He has returned!! Honestly i need your help with my nails. Mine get just as bad as grant’s. And the salons near me don’t use those kinds of tips or forms, and they make the nails way too long
Clare White the thing is that using the traditional half tips (which most salons near me use) you can’t shorten them very much because it takes away from the stability. Which is really annoying for me because the half tips (in my opinion) add unnecessary thickness for shorter styles
@@clarewhite3004 if you have little nail bed but a very long extension, you're at high risk of ripping them off accidentally - both the tip and some/all your natural nail, too. I love Suzies undercover sassiness in this video. All of these products are great and much needed but I do question how much business a nail tech is losing because of products like this that make it more accessible for the regular consumer to do their own nails. Thanks Suzie for all you do.
LOL I thought I was the only one that noticed it! I'm a nail tech and I love doing these for people, inhaling all the drill dust and acrylic started making my chest hurt!! But alot of them feel like this about the new gel tips. Some nail techs are even commenting under other techs post saying they are cheating at doing nails! LOL
Can you please share how the underside looks? Does the product squeezing out touch the tip of the finger? Can you do a video on these showing how to keep the underside nice?
Nail tech here :) so when you apply pressure to the tip the product underneath will naturally spread and fill up any empty spaces, exactly what you want it to do. What you use under the tip to apply it to the nail is important though, if you use regular glue it can really irritate the skin and also cause problems with the nail growth because your fingernails actually grow upward through layers of keratin. If you glue a tip to the nail and also the skin normally covered by the free edge of a nail, it can pull the skin and essentially smother the nail once it starts trying to grow. Not good for oxygen flow or being able to wash bacteria out, also it won’t be a sturdy foundation for a nail tip as it will probably not stand up to daily life . :/ using a polygel or hybrid product to apply the tip is not as harsh as it does not normally stick to the skin once it’s cured. As long as you use the right amount for the client’s nail you shouldn’t have too much of a problem. If you have excessive product after the curing process and the client is uncomfortable or you just want to sculpt it a bit, you will need a drill bit to get in there and remove some of the product. If you have room on the under side of the nail, after the tip is applied but before the product is cured, to smooth out the product then definitely go for it but because of how short his natural nail is, I’m assuming she wanted to leave some kind of filler in place. There has to be something there to support the tip and apex of the nail tip or it will come off very easily and possibly painfully if it’s bumped or snagged on something. Once the client has a more workable length of nail, you should be able to use any other technique of extension or overlay. Hope that helps :)
@@parkerpants96 is there anything we can do to extend the tips ? Like I have very short nails n they grow very very slowly also keep breaking ...got fungal infection with gel nails so I don't want that again but was wondering if Der is smtgh which doesn't require buffing n can b only for the tips ??
Kiran Nathani you can try just getting regular nail tips and gluing them on before you apply the gel. Tips work with polygel/acrylic and keep the underside of your nail smooth as there’s no product applied underneath the free edge. If you don’t want to buff you would just have to apply the gel very smoothly, but honestly most nail extension applications require SOME kind of buffing or filing.. 🤷🏼♀️
Dang I know Grants naild and fingers too well 😂 Honestly I wish I lived near you. I got my nail set a smidge too long last time and it was horrible. Now I have my natural nails grown out enough that I don't need tips and I keep them relatively short Also I found out that I'm not allergic to dip powder which is amazing and makes my heart so happy. I love grant! Always some of my favorite videos. I used to bite my nails and skin because of anxiety but I personally found that caring for my nails makes me not bite at them anymore. So always doing my nails, doing cuticle work, moisturizing etc. of course it’s just my experience but maybe that might help someone else! Because now that I have nice skin and nails I don’t want to ruin them again!
I have never used a form before, bought some on amazon, nailed it on my first try! I've been watching Suzie do this for so long, it's just coming to me! lol
Beautiful!! I am a nail biter, too, and am trying really hard to stop. This current climate isn't exactly helping my efforts, but they're getting there!! Much love to Suzie, Craig, and Cameraman. Take care!!
