The spirit of the car was deleted with this engine/chassis conversion. I used to own one of these when they were still a common sight on the roads. The spacey looks were just an external detail, it was mostly that magic carpet ride and the smooth quiet engine that made those cars so special to drive. This one is just a hollow shell, like some stuffed dead animal from a taxidermist. Sorry, excellent work but kinda creepy frankensteinmobile you put together..

I would take the Citroen over the red Testarossa in the vid hands down, any day, and any time. The Citroen exudes sexiness, cool, and exclusivity.....the Ferrari just looks like a cheap hooker. Beautiful car and great job at restoration. It was done tastefully & the restoration did not overwhelm the original design. Perfect work all around. A +++++.

Très beau travail de restauration. Il faut féliciter l'atelier qui a réalisé les travaux, mais c'est quand même kitsch. L'habitacle, les jantes, le moteur n'ont rien à voir avec l'original. Mais elle est intéressante et élégante.

A Chappie here in Springs South Africa rebuilt a DS. Removed the Citroen engine, Fitted it with a Ford V6 engine with a custom built adapter plate. The engine as far as I was informed had to run reverse cycle and was adapted to that due to the gearbox. The Suspension was removed and replaced with a conventional suspension. Took him a few years,but eventually the vehicle was mobile. Sadly we were not able share the photos here as the phone i took the pics with was damaged. I think the car is still running around in Springs
Bruce we have family out that way Springs must ask one of them if the car is about, my thinking has been to shoehorn a Honda or similar 4 or V6 engine into the CX, I read about a Lt 15 with a V8 in it again I thnk they went rear wheel drive. Fitting another engine into the CX other than the original power plant may take some work. I also saw a Lt 15 with a renault 2.2 engine fitted it went very well indeed I would have gone for the renault 25 injected engine same engine as the CX 22
And the Chevrons on the trunk are upside down.... always a clue of a spray job done by someone who new nothing about Citroens. Externally striking with no soul.

I have the same thought but I think the choice of the wheels would have been perfect a full disc style as the original rims and to match perfectly with the aerodynamic body. The interior is well shaped but the the seats.
