Bosky & CK Sir, just rode both the Speed & Scrambler just yesterday & fell in love with this bike. It was funny to see you skeptical of the Scrambler in this video & how you've ended up with one. I did prefer this personally.. but at the cost of sacrificing going off-road, so I get why you picked that. Thanks for the content. Keep 'em coming🙂
I have not tried this bike yet. But it has two very positive features: design and cylinder capacity. If quality and reliability are good, it is a desirable bike.

It was no accident that Bajaj/Triumph released this in India first. Given the extreme riding conditions there, any quality control issues with the new bike/engine would show up right away. So far I have not heard about any. I also think they made a wise decision to make it look more like a Japanese bike than a Triumph, which should broaden its appeal. If they can keep the price below US $4,000 when they release it here next year they won't be able to build enough of them.
The talk was very nice, to give a quick view compare with Xpulse was good. Only one thing is why there is no HD X440 related video in the channel... Like to see that too
Brilliant review boss. Concise and informative. 1. I'm picking it would be a happy tourer at highway speeds? (a windshield is a must probably) 2. How does ride quality change from (80kph->140kph)? Especially engine perf and vibrations 3. Did you notice any speedo error?
Thanks. It can tour on the highway, just that I am not a fan of street motorcycles for touring. Ride quality is good till 120 kmph and beyond I was not so pleased. Ans that's simply due to my preference to adv style motorcycles. Speedo error of about 5% is built-in all brands.
I think they will announce a Tiger 400, around the end of this year. The reasons they have waited are 1) they wanted to sell as many Speed 400 and 400x as possible first 2) They wanted to see the finished 450 Himalayan before they finalise the design, in the same way they wanted to see the Hunter 350 before finalising the speed 400 design and specs

Coz it's the best city ever sold in India under a crore!!.. I'm not exaggerating 🤷♀️.. It's nowhere near to have that tag for highways understandably as 500+cc bikes mostly will be even better..
Agree. This engine is rideable right through the rev range. We've mentioned in the video rhat it can pull from 40 kmph in 6th gear all the way to 140 lmph that we took it to. That's what's is special about it. The torque spread is great.
Great review. Would you recommend speed 400 or a used Duke 390 of 2022 make at similar price for someone upgrading from a 150cc and looking to retain the bike for around 5 6 years? Usage would be 60km daily commutes on mostly country roads and weekend 300-400km rides, with mild offroading towards destinations
@@bigbearbangalore have ridden the Duke extensively and I love it on the highways. Within city confines, the only irritant is the constant need for lower gears. The speed test ride location does not allow for checking high speed ability. Over the short distance, I found the engine tractability as the major highlight over the Duke. How different are the bikes on a highway ride?

Vastly different in several areas. You must ride them to know better. Out on the highway, the Speed is clearly superior. And if budget is no issue, it's the choice.
@@bigbearbangalore thank you for your response. One more question. Does the triumph has that clatter that you talk about in BS6 engine's. Like you mentioned in Suzuki and RE engines under acceleration?
Appreciate the review style and Humor 😁. Very Informative yet fun ! Would the TS400 be suitable and comfortable for once in a month Highway touring of 400- 500 kms ? I find the ride posture to be a concern, it looks more aggressive than upright, since i prefer more upright seating for the long distance. What can be some of the accessories and mods to be fit to make it long ride friendly ? Being a compact machine, would it be comfortable to tour on TS400 for 400 - 500 kms with pillion and luggage ? Once a month touring will be fine. Lean forward posture is useful when riding quick machines likes this to counter wind blast. Don't know about the Scrambler but posture should be more or less same.