Suzie, I do my own nails now with 1,2,3 go. I hear what you are saying about professional service vs what I am able to do with these tips at home. However, not only are the tips better shaped than the nail salon I can afford near me, but they last weeks longer. The cheap nail salon near me gives me nails that only last a week, but now I can have these nails for three weeks AND fill them myself to make them last longer. When you say that this system is only for a weeks wear, that is not true! This can be a great replacement for going to the salon if you are a student or have low pay income.
Glad to see Grant's back. I'm learning how to sculpt my own gel nails at home (and learning from TH-cam) and I've recently started using this type of nail to get used to seeing the proper shaped nails on my fingers. Already my structure has improved when I take the time to sculpt my own. And yes, I like short/medium nails 'cause they're practical - I'm a medical typist plus I tend the gardens and grass around here - with 5.5 acres, it's not always easy to be conscious of my long (for me) nails.
Great video Suzie. I am really liking my 1 2 3 go nails. Once they are on, they are on - they ain't going anywhere. Can you do a video on how to back fill these once they start to grow out at the cuticle? What product you would use to back fill and at what point do they have to be soaked off?
Can't believe I only just found this, I love your friendship with each other, great video, I'm getting more and more tempted with hybrid gel 🥰 lots of love. 🥰
Miss Suzie, thank you so much for this video. I’ve been playing with my nails a lot and they’re soooooo damaged and today one ripped and looks bitten 😭 and i have an interview! so i was in dire need of this video. thank you
The video you both couldn't recall was Grant's stiletto nail. I love watching all of your videos. Its because of you having Max on while using his 123 go that I got into using them as well. I love watching you. You are a wonderful person and awesome teacher. God bless and be safe.
Suzie I love your videos and I see your latest videos have not been that long. I would love to see the complete process even if its sped up but not completely cut the rest of the process out.
Those are awesome I can try to do those . But it take practice that's why I bought a manicure hand practice so I can become better doing them myself also... just wanna learn to do my own nail. I spent ton of money for all the products i need before I start practicing. Thank you so much. I can learn just watching your videos. GOD BLESS YOU😘🥰❤❤
Do not forget to cure sometimes from the underside, turn over the hand and "nuke" them again so the acryl gel has the change to cure fully.. I need to do that 8 out of 10 times, so just a extra tip 😊 But I would thin out the cuticle area and sand, and paint and decorate, I don't like them so plasticy but that's me 😊
Yay Grant is back! Also, stop biting your nails! Now is the time to break the habit, don't touch your face and wash your hands! Stay safe and healthy everyone!
I love seeing Grant again! He looks swell as usual. Just a bit of advice for people who aren't used to long nails like Grant, it honestly does inhibit your day to day activities, but, if you ever want to go longer it's better to do it gradually and let it grow that long. It's less of a jarring adaptation. Your body/mind will adapt and accommodate to longer nails, and you really force yourself to know "jewels not tools" so you don't hurt yourself or break them. If you work in a non desk job especially manual labor or something that requires lifting, it's really not recommended to have long nails. Also, I definitely ordered some polygels so that I can fill my acrylics this month of the quarantine. This video is very handy.
Good to know that the gel can still cure through the tip even though it's not totally clear! I have some tips but I assumed since they weren't as clear as clear is, that they wouldn't work...they're about as see-through as the ones you're using but they're more of a white shade. I wonder if they would work?
Grant is back! Hi, Grant! This is a great, informative video. Really liked that you shared so many tips (lol) on how to apply them properly. Random question (and just one that has been killing my curiosity) - it feels like the nails on our toes are thicker and more resilient to breaking than our fingers. Is there a reason for that, or is that just a misconception? Also, any tips on caring for our toe nails (or if it's even necessary to do so?)
