In the book, Thranduil was present in Thorin's funeral and even placed Orcrist in his arms, an act that basically ended the rivalry between elves and dwarves. This works for practically all the deleted scenes over the two trilogies. Most add more to the story, and a lot helps keep them faithful. With all that time in the movies, they could afford an extra 10 minutes per movie.
Many of this scenes where great. i could have done without all of tauriel and Alfrid and almost all of Azog. Also the weird bunny-sled chase and the the ridiculous hunt while they're in the barrels. There's no way a group of mountain orcs could kill even one of the elf guards of thranduil, yet in the movie they're slain as if they were the kids of Rohan defending helms deep against Urukhai.
They should have also kept the scene where Gandalf tells Thranduil how his wife would have wanted him to treasure his son over her jewels. It was a quick, yet perfect explanation of why Thranduil wants the jewels and why he is the way he is.
It was already clear in the extended version. Bilbo says dwarves stole elven treasure and "the store of their good will ran thin" and Thranduil repeatedly says the gems are his heirloom. But yeah, that scene should have been in the extended cuts. Theatrical cuts are complete disaster.
The gems were made for his wife that she never got to wear he covets them because their the last reminder of her this was said in the behind the scenes but is also kinda obvious in the film's

Though it's kind of stupid as it was stated at the very beginning of the first movie, that they need that stone in order to get the dwaves together. They said the dwarves would only follow a king, who has the stone.

Honestly regarding how you see the hobbit. After seeing the last Jedi I’m so happy middle earth still remained middle earth. Star Wars got destroyed by last year. My two favorite franchises of all time. I’m happy no matter even the hobbit films were a bit lackluster, they still fit and were good. I can’t imagine me having a disgusting feeling about middle earth like I now have for Star Wars.
Every single time Martin Freeman appears on screen, he delivers something masterful. You could pick up his depiction of Bilbo and drop him into our world, and nobody would ever think it was an act. I've always thought Smaug was my favourite part of the Hobbit films, but actually with time, it's the small scenes like Gandalf in AUJ speaking about Bilbo to Galadriel, and then pretty much everything that Freeman does as Bilbo. The fourth deleted scene is another fine example.
I enjoyed the movie but excluding the scene with the father in battle left open questions. The movie would have been better if they included the funeral scene too because without it, the ending felt abrupt.
I've seen all but 2 of these scenes in the Extended Edition. I didn't see Bilbo plant the seed he was going to take home and I didn't see the funeral scene. So, thank you for finding these and sharing them!

would have included the deleted scene in which Ian McKellen (gandalf) speaks a prayer for Thorin in the end in a way only he could do it....absolutely astonishing
I don’t know if it was deleted or included in extended, but it isn’t canon, and it isn’t very logical. Galadriel surely is an old and powerful being, even for an elf, and has one of the rings of power, but Gandalf is way over all of them, although he is in human form and his power is restrained by this, he still is a Maiar, which are second in power only to the Valar, the first beings (spirits) created by Eru in his song even before there was any light at all, his age and power is only inferior in middle earth to that of Sauron, and rivals Saruman (which is also a Maia), all of the remaining Istari and the Balrog he killed (another corrupted Maia, but since time immemorial from the rebellion of the Vala Melkor) PS: I’m sorry about the nerding
It's in the extended edition. All of these but number 2 are in the extended editions. I wish people would've gotten the extended editions of all 6 movies by now and stop living under a rock because you're missing several hours of content that fill in a lot of gaps.
@@juandavidrestrepoduran6007 His age is the same for all Ainur. Olórin was surely the wisest there, that's why Círdan gave him the ring, as Círdan was the oldest elf that survived all those ages on Middle-earth, and so he's very wise and can recognize wisdom.
I had never watched DoS extended version until recently, I was so shook when Thorin's father appeared on screen. Also I liked the scene in the extended version, after Dol Guldur, where Radagast gives his staff to Gandalf (because Gandalf's staff is destroyed by the Necromancer on DoS), it's a nice link to Gandalf's staff from LOTR.
6:37 man this is such a strong scene... I'm really disappointed they didn't include something so precious to final version. It could easily be the best moment for me P.S. This scene is an example of what exactly was missing in Hobbit and what I really valued in LotR. This and funeral scene what would make me fall in love in this movie!
