Always buy from the manufacturer and never from a third party or used. Stay safe. And remember never never ever share your seed phrase. No one and even ledger support team will never ask for it. If anyone asks for your seed phrase, than they are a scammer. Keep it safe and don’t share with anyone. The seed is your actual wallet, not the device. The device is just an interface to interact with your wallet.

Great vid man! Thank u! A never ending debate amoung Ledger users.....Some say you can put your crypto, any crypto, on your Ledger. I say your crypto is always on the blockchain it purtains to. The Ledger is only there to allow transactions and movement of your crypto. And your crypto is not sitting in the device. I would love to have all my crypto sitting in the Ledger if this is possible. Your opinion?

Thank you. Very well done. I learned something...as I took notes (the steps all in order, that I could follow; thanks again). Now the hard part: trying to make heads/tails of all the steps required to buy/sell/transfer coins onto Nano S...and all of the insanity of third party vendors in order to try and deal w/Fiat to crypto; crypto to fiat, as well as verifying this, (that) and (the other thing!): ALL WITHOUT THE LIVE PHONE SUPPORT (THAT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE)...BUT FOR SOME CRAZY REASON IS VIEWED AS "ANCIENT"...yet it's much faster and more efficient that typing digits and waiting for answers, by far. Thank you again.

1st time wallet buyer and small crypto investor. As a newbie the initialization was agony. Big big disclosure/ warning Ledger does not support Cardano! Also if you have Polygon it is connected to Etherium- which I do not own. It took me many hours and e-mails with tech support to learn this simple fact. Now you know. Finally I tried to do a test transfer of Bitcoin of $1.00 but it was rejected- there is a minimum size of Bitcoin needed for transfers.

Thanks! Mainly just transaction fees for your native blockchain. Be aware that there are also sometimes where you may think you’re sending a native asset from an exchange (like MATIC on Coinbase) but it’s actually the ERC20 Ethereum version of it so be careful.

@@aaahhh5236 using that example I gave, you might try to send MATIC from Coinbase to your Ledger’s Polygon address (looks the same as an ETH address) on its native chain. MATIC is the native token of Polygon. However, Coinbase supports the ERC20 (Ethereum) version of MATIC so you wouldn’t ever see it land in your Polygon wallet. I already bought the X because of all the reviews stating that the S plus was not compatible with iOS. It now appears that the reviews were all wrong as ledger's own site says it is - but it didn't say that before when I was choosing. So have i wasted 50 bucks on old shit?

    • @Hashoshi4

To my knowledge, S Plus is not compatible with iOS.

What would happen, if in, let's say 50 years, I notice, that the stick is broken and the Ledger Company doesn't exist anymore? Am I right assuming, that my Cryptos would be accessible only as long as the Ledger Company exists?

      KEY TAKEAWAYS:
      - Your cryptocurrency is stored on the blockchain and your private key unlocks the use of the crypto coins/tokens.
      - If Ledger didn’t exist anymore, your cryptocurrency coins and keys would be safe and you could still access them.
      - You can retrieve your private key that your Ledger wallet was securing with a 24-word recovery phrase and it can be entered into a compatible wallet, meaning your coins are safe from loss if anything happened to Ledger.

I looked into Ledger. They charge about 15-20% more in my country. So I won't buy it. It's made in China, why is it cheaper in USA?

Unfortunately Ledger was unable to even secure my pvt information like my name address and credit card data so I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM to do anything, especially when it comes to crypto. just a heads up.

    • @Hashoshi4

You have your seed phrase safely backed up, so you have control of your funds whether Ledger exists or not. That same standard seed phrase can be then used with any software/hardware wallet

    • @Hashoshi4
      @Hashoshi4  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That's a good way of thinking! I respect that haha - definitely keep an eye on the tamper proofing mechanisms (shrink wrap especially) and if you boot up your device and it is asking for PIN without showing "welcome" or setup then you should return it. With a bit of care up front, you can be pretty confident you aren't using a device that's been tampered with

tnx for wasting my money on this crap wallet. if i had read before buying it, i wouldv know that latest firmware leaves it with only 138kb , and BTC application is 62Kb for example
and also not mentioning its a closed source code
and also its a 5 year old product
    etc
tnx agin for wasting my money on this
i hope others will read this before buy

@@Hashoshi4 yeah sry i was in a too much of a hurry to buy wallet i didnt see, nor read more before bying it, im pissed off . why are they still selling it if its obsolete,.
but im ok now after analyzing my tokens , which i dont have many, so i only need eth, hbar, and maybe binance applications,. and i will spare memory by using paper wallet for bitcoin, which is safest
oh and to add, there are no trezor nor nano plus available in my country, and if i order it its gonna cost me double,.
