There's just something so badass about Champion Victor getting back up "Why be humble? I am evolved! A better man!" Then getting blasted from behind. I don't know what it is, but that cutscene is so satisfying
I did love the whole victor scene
Even just the part where the second phase starts and the video shows the fluids pumping directly into him, and as soon as it's finished he rages and breaks free from all the cable in a fit of primal rage.... it's just SO satisfying!
I almost beat him on my first try and needed just 3/4 tries.... but for each and everytime, I let the video of the second phase play!!!!
This game is just TOO GOOD.
I have never seen a game where EVERY weapon is beautiful and COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE! And there are LOTS of them!
AND you can change the fucking HANDLE between them!
That's an astonishing number of possible, TOTALLY UNIQUE combinations!
I just can't wrap my head around how GOOD they made this game without having prior development knowledge of not only no AA/AAA game, but not a single souls like!
And yet they nailed the formula so fucking good and out a totally unique and amazing twist on it.
I'm truly in awe! Armored Core 6 was my GOTY, but Lies of P ..... I don't know anymore man, they're both such amazing gems

That last weapon you talked about being super hidden was the last one I needed too. I saw that I was missing the achievement and was like “no way missed a normal weapon pick up. Surely enough it was the one in the cathedral.
Thats why i shared it :D Because it was exactly a pain point for me!
It took me nearly FIVE playthroughs to get this thing, because I screwed up Venigni's questline like 2-3 times. I didn't mind though - the game is awesome!
I almost screwed up eugenie twice :D Horrible smal mistakes!
I did the same. On my third and I still need 5 trophies. 3 will happen at the end and the other two are so easy to screw up

The endings depend on humanity and the decisions you make with Sophia and Gepetto in the end. You dont have to do a all lies and all truth playthrough. Also you can back up a save and get two endings in one playthrough
All lies = humanity more or less
So simplified - lie all the time
SPOILER ALERT
with save backup you can do all 3 ending in one time, just back up before speak to sophia and you need anyways all humanity possible for 1 final.
Real boy ending: just Give your Heart to Geppetto at the "Under the Abyss" after defeating Simon Manus, Awakened God. no humanity needed.
Free from the puppet string ending: just leaving Sophia alive and then refusing to give Geppetto your heart. i'm not sure you need humanity here.
Rise of P ending: you need High level of Humanity before interacting with Sophia and when you speak to her choose the dialogue option "Give her Peace". Refuse to give your heart to geppetto and kill the nameless puppet.
I´m at the end of my second run currently at level 170. Honestly I´m having a blast with this game. If somebody told me while playing this is the new From Software game, I would have doubt it for a secondo. This is a clear love letter to from software from a very talented SH. I can´t wait to se a dlc or their next game. I give this game a 9/10.
Now for the Goty debate I don´t think it will never win it but I don´t care.

Sophia is the daughter of Valentius the previous head alchemist not Manus she tells you this herself when you arrive on the alchemist island. What you tell Manus after beating him has no affect on the ending what so ever I confirmed this just 4 hours ago when I finished my Advance playthrough and told him the truth and still got the Rise of P ending, this lie is just one last chance to get a bit more humanity in case your a bit short for the golden lie.
lol that was the one weapon I had to look up too.
If P himself isn't the tin man in the next game I'll be genuinely surprised.
Umpf i hope they don't merge the games - Just have em all be connected through Paracelsus but thats about it and after X Parts kinda meet em up?
@@P4wnyhof I was thinking more like Dorothy is in the middle of a tough boss fight when P just suddenly grapple hooks into the middle of the fight as a surprise support. then maybe for the rest of the game he can fill the role of spirit summon for select story appropriate bosses. Or hell just an npc but it would be a missed opportunity to not have him help in at least one Boss fight.
Having finished the game 3 times, at no point do you need a playthrough where you're only telling the truth. Rise of P ending hinders on always telling lies until you get the message "you feel warmth/your heart is pounding", A Real Boy ending only depends on if you give Geppeto your heart or not in the end, and Free From the Puppet String ending hinders on you lying sufficiently (up until the "you feel warmth" tier) so you can HAVE the choice of giving sophia peace in the end and refusing giving your heart to Geppeto. If you haven't lied enough and gained enough humanity, you won't have the choice between refusing Geppeto or giving him your heart, which will ruin your run. I only ever told the truth to Eugenie to get the extra record, Venigni about who started the puppet frenzy (I already had high humanity at that point) and Geppeto when he asked if he was a trustworthy father lol.
I know this is like a month old video, but Sophia isn't Simon's daughter. He was obsessed with her and wanted her to love him, but also NEEDED her powers as a Listener, and her ability to control the flow of time using Ergo. Sophia is Valentinus Monad's daughter, the former leader of the Alchemists before Simon assumedly killed him and took his place. Sophia volunteered and worked at the Monad Charity House (a boarding school) where she first met Carlo and Romeo.

