I like how the camera man is genuinely interested in what she is doing. Next I want to see the camera man show us what he has learned by doing a set of nails!!! Like this if you agree!
By my pitiful calculations, there are approximately 158.3 hours of video for your channel. That's a lot of time and I've seen them all! Is that a devoted fan or what????
Yes! I would give anything to have a nail friend near by! My left hand always looks great; no lifting, no weird or asymmetrical nails, and no sloppy polish to have to clean up before curing. It would be so much fun for us each to trade doing each other's dominant hand! We would do our own non-dominant hand, and then the other would do our dominant hand to match. We would just bring all the supplies we used for the non-dominant hand and let the matching contest begin!
I removed my acrylic over lays on 29th December 2018. My real nails were over an inch out from the nail bed, following 11 years of using acrylic tips and over lays. I developed severe onychylosis on my left index finger and such a bad fungal infection on my right thumb, i had to cut the nail off to the cuticle, and soak my 'stump' in tea tree oil. It's now almost August and all of the damage is nearly grown out. I'm desperate to have long nails, but I'm going to try and grow them without acrylic or gel. Wish me luck!! Xx
I'm so sorry that happened to you! Good luck with natural nails, no overlays. But know this, a very light buff is all you need for gel polish, and gel polish will add some support and protection to your natural nail.
I was going to a salon. I spent a year trying to grow strong nails, without success. So, I'm back to acrylics. Luckily, I can infill and rebalance them myself, now the salons are closed due to covid.
And all girls who love to apply nail polish. I’m ambidextrous when I do my manicure but my sister is always mad when she does her right hand (right handed) and applies nail polish all over her skin and cuticules 😂
I had 3 of my nails crushed in a car window. I picked out the broken pieces, cleaned the nail and applied new acrylic over it and it worked better then a bandage. In my opinion you are doing exactly what’s needed to protect the nail that is left. Great video.
Please keep us up to date with the growth of this nail, it helps us (the viewers/fans) to learn how to treat, fix, what to look for and how to keep it healthy and strong for it to grow. Please make up date videos about it, thank you in advance 🙋♀️👍
I’m a self taught (only my daughter’s, her 2 friend’s and my own nails) nail tech. Let’s see....I was about 15 when I started teaching myself and I’m a few months shy of 40. Doing my dominate nails with my non-dominate hand was the most unnatural feeling EVER! I forced myself to continue using my non-dom hand like I used the dom hand. Seeing a PRO such as Kirstie struggle with the same thing makes me not feel so bad! Truth be told, I think (maybe because I spend more time?) I like the way the nails that I do with my non-dom hand look more! Maybe I’ll start experiment with doing a full set with my left hand! I love all of your work!!
I'm right handed and also self taught. I work so much better with my left hand. I think it's because I'm confident with my right so when working with my left I hyper focused on what I was doing and was able to hone the skill. Now I prefer to work with my left.
I had no idea you could put the acrylic right on the skin. I get these injuries every so often because I have really short nail beds and I wear really long extensions. But I always put a tip then acrylic. So next time I’m gonna try this way.
I wouldn't do it. Every time acrylic touches my skin it itches and hurts later (while it's setting, because it kinda shrinks) but, maybe that works for some people! Although I recommend you do a test before doing the actual nail
Kirsty has previously said that you can put acrylic on the nail plate but not your skin! As the nail plate heals from the inside out whereas our skin heals from the outside in.
You can see her nail bed has hardened as she has let it dry out and left it for a few days. Every once and a while on the skin is fine. Over the years people develope contact dermatitis from the monomer slapped around from untrained or lazy techs. Not from this
@@natasialarsen4297 before when Kirsty broke her nail she said you can put it over the skin when it's healed and when it's dry. Here's the video. m.th-cam.com/video/pPPlrfHU-Kw/w-d-xo.html I BROKE MY NAIL AGAIN!!! - TH-cam
I wacked my ring finger a few times & had the same issue. I went about the same shorter length you have there... But instead trimmed away the end and I gel attached a full cover tip but I leave a space at the cuticle area (like 2 weeks fill ins worth) and file it even to my natural nail and then acrylic overlay over that. Its grown out nicely now.
