Currently in the process of trying to swap a 4age silvertop 20v into my stock 95 corolla My mechanic says everything looks great, I just need a new wiring harness, a new ecu and a new fuse box and it should he smooth sailing Thank you sharing your build and recommending these ECUs you are a life saver and a bro
Super exciting to follow your content man! My AE111 will be getting a tune soon too! Tomei Poncams, HKS 4-1 long runner headers and a 2.25 inch exhaust system. Strongly recommend the cams! Keen to see the FXGT tear up the AutoX/track again ;)
Love that headers red glow :) , I did an 4A-GE blacktop engine swap from my Toyota Corolla Ae92 Sx Seca six years ago and i love it, I wish i had the resources and parts to do such awesome upgrades for it ...
congrats... nice power gains I predicted 135-140 whp... looks like I was off juuuust a bit... the good thing is, now when you do other mods you can retune for those...
I say job well done in how you managed to tune it within 5hp of a professional tuner! Those few extra ponies will definitely come in handy. Especially with that 15hp bump about 3/4 way up the revs, for what you're doing it's a much appreciated addition. And similarly so is the case for anyone doing the same thing as you! All in all it's welcome information for a lot of 4A-GE enthusiasts. I'da gone aftermarket ECU but the ECU+adapter/wiring are usually around 1500 for 20v's (Just checked MRP and I was pretty much dot on). But that's to be expected, the issue is the additional 500-750 tune which I have a hard time justifying up against the extra few ponies.
I NEED AN AE82 in my life! The cool factor is insane, too bad it would get stolen immediately in South Africa :( Guess I gotta work harder and go to Japan hehe
Get yourself a decent one and take it over. I've had mine for almost 9 years now. Did all sorts of upgrades. Coilovers motor swap ect. Best car on the road ma se kin😎
Such a tidy car. I had an ae82 (Corolla gt in NZ) limited edition, leather seats and red carpet.. wish I'd kept it. It would lose traction in 2nd gear any time you wished 😂 Looking at a bzg touring wagon with a 20v 6 speed, so your videos definitely have me excited to get my hands on one! Awesome content
i absolutely love this kind of videos. awesome content. however, i saw this was performing 135 hp 3 years ago, how is that its doing the same power now with all this stuff in top of it?
Nice! It is your fault I dove into getting a stand-alone ECU as well... Good thing I got the MonsoonX, but I still find the 6 aux outputs kinda limiting (and I'm still on dizzy). :P
Hey Sushpants How did you guys install the knock sensor with the purple wire? I thought the blacktop 20v had it's own knock sensor or is that one not accurate enough for the ECU? Also now it's time to install cams and see how much power you gain.
I have a question, if it is a 4age 20v blacktop, why it only produces 125-136hp if in theory that engine should give 160-170h? I don't understand, I don't know if I'm ignoring something?
So now that you’ve used both a Megasquirt and a Link, what one would you recommend for the average DIY guy? I’m building a 7age, 16v with ITB’s, and planning to do COP and eventually turbo, maybe, but not right away for the turbo. Thanks for all you do and share, cheers.
Whats your strategy for ignition timing limit for the road tuning? Did you had any knock sensor in action or you just tune the fueling and let the ignition stay with whatever comes with the mapping?
tbh I think that you have wasted a lot of money on ITBs if your car only made 135 bhp with such a good exhaust system and a free flow air intake, that engine is worth 135 bhp without ITBs. Perhaps if you had wild CAMs installed then ITBs may be worth investing in.
Always a happy day when I see my favourite Ae82 on TH-cam post
Thanks Humphrey!
Only Ae82**

Lol, i saw it too 🤣

Love seeing the FX-16 come together and the Toyota meetup at the end was a nice surprise! 🔰👍🏻

Must comment. Must help TH-cam algorithm see more AE82...!
Definitely my favorite corolla/4age channel in youtube!
the best 20v on TH-cam by far ... and I'm all the way from South Africa
That levin looked clean !

I still haven't decided on which cams I'll be installing but the Poncams do seem appealing! Sounds like your AE111 is going to be awesome!
Yes, another upload!!
I gotta do this to my blacktop

YESSSS, BEST DAY OF THE WEEK
Great results! All she needs is some cams to really pep up the power
Conrats man!
now we want a 0-100
That’s how you do an intro 😎
Thanks 👍 for the video info I'm going to get an atom x ECU for my 4a ge ,I was checking all over for a compatible ECU, thanks again 👍

Nice to see you make progress :) !! May 2021 bring more of the good stuff to all of us
That digital dash was so cool!
Oh my God the Tach is working perfectly! LOL
awesome vid mate!! well done on the road tune. Cant wait to see what mods you have planned for the future!
Thanks Smelly! I think the next mod will be steering related.
The engine sound is a thing you will never forget
Great content love the vids and the car
Thanks Raees!
Great work you doing and enjoy video every time blessing
Great content man!!
Seeing the glowing pipes says a lot to where the bottle necks are in exhaust gas flow. 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀🍀🍀😎
What’s next from here, cams?
7:44 THAT'S LITERALLY MY FAVORITE CAR EVER! they're on Instagram and it has a really unique story behind it.