Just a correction about how to get the endings. There is no such thing as "always lying playthough" or an "always tell the truth one". The factors that determines which ending you get are:
Level of humanity (yes, you get humanity by lying, but in some cases you get it by telling the truth, listening to records and getting the correct answer on riddles).
Certain decisions:
You just have to make sure that you make as much decisions that rise your humanity as possible before your encounter with Sophia after beating certain boss in the final area. Being at this decision, one of the two will lead you to rise of p ending and the other to the free from the puppet strings one. That's it, you can have tons of humanity and still getting the free of the puppet strings ending.

I got the game on game pass. Then proceeded to get 3 1/2 days gameplay in 2 weeks and 100% it.

19:10 I didn't even know there was a trap on that bridge! Sometimes they only trigger after you have already passed over them, and that must be one of them. Your jump must have been an unfortunate situation where you triggered it but didn't clear it.
You don’t have to tell the truth actually the only thing that matters is choosing wether you give her peace or let her live. Obviously if you’re going for the Rise of P ending you need high humanity (extremely high)there are 4 levels to your humanity 1- your springs are reacting 2- your ergo is whispering 3- you feel warmth and last but not least 4- your heart is pounding, then give her peace (if your hair turns grey when you do this you’re in the clear) refuse to give your heart and boom. You have risen.
To get free from the puppet strings ending you can lie all you want as long as you let her live and refuse to give your heart. Real boy ending - do whatever the heck you want lol just give your heart at the end.
You can do that - Or seperate it in your Mind into a LIES or TRUTH playthrough

I think this game should get goty because it’s so out of nowhere and it’s scales at close to one of the best souls game even though it’s not from software(at least in my opinion)

A helpful tip you can actually can actually all 3 of the endings in your first play through if you cloud save before you the give your choice to let Sophia live or give her peace. Make sure you have high humanity for though

Lies of P is an amazing game and the second best souls - like ever made behind Nioh 2. It also is not a perfect game nor GotY. I will always treasure it but let's not exaggerate that hard.
Nioh 2 cannot compare story wise to lies of p in any way
I completely disagree, Lies of P is miles ahead of Nioh 2. It's closer to the level of Sekiro than it is to Nioh. That is a hill I'm willing to die on.
The only difficult thing for me is the first few chapters.

You don't have to only lie or tell the truth, just one more than the other. The only thing that needs you to lie the whole game is the achievement for the golden lie

Good video but from what i can tell, you dont have to always tell the truth to get any of the endings.
You can lie/listen to records to get the Rise of P ending as long as you make certain choices. Then you can lie for both other endings, the main difference being giving geppeto your heart or certain dialogue choices with sophia late game. As far as i understand at least.
The "only" truth is an exageration and helps people to stay away from humanity :D
i forgot the letter from sophia in my rise of p run, so i need to do 3 more runs, thats what i get for starting ng+ after credits

For the Story you have to talk to arlechino and then to vignini that usually finishes the story as far as i remember!

How exactly do you do a cloud save. Is it like disabling auto save then leaving without saving
I play on steam so I am just trying to get 100%. I wish they gave trophies lol. I am in the ng+ truth run. I am just getting to the Door guardian. I am not looking forward to the last 3 boss fights

I can finally put this game down. As much as I loved playing this game, getting all the achievements was really tough with all the choices you have to make. You can easily mess it up if you forget one of the answers or by accidentally choosing the ring thing.took me 4 play through all the way up to when you get Eugenie’s achievement and Redford for telling the truth.
I panicked on my truth playthrough... only to notice that i just have to get Sophia endings right :D

@@studivanbro I work and have a family, I am on my way to platinum. It doesn't take that long. If you can play 10 hours a week then you will hit platinum in 1.5 months easy.

There is no way this game makes game of the year, only select people can play it or finish it, most people are beating the bosses with throwable’s because the perfect guard system is too tight and some are just giving up on the game, it’s a beautiful game but the mechanics hurt the hell out of this game, my vote goes to Spider-Man 2 for GOTY and it doesn’t even have to be out yet for me to say this.
Everyone can finish the game - It has a summon, throwable abuse and more :) If you fail to finish the game its completely on you!

I haven't played it but isn't the game not even finished? I heard chapter 3 is a mess. I think it should go to an actually complete game like lop. I know the game realistically has no shot at winning though. If Stanfield wins goty then I have lost all faith in the video game industry.
@@danieldominguez2419Maybe make your own opinion by playing the game instead of hearsay? Act 3 is complete there is nothing messy around it, they even patched the performance. I admit the pacing feels kinda off compared to the other acts and some storylines(for companions) end abrupt but clearly better than anything released lately.

The nose on the portrait does not grow due to how much You lie. It’s actually tied completely to the amount of humanity you gain throughout your play-through. It’s really strange seeing as Pinocchio’s nose is supposed to grow whenever he lies but in this game it grows when you gain humanity.
Which is when you lie as well - can completely grow the nose with just lying
When you answer the right question to arlecchino increase your humanity, when you pray in front of statue or listen music increase humanity too so is not only when you lie
This is not a 10/10 game.