Love watching your videos I had my first overlays after watching you , thank you and I am 70 years old 😳 never had nice nails but have learnt so much just watching you 😊
Please, please do an update? I learned so much from this tutorial. I particularly struggle with filing with my non-dominant hand, so this was incredibly useful. Thank you so much for all your time and effort bringing us these terrific videos! Much love to you both.
I'd love to be able to do this someday. My nails break a lot and being able to repair with acrylic is genius! I'm 2 months into nail school and I still suck. Acrylic is so hard for me.
Just keep practicing and you will get better! I was so so horrible when I first started with acrylics about 3 years ago. Now, I am what people call,an "acrylic snob", LOL. I prefer it over any other product. Good luck in school! If you truly love the field and industry, don't get discouraged and before you know it, it will come natural to you!
It’s the same nail you broke last year and the same reason! Your one tough lady! I love watching your nails. I do mine but not near the quality at all. I just started with other than just plain nail polish. I’m having fun learning watching your channel. Acrylic nails, not yet.
Hello Naio Nails Naiple (nail + people).. blessings to all. Adam... was so nice to see you featured for a change. You are so very cute!!! ... far different from what I'd assigned to you in my minds eye. Glad you are back safe. It was fun watching your antics and visits. Kirsty... this is so timely as I had a nail weaken and pop off taking a big part of the natural nail with it. So thanks doll, you are a real nail -saver. Hugs to all. Oh, Kirsty when is your mom coming back? Sept 1st will be 25 years since my mom was murdered... if your mom could get her nails done around then... it's a great comfort watching her as they act much alike. Hugs to all from Richmond Va, USA.
"How much better is buffing? than with a 240 file" the guy ASKED. her answer 👏 very clear and she shows why, TY. 😊 TO THE GUY, ty you to because newbies like Learn asking questions such as these TY BOTH😌 💯 👌
Hi Kirsty. I have psoriasis and my nails lift. So I cut the lifted piece off and do what you are doing. They are also paper thin and without my acrylics on it is sore doing everyday things. So I am pleased I am doing what the goddess of nails does. It also means I can put on my scuba gear without pain and dive for a whole fortnight without lifting using only Naio Nails supplies. Thanks for all your great tutorials I have learned so much 💋
5,287,515.50 minutes as of the time I am watching this video. This computes to 88,188 hours of viewing on just this one since it was put up. We love watching you!
I had a nail split vertically, right down to the nail bed. Unusual for me, since my nails are normally really strong (I'm getting a blood test for anaemia) and I've NEVER had a vertical split before! Trimmed it as far as I could but it was still going to catch on something. Since I have only ever done one set of gel extensions (just for fun), it was not easy but I managed to do a hard gel extension on it, with my non - dominant hand. It took a couple of attempts but I got there in the end! Like you, I opted for a clear version. so that I could keep an eye on it. A week later and I trimmed it a bit, the natural nail is almost grown out. It has saved my natural nail, since it would have been torn otherwise!
Adam, my buffer is 1000/1200 grit, compared to the 100/180 grit of an acrylic file or 320/400 of a natural nail edge file. I think the grits are the same as sandpaper, tbh
That looks like it really hurt when it happened. I learned so much. Thank you Adam I must thank you to for asking all those questions so we all learn. You two are a great team.
Almost a year ago 2 of my fingers got slammed in a truck bed tool box (it was an accident but I did not let my fiance live it down) and one nail was fine, it hurt, but was fine for the most part, my other finger seemed fine, but then a couple days later I found I had maybe a quarter of my nail bed attached. I did exactly what you are doing (with gel) and it helped it so much. I also know if I did not have the gel on it when it happened, I probably would not have a nail at all right now. Love your Kirsty!
Thanks for this video 💗 I'm also prone to onycholysis (likely as a symptom of a chronic health condition) and for myself it really does speed up proper regrowth to apply an extension. Without it the fingertip itself just mashes against the damaged area, but an extension prevents that and keeps the skin flat instead of puffing up around it. Sometimes I'm sensitive to monomer so if I don't even have a little layer of nail bed growing I'll use hard gel. Doctors probably would advise against it but the alternative is often vulnerable nail beds and as long as I don't extend it enough to exacerbate lifting it speeds things up and helps me look human 👽👸🏻
Great video you guys! I had a pointer finger nail ripped right off in a truck door years back and I agree....it's like a bandage when you can finally put an enhancement over top. I had to wait awhile until I actually healed up and grew a wee nail again....but I was a happy camper after that 👍. Hope yours grows quickly for you Kirsty!! 💗🌸
Adam, the nail grows from cuticle region. It's a very queratinous tissue. The nail bed grows like skin, it's an epithelial tissue, that has 3 layers: endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm. When she ripped her nail off, she exposed her endodermis (and maybe some conjunctival tissue, underneath epithelial tissue).