Great scene between Gandalf and the Beorn. Really gives you a taste of the back story. The evil power that ruled long ago is a reference to the witch kings rule in north in Angmar before fleeing to Carn Dum.
I thought i had seen every second of deleted scenes, extended editions 3 times already...and now after 10 years Bilbo with acorn as one of the best scenes I get to know it was deleted ??? Thank you for sharing, watching these scenes was like seeing the whole movie for the first time, its like going back in time 10 years and entering cinema with the excitment of seeing in a couple of moments middle earth again after then long 10 years.
Gandalf: Guys, we are being overrun. Send the bowmen! Bard: No can do. Let me talk for a few minutes, while everyone dies. Bilbo: Oh. I have an idea. Lets plant a tree!!!
Without motivation, you will do nothing. Bard was on despair. I know teens won't understand, but there were so many orcs, that fighting seemed useless, that's why motivation _(a motivation that goes beyond the very own defense and survival)_ was important on that moment.
These are such beautiful scenes!! Why the hell did they deleted these parts?! I really like thorin & was wondering what happened to his body. Now,my question is answered. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Only problem I have with the extended Dol Guldur scene is that in the lore, the elven rings only showed themselves to others if their bearers wanted them to. Sauron could've very well speculated that Gandalf had been gifted Narya, but he would've have no way of proving it unless Gandalf willingly allowed the ring to be visible
The scene where the Orc tries to take The Ring of Fire from Gandalf breaks canon. For one thing Sauron never discovered who had the Elven rings AND Gandalf would never openly wear it until Sauron's defeat.
Most of this trilogy breaks canon. Just look at the WK being dead and buried... suddenly the Nazgul are ruined. Stretched by long life - neither living nor dead - just continuing. But nope. Dead and resurrected and a ghost that can interact with the world...
Okay, the last scene with Thorin’s burial should really have been included and the one with the acorn. We get to learn more about the characters’ emotional state and Bilbo’s words we he planted the acorn were powerful as hell
Had they cut the theatrical versions by half each and kept these scenes they would have made much better films than the nonsensical drawn out stuff they inflicted on us
A numerous quantity of crucial scenes like this final scene were left out from both The Hobbit and LOTR. Even scenes that add only minutes to each film’s length. It doesn’t make an ounce of sense to leave these scenes out. ( crucial character development, plot strengthening, history’s and events of middle earth, languages etc..) instead each character’s arc was left choppy and unrefined. The movies in particular (LOTR trilogy) would’ve improved 10 fold if they’d kept the majority of those scenes. It seems even the extended additions don’t portray a number close to the crucial scenes that were cut.. The last clip in this video is a perfect example of a clip that should’ve been left in the film, a scene that strengthens both plot depth, and characterization.
Very good. The bilbo scene and the funeral are not in the extended versions, at least the ones I saw. The scene they put is always a short battle between dwarves and elves, before the orcs appear
Awwww....at the end I felt really sorry for Tauriel cause she loved Kili so much and I always theorized them getting married and having children and living together BUT NOPE! THANKS A LOT BOLG! Thanks Legolas for Killing Bolg😊
Tia Aaron yeah, she’s really only there to empower females. as a female, i’m more offended that they added in such a useless romance plot for the sake of ‘adding girls’
What an amazing list and video! I agree with the order you put the list in. I know that some people consider that The Hobbit trilogy doesn't have the same quality as The LOTR films and I agree that The LOTR trilogy is a masterpiece of cinema history. But, at the same time, I also think that The Hobbit films aren't bad ones and, in my opinion, this list just proved that! From my point of view, these scenes are very well executed and performed. As I see it, these scenes have the same level of emotion and moral values that The LOTR films have. One more time, without the brilliant mind of Tolkien nothing of this would be possible. But that's just my opinion :) Anyways keep doing awesome videos like this one!
You can tell by the piercing blue eyes that the Orcs have that they were once clearly Elves. The torture Morgoth but them through... I shudder to think.