Grant with the long thumb cracked me up. Whenever I would get my nails done at the salon I would ask the tech to make the thumbs just a smidge shorter than the rest of the nails. It made a huge difference in me being able to function with acrylic nails :)
I have a rule for it 😂😂, my thumb nails has to have the same length as the middle finger, measure from the cuticle until the end of the tip, so the whole nail, and it looks so good. I hate those longer thumbs
I'm lucky or not, I'm not sure yet, that the longest nail beds on my finger are my thumbs. So I literally cut them down to the nail bed and they're still longer than my other nails grown out, I then notice I had an easier time handling stuff.
thanks for this suzie people keep saying you can't and i do the same thing, now that they see you doing it maybe they will understand it can be done on bitten nails or short short clipped nails!
I haven been an extremely bad nail biter since i was a little kid like 4 or 5 bad bad.love this video! Thanks Suzie! My free edge is always wayy back and i have skin showing

I just realized this video was probably the last they were able to do together before Covid hit. I am new to this channel but quickly realized the ones with Grant are some of my favs! I could hang out with you, Grant & Cameraman any day! I have never done my own nails, just at the salon. This makes me want to try lol.
Ohmygosh I've been watching your videos religiously this month as I try to learn how to do my own nails and until the mention of a "timmie's french vanilla" I hadn't know you were Canadian!!! Love that... and now craving some timbits and a french vanilla haha.
Thank you Suzy!! I’m so bad at Apres GelX with the regular builder gel. About to get the Kiara Sky mini lamp to do these type nails, but I have some polygel I can use!! No more slippery messes with builder gel!!!!
I love your youtube videos, easy to understand and very educational. I have one suggestion. Can you make a video of how to care for toenails? And what good products to use to remove splits, hardened nails. I have a buffer but it seems not to make a difference.
Who in the hell is thumbs downing this video? It's a great idea for non professionals with short nails, helpful tips, they look adorable. What could you possibly dislike?!
I just placed a order for the 123 soft nails. Hoping to receive it soon (fast). I always wanted to try this on my daughter 🤞🏻 hopefully she’ll love them. I didn’t get the kit, just the nails. Regretting not buying the kit now and a few other things. First time ordering, figured I’d give this a try first.
THANK YOU for showing that even a very well educated and seasoned professional can have "oops" moments. You can't be perfect all of the time and it is perfectly OK, learn and move on :)
Thank you for this video. It was informative and funny. I have bitten nails similar to Mr. Grant. I don't know how to sculp, so this method will help me a lot.
What is a hybrid gel? I thought this was a poly gel type that they pop off and it helps sculpt. I’ve never seen this method. How long does this method last for?
It is poly gel hybrid gel is just brand. The difference is the plastic nail. The normal ones are made to pop off but these are soft gel not plastic so it stays on. They last for me 3+ week but instead of poly gel I use base coat which I find better
missmia196 yep! Look up “apres Gelx” they use something called extend gel which is a thicker type basecoat/builder gel but I don’t really feel like spending all the money and buying it that so I just use basecoat i’ve seen many people do it and it really works I love it
Hi, Ms. Suzie. I'm new to nail art. I ordered a bunch of plastic full press on faux nails. I didn't know there are gel ones till now. Will the ones I bought work too with gel glue & gel polishes with the right preparation & curing? Thank you in advance!
