A screenshot from a Thief 3: Deadly Shadows FMV cleaned up and used as a displacement bump map on a grid. 3D model file being tweaked for 3D printing or CNC milling.
The flat polygons with the straight edges depict man-made constructs and ideals, and contrast with the smooth curvatures and flowing designs of more natural forms. The human body is somewhere in between, asserting triumph over the tamed, frozen forms of fire. The snowfall indicates the measure of chaos that is innate to nature, still untamed but grudgingly tolerated, with the flaming torch off screen struggling to persist. Arches frame the relief but the snow encases the whole.