FINALLY SHE'S BACK ON THE ROAD AND SCREAMING!
Awesome upload. Always a pleasure to watch progress on your Toyota!

@@locosvatos2391 Awe lol, I'm gonna need a locked garage then, sounds good!
Those arc intakes are nice :D
Nice touch on the Mazda's speedo😁
Wait what thats a ton of AE86 at one meet. I am jelly.
Also that Levin and Tofu Trueno.
Drools...
Exactly! It was nice to see them so well taken care of.
Such a tidy car. I had an ae82 (Corolla gt in NZ) limited edition, leather seats and red carpet.. wish I'd kept it. It would lose traction in 2nd gear any time you wished 😂

"i didnt bring my walker this time" 😂
Awesome! Do you plan on getting cams?
The Link st205 pnp has virtually the same pinout as the 4age blacktop 20v ecu.
I gain 10whp from a used Haltech Sport 500 ECU. Now its 150whp. Didn't even use COP.
Amazing video as always, keep it up
can you do a video of road tuning step by step instruction?
I noticed you don't have the aftermarket header on the Corolla👍
Awesome, now time for some cams + headwork? :D
1:33
Haha 4age goes BRRRRRRRRE
Sick
I have yet to see a cleaner FX, mine will be there one day
how much was the dyno tune? is it worth it over the free(ish) road tune?

If my eyes don't deceive me, you live in California? I am a state up in Oregon, if you head this way would love to see the car man so cool!!
Hey Sushpants
How did you guys install the knock sensor with the purple wire? I thought the blacktop 20v had it's own knock sensor or is that one not accurate enough for the ECU?

134whp? damn that's a very healthy number for a 1.6L na i4 engine
白色改裝車,引擎改裝的不錯,引擎很兇?GTR,外加渦輪,高凸輪軸,?
改裝的不錯
Wait, you gave the cheaper AdamX ecu WITH coil on plugs? Or did you end up getting the better ecu?
What's the little guy on the white board gonna be holding up next?
Haha, I think you’re the first to point him out!
cams?
I have a question, if it is a 4age 20v blacktop, why it only produces 125-136hp if in theory that engine should give 160-170h?
I don't understand, I don't know if I'm ignoring something?
Yeah
Nobody's answering this
Its essentially stock power at the moment,
The hp readings are at the wheels. The stock hp rating for a Blacktop (165) is at the crank.
How did it get 135whp before all of this when you were doing the exhaust ? So is it all no gains or something happened to the engine?
Will this ecu keep Air conditioning and IACV controls?
So now that you’ve used both a Megasquirt and a Link, what one would you recommend for the average DIY guy? I’m building a 7age, 16v with ITB’s, and planning to do COP and eventually turbo, maybe, but not right away for the turbo. Thanks for all you do and share, cheers.
There's also a Speeduino if you're on budget and don't mind doing (almost) everything yourself.
@@snap_oversteer thanks, I’ll look into that too!
Whats your strategy for ignition timing limit for the road tuning? Did you had any knock sensor in action or you just tune the fueling and let the ignition stay with whatever comes with the mapping?

DATS ME
I HALPED
Which fuel should we use for this engine 4age blacktop. Can you tell me the Ron number. Simple gasoline or Hi octane???
How close do the engine mounts line up with the 20v to the original 16v mounts?
They line up perfectly. The only side that doesn’t line up is for the c160 trans mount.
Small question: Can a 4A-GE intake system (whether it be 20 valve itbs or 16 valve single throttle) work with a 4A-C?
Corolla fx16?
Why didn't you changed to your smr2u header?
How did you monitor knock for your road tune?
Will the AtomX ECU work for a 7A-FE or even a 7A-GE build?
LSD install when?!?
How in the world do you smog it lol.
Ecu is good in that enginea
What’s next?
i thought 20v black top made 160hp
I thought 4AGE black tops had up to 165 hp @@
anyone running this setup?
What do you do when it comes time to smog it?
Move to Florida :p
Needs more carbs😉
Or you can go with a speeduino that costs $120.
tbh I think that you have wasted a lot of money on ITBs if your car only made 135 bhp with such a good exhaust system and a free flow air intake, that engine is worth 135 bhp without ITBs. Perhaps if you had wild CAMs installed then ITBs may be worth investing in.
ITBs are standard on 20V engines