Good job I am really pleased by how you prove yourself on youtube I am also the part of youtube but of different catagory and I really wish to grow on this platform just like you did..Greetings
Ooo she was PISSED about that French vanilla! Grant completely read her wrong. I FEEL you girl! 😫 but you are BEAUTIFUL don’t be hard on yourself ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this! I stopped biting my nails back in September and was doing amazing until boom! i got a broken nail that I went crazy on and in the same week sprained my shoulder making it painful to do my nails. As a result my nails are naked and I’ve been biting again 😩
Great video, Susie. I use tips with my dip and was always curious if there were other ways to do it for a quick to rather than the time it takes for mine some days (and I as well have very short, bitten nails). I also finished the last dip + experiment from your viewers questions on the dip video last year (sorry it took so long guys, I'm poor so it took a bit to get the right diob+ monomer): The result is...You CANNOT use dip powder with Monomer (I know, I was sad as I was hoping I could use it for tiny fills when I miss a spot). It turns...rubbery. Like a melty plastic rubber and never quite dries (except in my brush despite cleaning...😒). It also screwed up my drill bit when I filled, all gunky. BTW, the video referenced by Grant was Removing Product with an E-Fike
Great video I had no idea about the 1/3 length we should have on short nails. My problem is that I have short bitten nails and I want them long like Cardi B🤦🏾♀️ BTW I’ve learned over the years how to use my keyboard at work with long nails lol
I've noticed I've had to use base gel on the natural prep nail and also file the inside of the full tip and apply gel on that, cure and then use polygel, it won't pop off like a plastic nail form or act like a form
Hi Grant!! I'm still new to the channel and binge watching.. Susie can you or have you done a video regarding the forms and Hydrogel nails. Show how to pop them off and file them etc. ❤
That was so nice to show some flaws in what she just did. Like telling everybody I'm not perfect with this but we all can learn to be better.

If you happen to be in Thurrock UK, I can help 😉
I've never had fake nails, but... I thought they were supposed to make them the length you want, as long as it's stable! What's the point otherwise?
Clare White the thing is that using the traditional half tips (which most salons near me use) you can’t shorten them very much because it takes away from the stability. Which is really annoying for me because the half tips (in my opinion) add unnecessary thickness for shorter styles

The way he said "you're out of your comfort zone!" Was so precious. They're so cute together
I just realized this video was probably the last they were able to do together before Covid hit. I am new to this channel but quickly realized the ones with Grant are some of my favs! I could hang out with you, Grant & Cameraman any day! I have never done my own nails, just at the salon. This makes me want to try lol.
Lol Grant is a great guy. We have lots of laughs. If you do try a product I recommend EZ Gel and maybe Suzies Quick Tips if you like
OH MY GOSH! Grant’s back! I’m so excited!
I think these might be my favourite nails. Clean, classic and easy to wear.
We love Grant! He should be featured more often. 😘😘
Everyone is saying they missed grant lol I didn’t
Yay GRANT IS BACK!!!!! Your hands look so much happier now! Good job man.
We've been shut down at my salon in Cali 😢best to you Susie stay safe and healthy
This is very good to know, I'll let my nail biting friends know about this video
You are definitely my favorite. Thank you for sharing all of your expertise
Ohmygosh I've been watching your videos religiously this month as I try to learn how to do my own nails and until the mention of a "timmie's french vanilla" I hadn't know you were Canadian!!! Love that... and now craving some timbits and a french vanilla haha.
So yummy - I rarely have them as it’s too many sugars lol for me. But so good. I’m on the west coast
Thank you Suzy!! I’m so bad at Apres GelX with the regular builder gel. About to get the Kiara Sky mini lamp to do these type nails, but I have some polygel I can use!! No more slippery messes with builder gel!!!!
Im so glad you did this video! I just did the same technique on myself a few weeks ago!
I have no idea how I landed here. I don’t even do my nails, but I was pulled in! You made me feel like I could to totally do this myself.
I just did my first set after watching a bunch of her videos 😂
I love the fun you and Grant have with eachother. You can tell when people are really friends and actually know eachother. Fun video and educational.
Welcome Back Grant ! Was so happy to see this! I was wondering if they catered for man size thumbs. Will be picking up some of these now 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I love your youtube videos, easy to understand and very educational. I have one suggestion. Can you make a video of how to care for toenails? And what good products to use to remove splits, hardened nails. I have a buffer but it seems not to make a difference.
Loved this! Question: why not just use the dual forms with the poly gel?
Who in the hell is thumbs downing this video? It's a great idea for non professionals with short nails, helpful tips, they look adorable. What could you possibly dislike?!
