Fun fact: they filmed Gil Galad fighting Sauron(a scene from the silmarillion) but cut it at the last minute and didn’t tell the actor, he found out at the premier.
I think they did that with saruman’s death scene as well which caused christopher lee to have a huge fall out with PJ. I personally wish they had the scouring of the shire, even if they had to make an extra 90 minute movie to make it a quadrilogy. The lotr trilogy couldve finished at aragorns coronation and then the next movie could pick up from there including the journey home and then the confrontation and battle with sharkey’s ruffians and ending with the final confrontation with saruman and the very last scene could be where the trilogy ended with frodo leaving for the undying lands
@@GazBeasley Kinda weird how PJ made the death scene on top of Orthanc instead of the whole taking over the Shire thing. But then again, lots of weird sways from the books.

4:50 "But the hearts of men, are easily corrupted" .... Lady Galadriel apparently forgot about the oath of feanor and the 3 kinslayings, when the honour and dignity of elves failed.
Great bit of editing incorporating extended versions of beginning of the fellowship and return of the king and the hobbit all with voice over from beginning of the fellowship well done
6:50 there are a lot of extremely talented actors that make their role indistinguishable from reality but then there are actors that somehow take it a step further
The discipline the elves have here, the craftsmanship of the armor and the flow of martial prowess among the elves is not even remotely replicated in the rings of power. Its just not even close, the elves in that show fight like the men do, but the elves in Peter Jackson's LOTR fight like alien species that mastered all forms of martial combat.
@Elmo914 Yeah the Army of the Last Alliance would have crushed Gothmogs legions that attacked Minas Tirith. The Elves had tens of thousands of men in this battle against Sauron compared to the tiny force that they sent to reinforce Theoden at Helms Deep. And this was basically Gondor in it's *prime* with the majority of it's units made up of elite troops of Numenorian blood. The equivalent of having Aragorns everywhere.

As long as it keeps getting better it's okay
@@Joe-ss9cr aww look a 40 year neck beard weeb crying over a tv show.
@@shippendales8543 That's the thing, it's not getting better at all. It started as Bezo's cash grab and it's continuing like that.
Well made. If the LOTR had been made into a series instead of movies, this could have been the intro
I remember watching this movie as a kid and everyone else passed out and I managed to stay up and watch the whole thing I was so into it, only movie that kept me up when I was just a little guy growing up will never forget it…good ole days
This was my comfort show during the day after college class when I had some Mexican Schwag
Love your avatar bro :)
It's good someone compiled this extended version.. Serves as a good prologue when watching all the six movies starting with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and ending up with The LoTR RoTK..
Imagine creating Rings of Power and claim youre in the same universe.
Yeah, makes you wonder.
Yeah how good the tv series actually is.
@@DP-fr1yw Are you on the clock now? As an Amazon Prime employee?
@@DP-fr1yw rubbish
@@DP-fr1yw People are here due to Nostalgia, when LOTR had good writing. Not the Rubbish that is streaming now.
Oh man. I’m losing yrs off my life binge watching everything Tolkien, now that I’ve found all this stuff on TH-cam. I’m fine with it.
3:19. Notice the elves and men know they're probably gonna die, but they don't run. They face off Sauron and stand their ground.
Genuine courage.
I was expecting a meme. This was excellent, thank you.
You haven't aged a day, old friend.
That’s the first time I remember seeing Isildur putting on the ring and disappearing! Thank you for showing that!
Fun fact: they filmed Gil Galad fighting Sauron(a scene from the silmarillion) but cut it at the last minute and didn’t tell the actor, he found out at the premier.
Yeah...
Never understand why. Or why they have not add it in the extended cut 😢
If it's from the silmarillion, maybe they didn't have the rights?
You see him in the above clip at 3:05. At first I thought it was Elrond, but it's another elf - our friend Gil.
Ben was so ready for us that he uploaded the video 10 years ago. What a legend.
Not even out 5 minutes and the rings got hobbits killing each other
I enjoyed it. Lets see what happens now with the human kings, how the orc grew, the dwarves of moria. Keep going. Whoop.! whoop.! The books are good, the adaptation is amazing and the overall fullfilling of charcter holes is fantastic. Love the focusing more on the story and amazing job to the actors and the whole crew that brought the fantasy to screen. Thank you!!!
Cate blanchette really blows this narration out of the water, remarkable performance all around
This was wonderfully edited. Well done!!! ❤
I never get tired of watching Elrond stone cold having arrows fly by his head and barely flinch XD
Just stood up and applauded this, the dog is also excited by my applause so has given his approval also
Woof! 🐶
4:50 "But the hearts of men, are easily corrupted" .... Lady Galadriel apparently forgot about the oath of feanor and the 3 kinslayings, when the honour and dignity of elves failed.
The fight between Deagol and Smeagol is probably the most brutal in the whole trilogy.
Great bit of editing incorporating extended versions of beginning of the fellowship and return of the king and the hobbit all with voice over from beginning of the fellowship well done
Can’t imagine what it was like going to see this in theaters prob like a whole diff world and experience in movie films
It was glorious. Like nothing I'd seen from a cinematic point of view
It was pure magic.
6:50 there are a lot of extremely talented actors that make their role indistinguishable from reality but then there are actors that somehow take it a step further
It feels like the 1st time everytime I watch it.
IM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS MASTERPIECE
Came for the prologue, left to watch the trilogy.
Binged on Peter Jackson's LOTR and Hobbit series over the weekend and it was a blast!
That's a smooth transition.
I am so looking forward to rewatching these films with my kids, now aged 5 and 8. 🤩
Man the first 10 seconds of this prologue is better than the entire series of Rings of Power.
Nice! Where has this been all my life?
In 10 years time, we forgot the taste of bread, the sound of trees, the softness of the wind... we even forgots our own name... thanks Benkaten for helping us remember.
Acheived more in 10 minutes than Amazons Rings show did with 2 whole seasons 🤣
Seriously
Here, after finishing rings of power season 2, it was so cool to see the lead up to this in episodic format ❤. Nice detail that the elf high king uses the same spear as in the finale of ROP
As a kid, the Deagol vs Smeagol fight scene was pretty traumatic ngl
Straight up disturbing
It's traumatic toe at 43 now lol
the narration still gives me chill.
Best prologue ever.
Mad how this only has 3k views. Great video!
It’s at 76K 13 hours after your comment…that many after 10 years?
@@PaulyinParis619 oops
For some reason the algorithm picked it up

Sets the tone perfectly, for the greatest movie trilogy of all time.
This prologue is much better than the entire rings of power episode
The last line has a way of making me emotional. The LOTR is a true joy.
11:59 minutes is better than two seasons of ROP
@BaldTemplar agreed 🍻
Indeed 😅
Agreed
The Journos now call us Chuds for thinking that. They used to call us Incels and basement dwellers. Lol.
NO. You are a troll.
They certainly did a perfect job of covering the backstory of the ring to those who may not have been fully familiar with Tolkien’s story.
