I just did mines today, thanks to your video the hardest thing was that clip taking it out but watching you do it helped. My brackets had a lot of rust so took a wire brush on a drill and a file to clean it.
Great video. Great angles, lighting and detail. You made it look so simple so I gave it a try myself on my C4 Cactus. Slightly different but I followed your video and everything went smooth as the pad grease...lol Great tip about putting the copper spray on the wheel mount. The other wheel had ceased to the old disk. That wont happen again though. Thanks so much.
Im glad to hear my videos are giving people the confidence to have a go and tackle these types of jobs head on. Best way to learn is by giving things ago and you save a Bunch of money as well as improving your skills. Great to hear everything went well.
Couple of mistakes. Do not push caliper in first place. Undo brake bleeder first, drain a bit of brake fluid, push caliper a bit to take it of the disc, then before pushing the caliper CLEAN the rubber and end of piston, then undo bleeder again and drain filthy fluid into some bottle. Tighten up the bleeder. You will avoid all the dirt going into your ABS/ESP pump. Check brake fluid level.
u don't need threadlocker for the 2 screws of the disc. They are just for positioning. This will make it difficult next time. Otherwise, great vid with excellent animations. Top👍
Thanks for the video! I changed the front discs and pads but in my case the bolts to caliper carrier were 18 mm. Just a warning to check it so you dont try a 19 mm right away and round the bolts. Greetings from Sweden
Just need to whack the back of the disk rather than hit from the front - both of mine came off with a whack from a rubber mallet. Most difficult part of all this was getting the calliper spring clip off I found - need to squeeze it in the middle I later found.
Great video! Is it exactly the same at the back? And I'm guessing you need to close you brake fluid cap again in the engine bay, before pumping the pedal at the end?
Great video, im thinking of doing this on my C4 2015 hatchback mk11 type diesel, is it the same do you know? also i dont have a torque wrench so is it safe to just tighten them as much as possible? and do you need thread grip? or brake cleaner? i have copper grease, for back of pads and pad sides and housing and hte hub as well
Just popped here to check the screws types and sizes but you've included every detail. Great video. Thanks

I have a c4 cactus too and am thinking of having a go at this
Huge thanks from Sweden, won't have to spend the ~1000€ the shop wants for the job!
Excellent, thanks, going to give this a go following a crazy quote from my local garage £280 - that’s £140 per hour labour!
Yeah I would save the money and do it yourself.
Crackin video! Great angles for capturing the process and really good visual animation to help with clarifying everything.
Thank you.
Best tutorial I ever seen!
Nothing to add. It's all been said in other comments, but the video is worth another comment for the algorithms to work on. 😊
Super Darstellung, spreche kein englisch, aber System verstanden. Danke
Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich das Video angesehen haben, und ich freue mich über den Kommentar.
Fantastic video. About to pick up one of these cars as a stop gap and expect some repairs like this may be needed.
Fantastic best video on the subject I have seen. Thank you.
Thanks :)

Great video! I got quoted 900 odd quid by quikfit for all 4 plus’s pads, I’ll be doing my own this time 😂
Holy fuck! Thats crazy. Yeah keep your money in your pocket and do it yourself for sure. Day light robbery
Great demo and information Mike. Keep them coming
Thank you 😊

Hey, thanks for the comment :)
Yes mine needed a 18mm socket too
Did mine yesterday and yes the caliper bracket bolts were 18mm. Good video.
Thanks for detailed video. All info that you need is here.
Glad it was helpful!
@@mikebolt9753 what brake system is this?bosch or ate?
Great video and informative. Well shot with some great animation.
Great guide, i dont conpliment many videos, but this was great!
thank you :)
As a retired motor vehicle lecturer this is the best video I’ve seen, except he should have been wearing gloves.
Thanks 👍
Why not wear gloves?
Absolutely smashing video. Excellent attention to detail. Thank you very much. Subbed
Can you link the breakpads and discs.
Sorry link to the site
Fantastic demo you should do more cars if possible.
Cheers for that. Yeah ill try and do some more car stuff at some point.

Tip: If rims are seized you might lose all wheel nuts a bit, start the engine, roll forward a bit and brake harshly. Then follow normal procedure.
Great Video, is the rear the same

That is correct
Slightly more tricky the back if you have an electronic handbrake - it’s definitely doable but not as easy as the front.
Brilliant vid mike
Thank you mate. Appreciate that
Do you know how to replace abs pump. Please help me
great details video, thank you.
How do you release the electric hand brake on the car when the engine is off
Great video ,thanks for making it ,I'm going to give it a try
Thanks.
is yours 5 seater or grand one?

Muy profesional
Tank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
1. You should clean the disc beforehand
2. You forgot to close the brake fluid cap
Need to be careful with all this grease... When it melts it will fly everywhere.
شكرا لك عمل رائع