Jade Rebecca Probably because a man getting his nails done? A lot of homophobes out there.
Gille87 oh yeah, I didn’t even consider that. Jeez, it’s 2020, get a grip 🙄
How did they turn out? Do you recommend it?
THANK YOU for showing that even a very well educated and seasoned professional can have "oops" moments. You can't be perfect all of the time and it is perfectly OK, learn and move on :)
Thank you for this video. It was informative and funny. I have bitten nails similar to Mr. Grant. I don't know how to sculp, so this method will help me a lot.
This saved me a lot of time and nerves.. and no glue so smart
Stay safe everyone! ✨💕
femketjeNL you too 🥺👉👈💖✨
What is a hybrid gel? I thought this was a poly gel type that they pop off and it helps sculpt. I’ve never seen this method. How long does this method last for?
Google.
It is poly gel hybrid gel is just brand. The difference is the plastic nail. The normal ones are made to pop off but these are soft gel not plastic so it stays on. They last for me 3+ week but instead of poly gel I use base coat which I find better
@@jarielysmartinez505 base coat?
missmia196 yep! Look up “apres Gelx” they use something called extend gel which is a thicker type basecoat/builder gel but I don’t really feel like spending all the money and buying it that so I just use basecoat i’ve seen many people do it and it really works I love it
@@jarielysmartinez505 where do you get your gel tips?
Hi, Ms. Suzie. I'm new to nail art. I ordered a bunch of plastic full press on faux nails. I didn't know there are gel ones till now. Will the ones I bought work too with gel glue & gel polishes with the right preparation & curing? Thank you in advance!
Can you put a nailform underneath to protect the skin and make it smooth at the same time? Love your video's! They helped me so much
Good job I am really pleased by how you prove yourself on youtube I am also the part of youtube but of different catagory and I really wish to grow on this platform just like you did..Greetings
Ooo she was PISSED about that French vanilla! Grant completely read her wrong. I FEEL you girl! 😫 but you are BEAUTIFUL don’t be hard on yourself ❤️❤️❤️
My FAVE Tim’s drink is large French vanilla half double double. ITS AMAZING.
Those are the best looking nails Grant has had to date!!! Love the look of these 🥰🥰🥰
I am just learning and watching videos on nails. Thank you for doing your part in keeping us from going crazy 😜. Beautiful nails.
Thank you for this! I stopped biting my nails back in September and was doing amazing until boom! i got a broken nail that I went crazy on and in the same week sprained my shoulder making it painful to do my nails. As a result my nails are naked and I’ve been biting again 😩
You can completely fix the one with the gap the 123go are AMAZING! you could use gel, acrylic, or happy gel to fix that!
Love how you explain every step and all the tips
I've noticed I've had to use base gel on the natural prep nail and also file the inside of the full tip and apply gel on that, cure and then use polygel, it won't pop off like a plastic nail form or act like a form
GRANT IS BACK! I have such a huge crush on him 😍😍😍😍😍
Lol 😂
Watching this , your voice actually reminds me of Kirstie Alley's voice. It's nostalgic ♡ Love your work and creativity!
I love she keeps in her mistakes so we all learn.
here's a much deserved appreciation for this dose of relaxation, especially during this challenging time for everyone. stay safe Suzie & CameraMan ❤️
Hi Grant!! I'm still new to the channel and binge watching.. Susie can you or have you done a video regarding the forms and Hydrogel nails. Show how to pop them off and file them etc. ❤
I just love you so much! You’re literally like the Dolly Parton of nail techs
When you were filing down his nail I was worried you were gonna file your nail in the process 😅
Great video! Thanks for sharing suzie 😍
Love this set. I love the simplicity of the 1,2,3 Go Nails 😍😍
Omg!!! I didnt know you could do this!! I have poly gel and knowing I can do this makes me happy!!! How long do you think they could stay on??
*saw "Bitten nails"
*Me : GRANT!!!!!!*
