It’s still a little before my time racing RC but I remember looking at RC magazines and there was a time when people raced stuff like the Tamiya Clodbuster, Blackfoot, Mauri Big Bear etc like this. It all ended with Losi sticking some monster truck tires on a JRX2 and calling it a JRXT and there were conversion kits before that for stuff like the RC10 etc that became stadium truck as we know it now. Actual Monster truck is something that needs to come back
I've been racing savages since 05 and best tires ive ever owned are proline vtr 4.0 zero offset wheel on buckshot s3 tires . Viton orings and fox shock oil in the shocks . I mounted the body the same way. At full droop the sway bar and lower links work best for me when they are level .
Hey man, nice work getting the LMT on the track! You can lower the ride height by raising the shock mounts up a hole, just remember to play with the shock angle to prevent any suspension binding. I'd love to see you try some JConcepts or Proline LMT tires to see what kind of traction you can gain. Great video!
The only thing about this car that made me wince, was shaving those perfectly good truck tires. Then again, no one makes slicks for monster trucks. Looks good, drives really well. Great bit of content.
That was awesome! I love how you challenge yourself racing unusual vehicles. Couple fun thoughts ... 1. How about utilize a Traxxas lipless mounting system. Maybe one from a TRX-4 Ford High Trail? That might be nice ... I'm sure you could adapt it. 2. Your next unusual racer ... get a used Xmaxx and then use a children potty as the body. Oh my god ... seeing a toilet race would be amazing!!
That was really cool. You certainly improved it, but it certainly isn't nimble, and I'm not sure what you could do next to make it so. I'm looking forward to seeing where this one takes us. I know a car that you'll find exceedingly difficult to make handle. The Tamiya Hornet. Much as I love them, and have a couple, they don't handle.
I thought the truck looked good. The servo obviously helped. In the turns I noticed one front wheel wasn't touching the track sometimes. When it rolled in the corners it reminded me pf cars on carpet and they traction roll. I don't know if that's possible on dirt. It will be interesting to see what changes you make.
You only lose about 20% grip from carpet to pepped clay if you have the right shoes. Any vehicle will rotate more on clay... But that inside wheel lifting is a sign that your right on the edge of a great setup. A slightly heavier sway bar in front will lower that inside wheel, but you loose traction on the outside wheel causing push. You can counter that with a stiffer rear sway to neutralize the push, but then your truck now has lower traction overall. Is it faster that way? Lap times will tell you. A stiffer sway bar will reduce traction and body roll at that end of the car. Stiffer sways also make jump launches and landings unpredictable. Then diff oil, springs, shock oil, throttle curve, cg, gearing... This guy breaths how to put it together. This is a top heavy, floppy, straight axle, meat ball of a chassis riding on a 2nd set of rubber springs and is keeping up with a stadium truck... Never mind that truck waving it's tire leaving the corner. It's just saying "I got this" lol. THIS truck is FLYING...
I kinda wish Losi just made an easy to buy body post specific to this, really annoying I have to go to the hardware store a million times because I’m dumb 😅

That look like Tony dropped his pebbles when he saw that truck coming behind them😂😂😂😂
Do a direct steering like on a classic pan car.
Wow man you are hooked up 💯🏍️ fun videos thanks
Watch the slow mo on this. I feel like you should change the shock oil to beer
Also: looks to me like you spin that spring 180 into the channel

Pretty fun drive and battle!😂🛻💨🏁👍

Thank you. I have a 5 gallon bucket of rubber shavings if you want it.
if u get one of those spektrum bullet leads u could probably use a buggy battery
SPMXCA504
the potential in this is substantial!!

Looked great.
Thanks!

Hornet was the first kit I built in 5th grade.

would love to see how you would build a slash 4x4. Love how you did the 2wd!
Stay tuned. (Kinda)
Love this haha
Impressive Doggy, nice work, what's next?
We'll see

Is there a center diff or slipper on it? Good center diff set would roast that ST
Haven’t dug that far into it yet.
I bet it took forever to grind down those tires.. I tried to do that with slash stock tires and gave up after 1 tire 😅.
It was definitely a lot of grinding