thanks for doing this.....I broke my nail 2/3 way down right across....i have been making own nail up with acrylic..hoping it will eventually grow out ...so was glad to see how you treated such a trauma Kindest Regards
You're right I didn't get notifications yet mine are certainly turned on. Since I've had acrylics on my nails appear to grow fast I need an in fill almost every 3 weeks or I get painful lifting. I've tried to do it myself but I'm just awful at it .
I miss when you had daily videos! I know it’s a lot of work but it was such a delight to see on my feed. I’ve also found that the channels I’m subscribed to but not actively interacting on (liking/commenting/sharing etc) I’m seeing less notifications from. And my notifications are on so I believe it’s also in part the viewer needing to interact with the channel more. 🤷🏻♀️ thanks Kirsty for another awesome tutorial. The only video you haven’t done yet is an in-depth efile tutorial. That would be great to see! Lots of love and blessed be!
Agouveia1285 i think you have figured out an algorithm mytery. When i think about it i indeed see more of the channels I interact with on my recommend but on my sub page some channels just never show up....i might have too many channels in there.....
Naio Nails has a lot of videos but the ones with Kirsty are 740 of them, it appears. I think at 10 minutes that's only about 123 hours. I've watched all of the Kirsty videos.
THANK YOU!!! That's awesome that you took the time to answer this burning question! I came looking for this answer and if you hadn't beaten me to it I would have tried to figure it out. But I think Kirsty's videos average more than 10 minutes.
I caught my hand in a drawer pull a few weeks ago and cracked my nail across the top of the nail by the cuticle, I was so glad it only cracked my acrylic and my real nail was safe and sound breaking a nail just the thought makes me cringe and want to vomit. 🤢
I'm very new at doing my own nails and i was a little insecure that I wasn't shaping them quite right because most videos i see are with much much longer nails (I usually do mine the length as this one in the vid), but I shape mine EXACTLY like Kirsty does! I'm so glad I translated the motions correctly onto a short nail.
K: "Not as bad as Fay" A: "you taught her" 🤣🤣🤣 I miss Fay! Hope to see a new video with our favourite worst client soon x Also I would LOVE an update video about your nail situation it
That’s so cool to be able to watch your nail repair itself 😎 I’m not getting notifications for every new video posted....but I love your channel so I check often 👯♀️
I did a "free form" on mine... super dry bead and patted and sculpted it into shape. I'm pretty sure I got that from you. I believe it was from a "short, bitten nails" video - extending the free edge in order to apply a form
That looks like my pinky right now. I have a sore were my fingernail and nail bed was. A bad sore. I have to wait before I can put anything on the poor nail.I feel for that poor nail my sympanthies. Love your work as always Kirsty!
Oh man, that looks SO painful! Please update us on how it heals. OMG, now I know why I'm constantly cutting my cuticles when doing an overlay with my non-dominate hand! I keep moving the file and I'm not resting on anything. Well, I'm a bit of a twat lol. Edit to fix typos.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see you put a complete set on your dominant hand. Because for a students like I am, that would look like someone who's doing nails for the first time. And also teach me how to do my dominant hand. Now I'm using tips on my dominant hand because I can't do it any other way..... So please... Make that video for me... Please 😁🙄😘
Think if this is the second time you should try a nail tip with a deep ridge so as it sticks to the undamaged part of the nail, still allows the air to reach the damaged part of the nail and allowes the nail to grow not telling a professional what to do but I had the same prob
I have problems with shaping my nails on my non dominant hand, they tend to look abit misshaped 😢😢 but I remember having a poorly nail a few years ago an i wouldn’t put nothing in it because I was to scared to but now I just suck it up an do a Kirsty and just stick a nail on it an have it nice and short xxx
What I’ve always found fascinating is when I’ve got acrylics on my natural nails grow so fast! But without the acrylic my natural nail grows so much slower.
I love it reactions, lol. Love it better when it's the middle finger, that one u make really funny! RIP ring nail. Welcome to the world, perfect new ring nail!