There’s another cut from the extended edition that shows his father, Thrain, engaging in single combat against Azog, only be defeated. Azog then cuts his finger off to take the last Dwarven Ring of Power from him. Afterwards, Thrain is imprisoned in Dol Guldur, where he is tortured for information about the secret entrance of Erebor. He never says a word until Gandalf comes to his rescue. Tragically, however, Sauron intercepts them, killing Thrain, whose last words to Gandalf are: “Tell my son I love him. Can you do that for me?” So if anything, Thrain was the complete opposite of a coward in the films, but rather, a tragic figure. T_T Link to scene: m.th-cam.com/video/kikcSGoimjs/w-d-xo.html
Ppl who complain about the hobbit films need to realize PJ was given ~3-6months top to make the movie where GRT worked on it 1.5yrs before leaving the project. PJ had no choice but to wing it as the executive pushed him to meet deadline and hence why the quality doesn't match it's older sequels
It was sad about Kili & Fili, but I'd NEVER be sad over Thorin. He had no honor and didn't keep his promise to the people that helped him. Too much blood was shed over his greed. There was enough gold there to share with the world. I loved Galadriel's scene, that was my favorite.
No honor? If we judge him in the movies yes, but in the books, no. He got this "Dragon Sickness" thing and it's not something like "dude I have a strong will lmao it wouldn't hurt me" you can't see it's effecting you and BOOM! You become greedy, it's not in your hands to control it.
So he had a funeral after all. The movie made me think they just left him lying somewhere. Well, adding those scenes would have probably made us feel for, or even like the characters. But why bother with that, when there is so much faceless CGI battle to enjoy? >_

Orc: tries to stop her, gets destroyed.
nice to see people who are true to their words ahah
I was already crying and then i saw Bilbo cry and i cried even harder 😭😭
"What do u do when faced with soo much death??? U go on living!!!" Especially during coronavirus, right??? Best advice there!
The witch king tomb scene is lit af
I still almost cry whenever the dwarf goes “Long live the king”
I wish they’d make a scene where we got to see Erebor, dale and lake town restored to its greatness
When bilbo is telling bard to never give up and then the music starts playing. It’s brings a tear to my eyes 🥲
Remind me to never sell my movie rights to Warner Bros.
Ok when you get movie rights in the future don't sell it.
This is future you... You did idiot
Yes. This plus BvS
Just a heads-up in case you're starting to wilt under pressure.
gfgyhgfg
would have included the deleted scene in which Ian McKellen (gandalf) speaks a prayer for Thorin in the end in a way only he could do it....absolutely astonishing
You happen to have a link?
@@SabatSch95 just type that in: "hobbit deleted scenes gandalf speech"
Its the first one ✌
On YT obviously
@@FELSENBUCHT you're right. should've left it in...
A badass Galadriel! Why did they delete it?
No its extended
I don’t know if it was deleted or included in extended, but it isn’t canon, and it isn’t very logical. Galadriel surely is an old and powerful being, even for an elf, and has one of the rings of power, but Gandalf is way over all of them, although he is in human form and his power is restrained by this, he still is a Maiar, which are second in power only to the Valar, the first beings (spirits) created by Eru in his song even before there was any light at all, his age and power is only inferior in middle earth to that of Sauron, and rivals Saruman (which is also a Maia), all of the remaining Istari and the Balrog he killed (another corrupted Maia, but since time immemorial from the rebellion of the Vala Melkor)
PS: I’m sorry about the nerding
It's in the extended edition. All of these but number 2 are in the extended editions. I wish people would've gotten the extended editions of all 6 movies by now and stop living under a rock because you're missing several hours of content that fill in a lot of gaps.
🤷🏼♀️
@@juandavidrestrepoduran6007 His age is the same for all Ainur. Olórin was surely the wisest there, that's why Círdan gave him the ring, as Círdan was the oldest elf that survived all those ages on Middle-earth, and so he's very wise and can recognize wisdom.
“You weren’t at the Battle of Moria. I was.”
Yes Thorin we know you’re old, no need to mention it
Gandalf is much older haha, he just was somewhere else at this time
I love the moment when Bilbo plants the acorn, and I wish they had kept the funeral scene.
I think every scene should be in the Films
I agree
I had never watched DoS extended version until recently, I was so shook when Thorin's father appeared on screen.