I would add nothing for the moment. Wil ride it and understand it better and then depending on what and where I want to do with it, I'll choose the accessories. I think Triumph will launch some accessories soon.
The real reason why they won't make an ADV is because KTM will be pissed and ktm sales of the adventure will dissapear, and rahul Bajaj himself has said the tie up with triumph was to enter the classic space cause they already have ktm for the performance and adv space. Bajaj cannot cannibalise its own other brand ktm. Ktm is a stronger partnership since they own 49% stake in ktm. I knew when the triumphs released that they would do something on the ktm side for it to continue to be a value proposition and they did just that, they updated the 250 and 390s quite significantly without too much of a price bump. Definitely the 390 adv for someone interested in touring is a better proposition than the scrambler so there is that. And for race enthusiasts of course the RCs are the way to go. So overall Bajaj is playing a solid game.
Good summary about the bike. Quick question, how are vibrations on the bike above 100? Can this bike do 120 to 140 comfortably with an after maket windscreen on highways? From everything I've heard ppl are a bit disappointed with how the bike preforms at higher speeds as its not great in the top of the rev band..
It's quite good at 120 kmph. Beyond 120 kmph the wind blast is high, vibes creep iin and the motorcycle is little too small for comfortable consistent riding at those speeds.
"This is the hottest kid on the block today." "And we've ridden it for about an hour each." "Exactly." "I'm sure you've got a lot of points; I've got a lot of points." "Yeah," "It is hot." "Indeed." - Good intro👌Nice review💯
Have a good look at the cylinder configuration, its basically a Stroked Dominar 400 with even the compression ratio remaining the same. Shifting the drive chain to the other side is just a diversion tactic.
@@bigbearbangalore It's natural progression, the Domimar shares the same bore and stroke of the Duke390 which it was based on, the T400 is just a stroked version of that copy. And this is not just my speculation, the proof is in its own data sheet where they're mentioned the cylinder configuration along with its compression ratio.
I have booked the speed 400 on the day of its Indian launch itself and I am one among the first 10000. Currently I am using a Hunter 350. After watching many reviews I was confused whether I switch to triumph or stay with hunter. After watching your review now its clear I will switch to Speed 400. But some people say we must avoid the first batch production units. Please shed some light on it.. do we really need to worry about 1st batch triumphs? Thanks in advance
Well, can't say. The skeptics winter buy the first batch while the trend setters will go ahead and enjoy from the launch. Only time will tell. However, I think Triumph and Bajaj would set things right swiftly even if a thing or two were to go wrong.
Happy to share with you that I have taken delivery of my speed 400 a week back. And thought of writing down my impressions here. Bike's looks, performance and handling are nice. But a few negatives also I want to share. Lost the foot peg grip(that rubber piece) on the way back to home in a 80km ride, noticed only after reaching home. And there is moisture inside the meter console which limits the visibility of the readings. Triumph asked me to bring the bike to the shworoom and fixed a new foot peg grip for free. But they have not done anything regarding the moisture issue. They said it is like that for all vehicles. A little disappointed on that. If somebody else also find this issue with the bike, please share. Thank you
Congrats! I think thst the moisture entry issue should be resolved under warranty. Other brands do this. Not being able to read the instrument cluster due to fogging or moisture constitutes a risk and a danger to the rider and other road users. Take this up with Triumph & Bajaj and demand a replacement. Regards.
@@bigbearbangalore thanks alot. I will take this up with the showroom once again. What happened last time is, the moisture appears only when its sunny otherwise it will not appear. When I visited the showroom it was not visible. I thought it was ok then. The showroom people said the meter console is made like that to prevent cracking of the glass part. So if we pressure wash moisture will get inside, so we need to cover up that area while washing. Unfortunately they only washed the bike before delivery and caused this issue.
users feedbacks are very good on the Triumph speed 400 and cheap service too. Even on the scrambler which is not an adventure bike but a taller machine sufficient enough for dusty village roads, stony mountain roads or veins in the rice fields. in fact who is really going to do REAL off-road? very few people. Not only do you need a well prepared off-road machine but you also need very good physical condition. Or you can be an "adventurer" with the Royal Enfield tours.
Will the bike be okay to ride with semi off road tyres becz im from coorg and 50% of time i will be on off road and i don’t want scrambler. If i change the tyres will it loose its riding dynamics?
I have used one (Seelin was the brand I think) on my ex Classic 500. I had a puncture at the most inopportune time when descending from Saach Pass. It was multiple holes caused by the same nail. The sealant sort of held it together till I reached a puncture shop and replaced my tube. I had to ride the bike with pressure around 10-15 psi. Haven't faced any wobbling issues personally and it sort of helped me that day. So try it out. Worst case you feel wobbling or uncomfortable, just change the tubes and you'll be back to stock. No harm in trying and not a very expensive experiment.
Hey, I've booked this bike and the only problem I have is with the After Sales Services, service cost and service quality isn't what Triumph is known for. Do you have an idea of whether spares will be available to buy and how the services cost would compare to otger brands like RE and KTM?
Yes and am sure this concern is a top priority item at Triumph & Bajaj. And there already set affordable rates and prices which will become evident as the deliveries happen and services commence. Let's wait and watch.
As you guys said it is very small, i had booked it under firs 10k but now i am tottaly confused as I am 5'11" and 86kgs. What is your suggestion. I am open to other bikes as well.
Ride it. That's the best way to know more. And who knows, it might suit you well and you may actually enjoy it. Take at least a couple of test rides and decide. Best wishes.

