Chilli Billy/Chilly Willy are differentiated by the order in which you fight them, with the second dragon fought having double the health and attacking faster. Plus, they're the only Tooie boss with pits in their arena, so while the attacks may not be the most challenging, there's always the risk of immediate death if you mess up a jump to add tension.
Banjo Kazooie didn't really have many proper bosses, but the final fight against Grunty is an absolute banger. One of the best final bosses in video game history, and a perfect way to cap off a near perfect game.
I absolutely adore the Gruntilda fight in BK. After such a fun and cartoony game, complete with a quiz show, you're not expecting such a serious and epic fight. The music is absolutely top tier and the atmosphere with the dark thunderous sky is just top notch. But what I love about her is she's no push over. There's hardly any room to rest before she's at you again, and you gotta keep moving. She makes you use almost all your abilities throughout the game, so she feels like a true culmination of the game, an unexpected challenge to cap it off. But the other thing i really like is how she violates one of the most basic rules in games. The rule of three. Almost everything in this game follows the rule of three. But Grunty? She has five phases, requires four hits per phase in 1, 2 and 3, then four jinjos in 4, and the jinjonator in 5 requires four slots to fill. It really helps set her apart and keeps you guessing as to just how much you have to do in order to win.
One thing I always liked about the Grunty fight in BK is the fact it tests your ability to use every attack you've gained through the game. Great fight.
I would've put Boss Boom Box higher personally; I loved getting as many little boxes as possible hopping around. That being said, this video was great, and a great nostalgia trip!
I dunno how Old King Coal made it so high on your list. You can beat him in about a minute just standing there and using egg aim. At least you have to move around to beat the dragons.
The chilly bros use the same firing sound as the dragonfly boss from DK 64. Mr. Patch is all around a great boss. Always gotta hit that really small patch that to the right of his tail before having to be in the air.
The bosses were great In this game. Im not one of those who have turned on it as I had a riot with it as a kid. I haven’t played it as an adult though. How could I possibly have time? But I had a good time with it back then.
Great video and choices! The only thing I have to add is that I’m bad at video games, so that would probably change the order of some of these for me. 😂
People keep saying that the Chilli Billi/Chilly Willy boss fights are easy, but they are the only bosses I frequently die at aside from Hag #1. 😅 I do wonder if people remember their Replay versions more than their main game versions. In the Boss Replay mode, they are both equally as challenging, but in the main game the second one you fight becomes more difficult than the first one, that's where I always die.
I don't like the dragon bro boss fights because the instant death pit cheapens them. The game sets your expectations for the fights high, because they're DRAGONS. And kinda goofy dragons sure, but they should still be a bit formidable and intimidating. But your high expectations set you up for disappointment cuz the actual fights are....meh. Sure, the bottomless pit is technically part of the boss fights, but it doesn't FEEL like the dragon is the one who defeated me. It feels more like I awkwardly fell down a hole in the middle of the action. It's not a fun kind of defeat, it doesn't make the dragons themselves come across as formidable. Also instantly dying because of one small slip-up just isn't great design, usually. Having more than 2 attacks would have helped a lot too.
I’ve played the game since 2000, when I was 5, and haven’t had problems with the Chilli Billi and Chilly Willy boss fights, either in the main game or in replay mode. I think you might just be bad at the game.
I recently made a banjo boss list too and some of your choices are similar to mine! I’m glad to see my thought process was on the same idea. And some of your opinions are very different too, so it’s cool to see different perspectives too!
Beating Gruntilda at the end of Banjo Kazooie was one of the high points of my childhood. It was like beating a Souls boss for 8 year old me of the time. What a game!
King Coal has one of my favorite jokes Kazooie: But you’re supposed to be a merry old soul! King Coal: Not me, pal. But soon, you’ll feel my merry old sole on the top of your heads!
As a kid I found the flibbits and the zubbas way harder than I should have and those odd ones from Clanker's Cavern. I didn't even know Snippet could be killed until I saw a video on a shitty little Canadian video game show. This was back when I had my magic... I miss magic being real. Hey though, my kid LOVES Smash Bros, so I think I did pretty good!!
Oh yeah, also, my favorite boss was woo fak fak. The swimming never bothered me much, even with the flaws, and the small box i liked because i felt trapped in there with him. I also love angler fish and underwater setting, so seeing that was cool to me.
Also interesting that the top two bosses are also the bosses that use the flight mechanic the most. People complain about flight controls but they are undeniably pretty fun when it comes to bosses it seems. Mr. Patchy becomes instantly more fun when we get to fly in that space
Targetzan was hard for me because it was my first exposure to the first person shooter platform that requires precise aiming and awareness of what's coming at you with limited camera control. As a kid who didn't play a lot of first person shooter games, this was very challenging.
I really like this but I just think Boss Boom Box was dismissed a little too much, he's the ONLY enemy in BK (aside from Grunty of course) that actually feels like a proper boss, and it's not just cause of his name. He's big, he's pissed, he has a simple but interesting mechanic, he was definitely scary as a kid, you are trapped with him, and he's a mega form of other enemies we've encountered. Also I never knew Terry was male. Huh, always assumed they were a mom dino.
Here's how I rank the bosses from worst to best: 11. Hag 1 10. Chilly Willy/Chilli Billi 9. Mingy Jongo 8. Weldar 7. Targitzan 6. Klungo 5. Lord Woo Fak Fak 4. Mr. Patch 3. Gruntilda 2. Terri & 1. Old King Coal Remember, it's my opinion.