Also I liked the scene in the extended version, after Dol Guldur, where Radagast gives his staff to Gandalf (because Gandalf's staff is destroyed by the Necromancer on DoS), it's a nice link to Gandalf's staff from LOTR.
Wait what? When did his father come back? Is that who was crowned king at the end?? Please someone tell me what’s going on!!
I had seen the funeral scene (I cried) but I hadn't seen the one about Thorin and his father on the battlefield...that explained so much!
6:37 man this is such a strong scene... I'm really disappointed they didn't include something so precious to final version. It could easily be the best moment for me
P.S. This scene is an example of what exactly was missing in Hobbit and what I really valued in LotR. This and funeral scene what would make me fall in love in this movie!
Problem is, Bilbo planted the acorn in his home, in bag end, so it's kinda right, but monologue is great though
Fun fact: The orc beating up Gandalf in Dul Gundor was and early design for Bolg.
Gandalf: Guys, we are being overrun. Send the bowmen!
Bard: No can do. Let me talk for a few minutes, while everyone dies.
Bilbo: Oh. I have an idea. Lets plant a tree!!!
Yeah, it was my favorite scene from the book. Oh wait ...
Last scene was so beautiful that must not be deleted 😮😮
Except that continuous line : the king is dead.. [missed something?].. long live the king 🤷
@@basistha when he said "long live the king", I believe it was referring to Thorin's cousin who became the next king.
I like how gandalf is being executed and Lady Galadriel is just casually walking like nothing is happening
Rest in peace Thorin, the brave king of the mountain😢❤😢❤
Thorin, the greedy douche bag and the self-centered dick
@@tiaaaron3278 Jokes have limits, you know.
HOLD ON A SECOND I’VE SEEN THE EXTENDED VERSION AND I’VE NEVER SEEN THE ACORN PART. I FEEL LIED TO.
@Fenuna Granchweed I also don’t have an explanation for that.
If you had read carefully the title it says extended AND deleted scenes which means that some of them are not even in the extended version
Same
it's a deleted scene :)
I am still watching this great film in 2024 and many more years to come ❤
Still grieving the death of the Durins 😢 the actors did an amazing job.
People in Middle Earth : Fights regularily
Galadriel : *I CAST SUDDEN EXPLOSION*
Only problem I have with the extended Dol Guldur scene is that in the lore, the elven rings only showed themselves to others if their bearers wanted them to. Sauron could've very well speculated that Gandalf had been gifted Narya, but he would've have no way of proving it unless Gandalf willingly allowed the ring to be visible
I'm glad...Dain took great care of Thorin's place as King Under the Mountain. 😢
The scene where the Orc tries to take The Ring of Fire from Gandalf breaks canon. For one thing Sauron never discovered who had the Elven rings AND Gandalf would never openly wear it until Sauron's defeat.
Maybe that’s why it was cut, but being quite a cool scene they put it in the extended
Most of this trilogy breaks canon.
Just look at the WK being dead and buried... suddenly the Nazgul are ruined. Stretched by long life - neither living nor dead - just continuing.
But nope. Dead and resurrected and a ghost that can interact with the world...
My favorite deleted scene is the story behind the rams, they pulled the ballista.
Been saying it for years - much like with LOTR, the Extended Editions of the Hobbit Trilogy is where its at.
The scenes about the different rings are awesome, and really open up the more in depth lore to people who only watch the movies. Shame it was cut.
Miss Gadabriel one of the most Powerful character in Lotr 👊
Ezequiel Whitemore Galadriel
And yet through out the entire trilogy she does.... NOTHING. Easily my least favorite character in LotR.
Marty Shaw its obvious you never read the books hmmm?
And the most powerful enemy in thor
She's got the overkill skills honed to perfection.
Dang this is such a emotional 😭 scene sad they cut it such an important part. Thank you so much for uploading it really appreciate it a lot.
The funeral scene gave me so many goosebumps I got cold when its ended.
We get to see Galadriel absolutely obliterate that Orc 😂
Azog predicted the end! First Fili died... Then Kili and Thorin last!
Galadrial's jack slap of that orc not only destroyed him, but sent shock waves for several miles around the keep.