Interesting and we'll never know probably.
I am thoroughly enjoying your discussions, laughing too😅
Glad you enjoy it!
Wow amazing message s u spoke with this speed 400 😍 thank u sirs,🎉 superly explained,
🙏
Any opinion on the headlights? Is it bright enough for Highway night rides ?
Yes it seems ok.
Good summary about the bike. Quick question, how are vibrations on the bike above 100? Can this bike do 120 to 140 comfortably with an after maket windscreen on highways? From everything I've heard ppl are a bit disappointed with how the bike preforms at higher speeds as its not great in the top of the rev band..
from what I've read&heard so far, this is a good "city bike" with decent highway capabilities
I dont think S400 will be relaxed at 120-140kmph
The bike is good for a max of 130kmph cruise on the meter on highway.. If 140 is what you seek then KTM 390s are better..
It's quite good at 120 kmph. Beyond 120 kmph the wind blast is high, vibes creep iin and the motorcycle is little too small for comfortable consistent riding at those speeds.
"This is the hottest kid on the block today."
"And we've ridden it for about an hour each."
"Exactly."
"I'm sure you've got a lot of points; I've got a lot of points."
"Yeah,"
"It is hot."
"Indeed."
- Good intro👌Nice review💯
🤣🤣🤣
Happy to hear that you enjoyed the light hearted humour and banter. Thanks.
Awesome review! Please compare it with BMW g310r. 🙂🙂
As soon as possible when we get hold of one.
Thanks for a great review sirs.
Thanks for watching. Regards.
Getting delivery of this baby triumph next week
Congrats.
What do you think the price increase for Scram 400X over this? And, According to you, The scram will be worth the premium over speed ?
I have no idea of the likely pricing. And yes I would prefer the Scrambler over the Speed. Although i prefer Adventure styling over both.
Sir, good review. Is it good for long tours n whats the mileage.
If this is the motorcycle you have in your garage then yes you can do long tours. Mileage we got around 24 kmpl.
Thanks for the reply Sir.
Have a good look at the cylinder configuration, its basically a Stroked Dominar 400 with even the compression ratio remaining the same. Shifting the drive chain to the other side is just a diversion tactic.
OK and if Bajaj has access to tech to make an engine so so good then why stick in such an insipid engine on the Dominar I wonder.
Fantastic this review is the best available on all channels
Glad you think so! Thanks.
Great video!
Thanks!
Thank you very much
Happy to share with you that I have taken delivery of my speed 400 a week back.
👍
Ok All clear now iam waiting for Himalayan 450😄👍
Good choice
Will the bike be okay to ride with semi off road tyres becz im from coorg and 50% of time i will be on off road and i don’t want scrambler. If i change the tyres will it loose its riding dynamics?
It should be OK as long as the sizes and profile remain same.
Cheers to BBB ❤🫡
Cheers!
Boss whats your take on tyre puncture prevention sealant liquids for tube tyres. Do they really work? Any negatives in using them.
Am not a fan of sealant liquids. They can cause imbalance and wobble at higher speeds on lighter and fast motorcycles.
Honda 350 or Triumph 400?
I test driven both, after sales services concerning me more for Triumph as nearest showroom is far away for me.
The Triumph network is fast expanding and things will be better in about 6 to 8 months. Tough choice and I'll go with the Speed 400.
Sir I am thinking to book the scrambler as I have ridden the speed 400
Is it a good decision to buy scrambler
Ride it when it's available and know for sure. We are awaiting the test tide too.
Which is better CB350RS or Speed 400? I'm very confused 😕
Test ride and choose. They are quite different.
Should i get one or should i go for meteor 350?
Quite different they are. Very different.
First to comment 😊was waiting eagerly for the review, Great review 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
What's the on road price of triumph speed 400. How and where to service later on
Please check with your nearest showroom.
Versys X 300 would be a game changer in Adv Market.
It can.
Does it excel in terms of efficiency?
Can a middle class boy afford it?
Does it drink more as compared to other bikes in this price segment?
It can give a mileage of about 25 kmpl. So it's your call. Best wishes.
I have an doubt of buying the speed 400 or continental gt 650 which one should I buy 😅❤
Quite different they are. The GT is a bigger, heavier and faster machine obviously. More suited to younger riders.
Should I wait for roadster 450 aka hunter 450? Probably only it can defeat this 400.
Better motorcycles are always on the horizon. It's a continuous process. All we can do is take a call with what's available right now.
How different are the speed 400 vs 400x …trying to choose or maybe both ha
Ride it to know. The difference will be clear.
How's the maintenance in regards to liquid coolant for this bike
Nothing unusual I think. Normal replacement once every 2 years perhaps. Need to check the owners manual.
@@bigbearbangalore nice informative and jovial video...all the best for such videos😊
@Jexin thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