I ripped my whole fingernail off back in Feb. It didn't come all the way off so I went to the ER and the Dr. there numbed my finger and pulled the whole nail out and then put it back in to use it for a pallet to make sure my fingernail grew back properly and also for protection. That was a fun time.
I think the feeling is actually sensitive to exposure it doesn't usually get. Brilliant call with the clear! Fantastic, as always, luv 🤗😊 Love to see the progress. Get well soon lol❤ Let's see the man off camera try a set. He's learned a lot, I wager. 😁
Poor nail 😩😥😢 hope it's better soon! I did the same to my thumb recently. Can I do the same thing but using polygel instead? Love you and Adams banter back and forth and love the channel. You are a beautiful & gifted artist for sure. Love from California!
Idk if you should use polygel bc gel gets pretty warm under the lamp, and you can feel it really hot if it touches any skin around the finger, I can't imagine feeling that on the nail bed🤔 anyway if you try it let me know how it goes!
Your videos are so helpful! I have question, I broke my natural nail like this but it’s still together. I glued it back together in the split and and put a base coat and gel.and feels so much better. Can I still wear acrylic nails? With a a fake nail tip. What do you recommend 🥺
It's crazy I could do both my hands just fine but I be taking my sweet time too so a whole day of me time and my family knows not to mess with me when I'm doing my nails 😂😂😂😂💖
Oh yes i feel u. But now i just do my non dominant hand at one evening and the dominant hand on the other day. Im to fucked up if i do a whole day only nails xD
I tore my entire nail right off the nail bed, pulled it out from under the cuticle area. It was a work accident but mainly my own stupidity! That was nearly 30 years ago and my nail is still fragile and grows slower than the rest. It took 6 months originally for the new nail to cover the nail bed.
Thanks for this show as I have a very low broken nail and I thought I had to wait for it to grow out before being able to put acrylic on it and it is very sore and I keep catching it just cos I am trying not to, well now I can put acrylic on it but keep it short which I don't have them long any way but at least I can do my nails again, I have had no training all I know is what you have taught me and people keep asking me to do their nails but I am to nervous to do anyone else as all I have ever done is my own and I am happy with that. I am not perfect but I like them and people say they are nice so thank you Kirsty and I do them mostly when I am in bed due to knee and back surgery so I mostly live in my bed so well done Kirsty for teaching a disabled old lady (51yrs) to do her own nails and giving me a great new hobby. Love Jill xxx
Yes do an update Kirsty as I have broke a nail before never thought to do a clear acrylic makes sense now! I bought a lotus dish too from Asda!! 🤣🤣 £3 bargain 😁😂
What about a theme of drinks in drinking glasses? ie...beer mug, pilzenser, shot glass, high ball for alcoholic drinks and maybe a soft drink theme with can soda, bottle, glass.
Please do an update I’m weirdly invested 😂
Me too! I want to see the different stages of growth. Maybe photos each day and then a video when it's grown to the edge again.

WOW! You did a great job!
I learn so much just watching you Kirsty you are so awesome
After all these years you're still the best teacher ever Kirsty! *Hugs* My left hand does better than my right hand. I'm a lefty.
Keep posting updates on this nail. I love transformation videos.
I love listening to u two chatting and ur videos too x
I love this! I love videos where it's just banter between Kirsty and Adam.
thanks for doing this.....I broke my nail 2/3 way down right across....i have been making own nail up with acrylic..hoping it will eventually grow out ...so was glad to see how you treated such a trauma Kindest Regards
That means it would take a little better than 6.5 days to see them all. And I enjoyed every single one! Keep them videos coming Kirsty! Hello Adam.
Naio Nails has a lot of videos but the ones with Kirsty are 740 of them, it appears. I think at 10 minutes that's only about 123 hours. I've watched all of the Kirsty videos.
spleengrrrl me too 😂
THANK YOU!!! That's awesome that you took the time to answer this burning question! I came looking for this answer and if you hadn't beaten me to it I would have tried to figure it out. But I think Kirsty's videos average more than 10 minutes.
Oooooh you an OG! *fist bump* it has been fascinating seeing her confidence (crazy?) grow over the years. Love it!
