      that would be fun ,but i´ll not be around anymore to see it, maybe they´ll keep a car to say this was maybe the first electric car that worked ,in a time that people were told that electricity was enviroment friendly wich are not and already creating problems about disposing them ,mainly the badly built batteries and all plastic that they were built from

      @@RUfromthe40s I made a similar comment on another channel here The reality is with all the electronics and batteries, It’ll probably be nearly impossible for it to be running in 50 years unlike a basically mechanical car.

      @@malcolmwhite6588 well, this is sand being thrown to our eyes , the killing of people everyday with bombardments it releases more CO2 than a entire big city in Europe for a month and since early 90´s it didn´t stop ,only changed place and electricity , the most of it consumed in Europe comes from nuclear powerplants ,those other systems are ridiculous unefective ,in my region as seen on discovery channel what once were fields of olive trees and vines as in that region the wine is perfect no quimicals added , it was maybe the smoother wine in all europe now all those panels can´t provide electricity for the nearest village where most are very old people and they go to bed when the sun comes down ,so no electricity but isn´t enough , it as to be taken from the main suply, so to end ,electric cars is like returning to cars moved by beasts ,no one has money to buy a electric car ,diesel mercedes are the more looked after, 70´s, 80´s and early 90´s is the car of the people, my first car was a 280S from 68 in a time where gasoline was terrible expensive but it was economical at low speeds like 100kms/hour and used to carry 7 persons in it, people are being terribly informed from a nightmare that everybody will wake up , and i studied electronics but before i started with high tension electricity ,so i think i know a thing or two about this, today i´m driving a skoda octavia turbo diesel but at weekends i drive a 600SEC from the 90´s ,it as less emitions than a renault clio 1.4 L gasoline ,new .It relates with the technonoly applied.

    normally the ones i knew that had this car ,they never complain about any problem with it ,i at the time had already bought two cars and when this was available for sale i couldn´t aford it but later when looking for one in second hand i couldn´t find one for sale , so the problems with it ,i´m not aware of them , just remenber driving one and feeling it was better than most of the confortable cars at the time that were the DS ,rolls royce or mercedes , cadillac also but doesn´t count due to their gasoline comsumption ,if there were a cadilac turbo-diesel i would have bought one, mercedes didn´t release any form of the C1 (the sportive model ,that in some time they were discussing of releasing it with a turbo diesel engine ,but it never came out none of them just available to be seen in auto-shows as the classic that never was)this still remains as one of the cars that got away, there were other confortable cars but none with the quality of the ones i refer

      Even at 80MPH, the SM is only turning 3K RPMs putting you right in the meat of the power band. But, yes, a 6 speed would make a perfect car even more perfect!

    Citroen should of changed the steering rack gearing to make it less sensitive. I know people say you get used to it. You shouldn't have to. Probably lost alot of sales because of that. Scared alot of people off.

      But then it wouldn't have been half as interesting as it is today.

    • @famousutopias
      @famousutopias หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It didn’t take me any time to get used to it. Rather, it was a revelation and immediately everything else seemed crude in comparison.
      It’s when Citroen dumbed everything down for focus groups that there was no point to them any more.

    • @silkdestroyer
      @silkdestroyer หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@famousutopias I spent 2 days driving mine back to the UK from Sweden. After I got it home it went straight into storage and I got my 2002 Mercedes CLK 320 out.
      Now, I love the Merc, and it's V6 is definitely smoother, but on driving off in the Merc after having spent 2 days in the SM, I thought that there was something wrong with the Merc's steering! It felt 'dead' compared to the SM.
      It may take a little while to get used to the SM, but believe me, it is worth it.

      Citroen went bankrupt because of this car and the upcoming CX. Then it was taken over by Peugeot and went downhill since then. The C6 from 2002 still had an elegant look and kept the hydraulic suspension until 2017. I don't care about other models, including the gimmicky "DS" rebrand.
