This motorcycle just shook-up the entire Indian motorcycling scene- a true checkmate event for both Royal Enfield and the pseudo-Harley X440. The styling reeks of Triumph ethos from every angle- what a clean and gorgeous design for an entry level motorcycle. No costs and corners were cut in bringing this to motorcycling enthusiasts- and with the pricing when converted to USD from INR keeps it under USD 3500, I guess it will be on the higher side yet terrific value for money.

Just ordered mine. I've been through the "big ones", both British and Japanese. Now, a senior citizen, my only desire is a nice backroad ride on a quiet sunny morning. I don't need a crotch rocket. I don't need to race anybody. I want good lightweight handling, adequate power to keep up with and overtake cars, and a nice looking bike. This one seems to fill the bill at a very decent price. I would have bought a CB300R if it wasn't for the fact that (to me) it's so damn fugly.

Still no official price? If the maintenance intervals are better than Royal Enfield Meteor/Hunter/etc. (and they should be) for a minimal price difference, it will sell a ton. The Rebel is a weird looking and anemic bike. It would seem like the also-new Kawasaki Eliminator and this bike would be among the best options in this size but the Kawa was a bit more expensive than I expected. If you want something more modern in a naked bike, the G310, Z400 and Duke 390 are likely the best bang for the buck still.

Most of the riding public can read a spec sheet from the manufacturer, what's required is real data. How far does it take to stop from 60 mph? What's the 1/4 mile E.T.? Calibrated radar-gun top speed? Dyno chart specs? How does it handle compared to what and where? Don't you understand? THEY'RE NOT EVALUATING THE BIKE IN REAL TERMS-they're just spouting about how wonderful it is of Triumph to allow us to line up and buy it. I've only seen one evaluation where the tester gave some info about the engine performance that wasn''t of the highest praise but even he offered no proof. The whole thing stinks of a publicity blitz to create demand. It looks like they've done everything but offer a free beanie baby or Playstation with each bike.