I caught my hand in a drawer pull a few weeks ago and cracked my nail across the top of the nail by the cuticle, I was so glad it only cracked my acrylic and my real nail was safe and sound breaking a nail just the thought makes me cringe and want to vomit. 🤢
I cracked my acrylic right at the stress point and it in turn cracked my natural nail on my thumb that was 2 week ago and it still hurts!
Hope to see a new video with our favourite worst client soon x
Also I would LOVE an update video about your nail situation it
That’s so cool to be able to watch your nail repair itself 😎
I’m not getting notifications for every new video posted....but I love your channel so I check often 👯♀️
Please do a video with your fingernail’s progress!
I did a "free form" on mine... super dry bead and patted and sculpted it into shape. I'm pretty sure I got that from you. I believe it was from a "short, bitten nails" video - extending the free edge in order to apply a form
My thumb nail is sore I’ll wait and do this when it’s healed a bit
Thanks for uploading 💕
That looks like my pinky right now. I have a sore were my fingernail and nail bed was. A bad sore. I have to wait before I can put anything on the poor nail.I feel for that poor nail my sympanthies. Love your work as always Kirsty!
Brilliant idea. Keep us updated!x
Ur video was very informative. Can't wait to see what u do with ur set . Colors, bling, multi colors n bling .
Great video!!! Very educational and entertaining!!💅🏽💅🏽
Please 😁🙄😘
Well done. But be more careful missy.
Heal well soon Kirstys favourite nail 💐💐💐
Think if this is the second time you should try a nail tip with a deep ridge so as it sticks to the undamaged part of the nail, still allows the air to reach the damaged part of the nail and allowes the nail to grow not telling a professional what to do but I had the same prob
Thank you Kristy for your info on acry gel it has helped me so much
Kristy i love listening to you! You're amazing. I hope to see an update soon on your nail!
Finally! I remember watching you a while back. The last episode you had a client who was worsem lol. I love your work ❤️
I’m addicted to this channel
I have problems with shaping my nails on my non dominant hand, they tend to look abit misshaped 😢😢 but I remember having a poorly nail a few years ago an i wouldn’t put nothing in it because I was to scared to but now I just suck it up an do a Kirsty and just stick a nail on it an have it nice and short xxx
Your skin looks flawless! 🤩
I loved that you made a clear nail
I ripped my whole fingernail off back in Feb. It didn't come all the way off so I went to the ER and the Dr. there numbed my finger and pulled the whole nail out and then put it back in to use it for a pallet to make sure my fingernail grew back properly and also for protection. That was a fun time.
Perfect tutorial Kirsty 💕
I think the feeling is actually sensitive to exposure it doesn't usually get.
Brilliant call with the clear!
Fantastic, as always, luv
🤗😊
Love to see the progress.
Get well soon lol❤
Let's see the man off camera try a set. He's learned a lot, I wager. 😁
Excellent job as usual Kirsty love watching your videos:-):-)
This was a very helpful video. Thanks!
Poor little nail get better soon
Poor nail 😩😥😢 hope it's better soon! I did the same to my thumb recently. Can I do the same thing but using polygel instead? Love you and Adams banter back and forth and love the channel. You are a beautiful & gifted artist for sure. Love from California!
Idk if you should use polygel bc gel gets pretty warm under the lamp, and you can feel it really hot if it touches any skin around the finger, I can't imagine feeling that on the nail bed🤔 anyway if you try it let me know how it goes!
166+ hours of content! I always learn something here!
Your videos are so helpful! I have question, I broke my natural nail like this but it’s still together. I glued it back together in the split and and put a base coat and gel.and feels so much better. Can I still wear acrylic nails? With a a fake nail tip. What do you recommend 🥺
Absolutely love your work.... sometimes I want to ask questions but don't know if you'd reply 🎉
I love that the camera guy
Has conversations with you
It's crazy I could do both my hands just fine but I be taking my sweet time too so a whole day of me time and my family knows not to mess with me when I'm doing my nails 😂😂😂😂💖
It took 6 months originally for the new nail to cover the nail bed.
well i hope it will growing back soon and it takes time love David
Hi! I love your work. I live in Mexico very, very far away. Where do l find the product you usually use? Are there expensive? We love you !!!
Oh my goodness, that looks so painful, was it?. I love all of your videos/ tutorials. You've been a great help to me. God bless you guys.
Great idea to rest the left hand on the table. I never thought of that. Silly me.