I have nothing to add, but video good. May this comment serve as a sacrificial offering to the YT algorithm.
You are too kind!
Bump for the same reason. Great video homie
I''m donating cause I hope you will keep these fun videos coming. Thanks!
Thank you ❤️

Most people some how don't know you can play against Lord Who Fak Fak as the Submarine with unlimited missiles. Makes it much more tolerable.
You mean easier
Man I hated trying to shoot eggs into the Jinjonator. But other than that, absolutely the best fight in the series imo!!
I really liked fighting against Mr Patch. The music in particular really was good.
And yet you fight him 3 times Banjo Tooie and Nuts & Bolts
He’s a fun boss overall
Not having Gruntys theme in Smash Bros Ultimate will forever bother me, it's so iconic, how could they leave it out?
Because Nintendo...
Hag 1 not being #2 or #1 is crazy, everything else is fine
I've been loving the Banjo videos!
I always loved old king coal as a kid, glad to see him appreciated
I think the yellow flippits actually outnumber the normal flippits. Which flies hard in the face of Boss tropes
I enjoy the nostalgia these videos bring back to me. Another great video!
Yeah Mr. patch is definitely my favorite. Good video and list!
I rlly like the use of different borders on your vids it makes every vid kinda special
Thanks! I'm glad someone noticed lol
One thing I always liked about the Grunty fight in BK is the fact it tests your ability to use every attack you've gained through the game. Great fight.
And I never realized that BK had almost 10 "boss fights" 😯
Weldar is my favorite boss and you can use fire eggs on him too
The extra comments are defs helping the appease the YT gods. Keep up the good work
Thanks!
Old King Coal And The Great Mighty Poo Could Become Besties😂
Old King Coal is so easiest boss fighter❤
Mr. Patch has always been one of my top favorites too, but it's so frustrating!!
wow another great video Ivanavi!
Probably weldar and mr. patch overall, there's a reason i usually save the boss in witchyworld for last.
Great choice for #2 😉
I would've put Boss Boom Box higher personally; I loved getting as many little boxes as possible hopping around. That being said, this video was great, and a great nostalgia trip!
I think Mingy has the greatest reveal of any boss but then you can beat him with the wonderwing in ten seconds.
I like how the boss fights add to the originality of each level, going deeper in fighting mecanics if compared to BK :)
Those Frogs in Bubblegloop swamp sounded like a threat even when the music went drastic, until I saw how slow and open they looked when they moved.
I dunno how Old King Coal made it so high on your list. You can beat him in about a minute just standing there and using egg aim. At least you have to move around to beat the dragons.
The fact that Banjo-Tooie isn’t on NSO is almost criminal.
True
Amazing to think they announced its inclusion so quickly after this video was uploaded.
@@slashermaster28 I am beyond stoked!

What an original idea!
Actually, pterodactyls, such a Terry, are not dinosaurs, but flying reptiles.
👏

@@NoxWyatt What an analysis
"He is just a Dinosaur" ಠ_ʖಠ
First his wife leaves him, then his eggs get stolen, his species is nearly extinct....and now people bully him? Give Terry a break.

My favorite is Mr. Patch in B-T! 😊 As for BK, Grunty.

I always thought it was interesting that kazooie had these strange half-boss fights
Also interesting that the top two bosses are also the bosses that use the flight mechanic the most. People complain about flight controls but they are undeniably pretty fun when it comes to bosses it seems. Mr. Patchy becomes instantly more fun when we get to fly in that space
I think that Banjo-Tooie bosses are very good,
and they are so recognizable,
like the finale boss of Kazooie and Tooie,
and all the Tooie bosses.
Hordes of regular enemies dont count as bosses. They are enemies hordes.
Weldar is an elite boss.
Targetzan was hard for me because it was my first exposure to the first person shooter platform that requires precise aiming and awareness of what's coming at you with limited camera control. As a kid who didn't play a lot of first person shooter games, this was very challenging.

4. Mr. Patch
3. Gruntilda
2. Terri
& 1. Old King Coal
Remember, it's my opinion.
Sometimes overcoming the disorienation the game creates with camera angles is the biggest challenge in this game
That’s true for sure
Lord fak fak is by far my least favorite boss. And I agree Mr Patch is definitely my favorite
@@SDeezy11 The boss isn't the fish, it's the camera
@@qwertykins76 I guess but it’s also hard to hit his week spots because of the tight hit boxes
Honestly Rare’s 3D bosses only got better after Banjo Kazooie(Aside from Grunty). I really like the ones in DK64 and Tooie
Complains about Lord Woo Fak Fak being hard to hit but puts Mr. Patch as number 2 and doesn't even mention how awful it is to hit him
