I think every nail tech needs to master doing your own nails before you work on others! You can feel how to file or use efile, pinching correctly and you can take your time to perfect your sculpting. It’s super hard to do your non dominant hand but if you can master that, just think how good your clients will look! My clients always say they can’t believe I can do it on myself! true I started doing my own acrylic nails about 3 years ago and the first time I did my own nails it took me about 4 hours bcs I wasn’t experienced and doing my dominant hand was hard. if you are someone that want to start but doesn’t have the patient it won’t work
I totally understand about the camera angles. I had to train myself to do my nails without being super close to them in order to keep my hands in focus for the camera 😊
It really gets easier as you practice. I used to get nail polish everywhere, but now I can do them almost perfectly. It helps to put the polish brush on the nail and then push it into the cuticle area a few times (not quite touching the skin of course). If you try to plop the brush right into the cuticle you'll probably get it on the skin.

After watching your videos for years...its been a dream of mine that I wish you were in the U.S. so you could do my nails. I'd drive to the other side of the country just to have you do my nails! I've tried several times thru the many years to get my nails done and each time its been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! Hardly any of them speak english, so they never do what you ask and do a VERY bad job. Then if your lucky and get one that speaks english, they still really botch the heck out of your nails. I've never met nor heard of anyone around where I live who's a good nail artist. I just ❤ your work!
He is going to be in a competition with the last male model that was on this channel in September. Adam says he's started to practice. I guess we shall see what happens come the competition in September.

Your work is so seamless and beautiful!! I am at a family Homeless Shelter with my daughter. I binge watch you vids when I can't sleep. I hope in the future I can find a way to get a tech license. Being homeless takes away so much more than material things. You certainly don't feel beautiful. But if I could come to women in my position and do their nails... Thank you for all the videos! I made myself hard gel nails thanks to your inspiration. I cannot afford the salon even for a simple manicure or pay for name brand cosmetics. I did manage to make decent nails anyway on my own. I know I will get better at it with time. Thanks for so many great ideas. I am still waiting for my bits of bling to come in the mail. I will have to use quite a bit less bling than you and the nails are going to have to be on the shorter side because I garden, but I think you would be proud of my newbie attempt so far. Yeah! I love it when you do your own nails! It shows how talented you really are! I'm still practicing when my husband sleeps during the day - he works the overnight shift. So I practice on my nails in the afternoon when he sleeps. The acrylic liquid still smells terribly for me so I wear a face mask. I am bound and determine to make an acrylic nail! I wish more of my clients would do longer nails😐 I've been a nail tech for 20yrs. and specialize in pink &white acrylic. Wasn't too into nail art but now that nail art is HUGE..I need to be a little more versatile. It was hard to learn..still learning but your videos have definitely helped me out and inspired me to want to do more! I think it’s that we want that awesome C curve and super slender nail to make our fingers look much slimmer as well. Btw I can touch my thumb to my wrist, lolz 😝. Soooo I just started using forms (I had no idea what those stickers were for before🤣) but someone showed me your video doing gel extensions with forms. So I started doing my own extensions that way and some of my nails I struggle getting the form on right but I think cutting it on the sides like you did in this video will fix that! Thank you!!!