Okay, the last scene with Thorin’s burial should really have been included and the one with the acorn. We get to learn more about the characters’ emotional state and Bilbo’s words we he planted the acorn were powerful as hell
Had they cut the theatrical versions by half each and kept these scenes they would have made much better films than the nonsensical drawn out stuff they inflicted on us
She was not kidding when she said she will destroy you that orc was crumbled to pieces
#1 looked like a lot of work just for them to delete it.
Its extended
Naye gwe Galadriel is very powerful😂. Just one swipe and phew😂😂
Majority of blame is toward Warners Brother for interfering in the production of the Hobbit Trilogy.
Whooooa. That Galadriel scene. I legit had a jaw drop and said "oh sh*t". Never seen it before
I’m crying rn watching when bilbo buried the seed omggg 😭 😭
Edit: and now the funeral scene that I cry at every time I see it omggggggg
Me too. Its the same for me with the Lord of the Rings when Frodo sails away.
The only way to watch these wonderful movies is the extended versions! My goodness! The stories are so much richer with the additional content!
Very good. The bilbo scene and the funeral are not in the extended versions, at least the ones I saw.
The scene they put is always a short battle between dwarves and elves, before the orcs appear
I got goose bumps and almost started to cry a bit at the last one
I'm glad the dwarves honored him
RIP Thorin oakenshield
RIP Kili
RIP Fili
They should of left the funeral scene..
It shows respect for the 3 that passed..
I know it's only a movie but it's cool to let yourself believe.
They should have kept the funeral scene. It was much needed.
Awwww....at the end I felt really sorry for Tauriel cause she loved Kili so much and I always theorized them getting married and having children and living together BUT NOPE! THANKS A LOT BOLG! Thanks Legolas for Killing Bolg😊
I Wonder wat happened to her
Tauriel is a worthless traitor bitch.
Tia Aaron yeah, she’s really only there to empower females. as a female, i’m more offended that they added in such a useless romance plot for the sake of ‘adding girls’
Tauriel = WOKE, and that's the single sole reason that Fran Walsh demanded the character
So these were deleted scenes. I recently watched the Hobbit trilogy online and all of these were included. Glad that I enjoyed them uncut.
They were deleted from the theatrical cut, but were included in the extended version.
But that's just my opinion :)
Anyways keep doing awesome videos like this one!
Tomás Amaral I agree
Steine wie testetdie 25jährige letztlich leer undjhw
Hell yes
You can tell by the piercing blue eyes that the Orcs have that they were once clearly Elves. The torture Morgoth but them through... I shudder to think.
Galadriel is a Bad ass!!!! Damm! That's what Power looks like!
and instead of Dark lord, you would have a Queen...
Lol and all she does in lotr is sit her ass in the woods and hopes for the best and does nothing
@@sirp7394 I believe in the book she fought off the easterlings outside of the Lonely Mountain
That orc that was going to chop of Gandalf’s hand got the literal definition of beamed just absolutely obliterated
Imagine if she had used that power in battle.
"I will not say do not weep, for not all tears are an evil."
They portrayed Thorin's father as a coward in the film. That obviously wasn't true
Not really like a coward, it was said that the gold had woken a paranoid jealousy in him, making him fear everything.
He went mad
@Kaladin The only change I could think of is who stabbed Azog.
He was driven mad in the books, so it makes sense.

Why did they remove such powerful scenes. Why!
I like the idea that Sauron tried to get the other rings back since that was what he wanted to do in the books
So he had a funeral after all. The movie made me think they just left him lying somewhere.
Well, adding those scenes would have probably made us feel for, or even like the characters. But why bother with that, when there is so much faceless CGI battle to enjoy? >_
The book mentions a funeral
Its extended
Fili and killi was buried with Thorn.
7:37 could live in my heart for ever🤍🤍
3:00 - Bruh, did you think she was joking?
I love the CGI graphics of this movie. They made a 6'3" dude play Thorin, and made it look so real. Fantastic job.
I wanna see how Ballin was going to return Moria ( khazad- dum).
#2 is my favourite. Bilbo's words give hope.
Sad that this scene isn't even in the Extended Edition of the Battle of the five Armees.
