes aside, brilliant video.

I'm sure somebody's commented this before but I must note that calling a bird a cannibal for eating poultry is like calling a human a cannibal for eating cow meat. There's a lot of bird species just like there's a lot of mammal species

14:20 For some reason Nintendo has a weird obsession with focusing on a single number in their games… like Splatoon Octo Expansion with the number 8

There are four shrines in the Great Hyrule Forest: One near the center (thankfully), and one for each of the trials.
There are four islands associated with Tingle: Tingel, Ankel, Knuckel, and Davdi.

45:28 This would be consistent with being left handed. When walking, there is a tendency to lead with the foot opposite your dominant hand. Maybe in BotW, he decided the shield parry needed his dominant hand more than his swordplay did.

re: the development name being "U King" - the zelda games at the time were titled that way; I believe LoZ:aLBW was called "Jack", OoT3D was "Queen", WWHD was "King", and Triforce Heroes was "Alice".