This is a LOVELY set! I would do them in a slightly different order though. I can't do a rainbow anything that doesn't observe the R.O.Y. G. B.I.V. order. I just *can't* do it! For me, the blue would have been on the index finger and the green on the thumb. Visually, green makes things look smaller, too, which would be perfect for Kirsty's wider-than-she-likes thumbnail. I do wish we could have watched the bling application, though. I _know_ Kirsty can't leave her nails with nothing but a tiny bit of Mylar on two nails! That being said, I know she had Andrea waiting. Sooo... OK. When one learns to play a musical instrument, especially the piano for some reason, it's really hard to learn to operate the ring finger and the pinky finger independently. Piano students probably all had to do the "ball" exercise. You place all or your fingertips against the corresponding fingertips of the other hand, like you're holding a grapefruit, or a softball-sized ball, and practice lifting each set of fingers independently and then tapping them together three times, then you move on to the next finger. The ring fingers are _always_ the hardest fingers to train. Kirsty, please, *PLEASE* be careful and limit your intake of the Monster energy drinks. My adult son is addicted to the green version of Monster, which stinks to high heaven of rotten fruit to me. I can even smell it across the room! He will literally spend our last dollar to buy one. And he buys the HUGE, nearly one liter (24 ounce) cans with the screw-top lids. He can, and often does, drink *THREE* of those awful things in a day, and those big cans cost $3.50 here! I'm terrified that it's going to cause a heart attack or a stroke! The worst part is when he's flat broke and can't get a can of Monster, then he gets terrible migraine headaches due to the caffeine withdrawal. He won't take my suggestion of having a nice, _homemade_ iced coffee instead. We've had some MIGHTY battles over that awful, unhealthy, drink. He says I should be grateful that it's Monster and not booze and I guess he has a slight point, but Monster drinks aren't harmless, either, and that is a fact he will *never* admit.

I seriously thought I was the only one who kept pinching my nails like your doing 😂🤣😂 I’m so glad I’m not alone on this one ☺️. I think it’s that we want that awesome C curve and super slender nail to make our fingers look much slimmer as well. Btw I can touch my thumb to my wrist, lolz 😝. You guys are an awesome work duo “The serious and the silly 😜”.
Also I used to be a black and red kinda chick but ever since I got married my husband kinda pushed pink and pastels on me so now I think they’re quite nice. Tbh I love the colors more then the husband 👀🤫. He cheated on me (he claims it wasn’t physical wtfe) not to long ago and I’m really trying to make it work... he isn’t. I only tried for our children. I hate the fact that he ALWAYS uses my disability to his advantage. I can’t get him out of my freakin house!!!!! Oh well my problem not y’alls, lol 😝.

Soooo I just started using forms (I had no idea what those stickers were for before🤣) but someone showed me your video doing gel extensions with forms. So I started doing my own extensions that way and some of my nails I struggle getting the form on right but I think cutting it on the sides like you did in this video will fix that! Thank you!!!

This is a LOVELY set! I would do them in a slightly different order though. I can't do a rainbow anything that doesn't observe the R.O.Y. G. B.I.V. order. I just *can't* do it! For me, the blue would have been on the index finger and the green on the thumb. Visually, green makes things look smaller, too, which would be perfect for Kirsty's wider-than-she-likes thumbnail. I do wish we could have watched the bling application, though. I _know_ Kirsty can't leave her nails with nothing but a tiny bit of Mylar on two nails! That being said, I know she had Andrea waiting. Sooo... OK.
When one learns to play a musical instrument, especially the piano for some reason, it's really hard to learn to operate the ring finger and the pinky finger independently. Piano students probably all had to do the "ball" exercise. You place all or your fingertips against the corresponding fingertips of the other hand, like you're holding a grapefruit, or a softball-sized ball, and practice lifting each set of fingers independently and then tapping them together three times, then you move on to the next finger. The ring fingers are _always_ the hardest fingers to train.
Kirsty, please, *PLEASE* be careful and limit your intake of the Monster energy drinks. My adult son is addicted to the green version of Monster, which stinks to high heaven of rotten fruit to me. I can even smell it across the room! He will literally spend our last dollar to buy one. And he buys the HUGE, nearly one liter (24 ounce) cans with the screw-top lids. He can, and often does, drink *THREE* of those awful things in a day, and those big cans cost $3.50 here! I'm terrified that it's going to cause a heart attack or a stroke! The worst part is when he's flat broke and can't get a can of Monster, then he gets terrible migraine headaches due to the caffeine withdrawal. He won't take my suggestion of having a nice, _homemade_ iced coffee instead. We've had some MIGHTY battles over that awful, unhealthy, drink. He says I should be grateful that it's Monster and not booze and I guess he has a slight point, but Monster drinks aren't harmless, either, and that is a fact he will *never* admit.
