The dragon HAS to come back eventually. It was the highlight of the show (sorry Mickey) and every time the "new" B-Mode ending appears we will all be reminded of how good it USED to be. They don't even need to update the dragon, just replace it as it was. There was nothing fundamentally defective with it as it performed for more than a decade. Looking back on the videos of that fiery night, you can clearly see fluid pouring out of the mouth and side areas prior to the ignition. This was either a maintenance error of a personal sort (not checking everything before giving approval of "show-ready" status) or it was a failure in the hydraulics (again, something that should have been caught if correctly inspected prior to every show). Seeing "Murphy" bleed out seconds before she goes up in flames is tantamount to watching the Hindenburg footage seconds before the explosion. We need the dragon back. This show needs the dragon back (and not just the "head-on-a-stick" version) so that this decades old classic can really soar once again. I will be at the edge of the Rivers of America tomorrow night at 9:00 for the premiere and will thoroughly enjoy every second of it. However, in the backs of everyone's minds will be the question "When's the dragon coming back?". We "get it" for now BUT the current version can only be a temporary fix until Disney gets their act together once again. Getting Maleficent back in her glorious, fire breathing, version has to be fast tracked. Besides, making a clone is never as expensive as the original one. All the R&D has already been expounded on the first one so fix the flaw and get this show back to it's former glory. I don't want to hear complaints aplenty in the future just like I hear for the Disco Yeti. We saw it working and we know how good it was. The same goes for the dragon and we won't shut up until we get her back! We know it can be done. It has been before. No excuses!!!

Hopefully, the new battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent will be temporary. The show won’t be the without the dragon!
That’s the goal more than likely. Just the expense of replacing the dragon isn’t in the books this quarter or maybe even year
