This one hits different. I've been watching your channel for a while and watching this movie was one of the last things I did with my older brother before he passed, I was 17 and he was 23. This was his favorite movie at the time.
OMG, this movie came out of left field and I can't even remember why me and my wife went to see it. It's was probably date night, and options were limited, so why not? This movie was great, and being a kid of the 80's, it felt like it was made just for me, a true comedy classic.
One thing I noticed is a passerby on skis says "you owe me two dollars", I took it as another 80s reference quote from Better Off Dead. Great John Cusack movie.
John Cusack did this movie based solely on the title. Also there is a phrase from one of this older classic movies "Better Off Dead," also worth checking out, I am sure many people can attest to.
"Great white Buffalo" always gets me🤣🤣 when I drive to eastern Oregon to visit family, we pass by a dispensary that has a white Buffalo statue and EVERY time we drive past it we always do that scene!
John's line "I hate this decade" is great because some of his best movies were in the 80s. The Sure Thing (1985) which is a CLASSIC, small parts in Stand By Me and Sixteen Candles.
"In Better Off Dead" there is a newspaper boy who chases John through the movie looking for his two dollars "I want my two dollars." On the slopes when they first arrive at the bottom of their ski run, the guy on the phone made a bet with someone on the other end of the phone and says "I want my two dollars" I wonder if they are the same person, or its just a homage to that movie.
When Lou drunkenly shouts down to the passersby about John Lennon - the joke's on Lou because John Lennon's death occurred in 1980 (the movie is set in 1986.) 🤣 Plus an amazing soundtrack.
This was my shit growing up. Every weekend when the neighborhood boys would spend the night wed stay up late watching this, Tenacious D, Super Troopers, and more. Legendary film.
Ok I stopped watching you guys 6 month back cause I hate the shouting but I'm watching this as no body else has reacted on yt. Will leave like as respect
I remember me & my friend watching this in theaters cracking up Craig Robinson & Rob Corddry was great + it was cool they got actors that were in movies from the 80s in this too great reaction.
I never realized until now that not only Johnny from Cobra Kai in this but the chick playing his wife is the same chick that plays his ex-wife in Cobra Kai.
2000-2010 was the golden era for comedies. It progressively got better throughout the 90's, picked up steam in the 2000's and then started to peak. PC culture really robbed us
By far one of my favorite movies. This is an amazing reaction to an amazing movie. A WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I hope the sequel is coming. I was a little disappointed when I heard one of the cast members wouldn't be coming back, so I didn't want to see it at first but it's a really well made sequel and very much on par with this one
The funniest part about Sebastian Stan's role is that Sebastian was actually born in the Eastern Bloc and then moved to America after the fall of communism.
You mentioned South Park-they did a SPECIFIC episode VERY VERY similar to this BEFORE this film existed...!! The episode is called "Asspen" and satirizes 80's cliched films, like this one does so well.
I’ve probably see this movie like a dozen times, I never noticed that was Johnny Lawrence (with a mustache) till you guys pointed it out, learned something new! Motley Lou forever!
Trapped in the 80s, that’s why this movie is better than the sequel, going to the future isn’t as easy to be comedic compared to middle aged men going back to the 80s
Ohhhhh shit I was watching reactions to this two days ago and looked for it on your channel to no avail, and now it shows up in my recommendations. Yayyyyyy!! Might have to join your Patreon to watch the whole reaction. You two have been KILLING IT with the choices!!
craig robinson rules. he's in 3 of my 4 top comedies. This is the End 2013, Miss March 2008, and Hot Tub Time Machine. love this black eyed peas cover, been on my playlist since his phonecall to his future wife, "hang up the phone jerry", incredible
Guys !, next time you must react , to these super funny movies : "Animal house" , "Bachelor's party" , "Up the creek" , & the trilogy of the movie "Porky's" , trust me you're gonna laugh alot and never stop.
I'll always brag I met and got a picture with Craig Robinson in Atlantis in the Bahamas, I dont get out much it was actually the 1st time I left the country and he was there too, it was fate
Hot Tub Time Machine was the film that kind of inspired "Hangover" there are a lot of parrallels; four guys, one behaves like a child (or is a child XD), the time trip is a lot like being hungover, the drink caused the problem in both films (technically)....and the sexual jokes and wacky comedy is weirdly similar...the only difference is Hangover perfected the formula a bit better. Hot Tub Time Machine felt like a trial run that wasn't quite there...Hangover was the perfect recipe.
I might be in the minority here but I actually liked Hot Tub Time Machine 2 It was not what you would call a great sequel but it really made me laugh like this one did. You should check it out.
@@YourMothersMan I agree completely. If someone was to watch Hot Tub Time Machine 2 without watching the first one, I could see being lost. Once invested in these characters, the second movie is just as good as the first. Some might say it is better in many respects.
I remember the movie theatre across from campus had a big poster for this movie, and I thought it was the dumbest thing I’d ever heard of…and maybe it is but it’s also freakin hilarious
That was Marty McFly's dad as the one-armed bellhop.
Good ol’ Crispin Glover.
Already knew, BTTF was my background sound always plays and loops.
I was in Iraq when this came to the base theater. The whole audience was laughing their asses off.
How many Iraqi kids did you murder
@@ffa4181 dude that was back in 2009
That’s racist man
Same, but bought the pirated DVD from one of those guys at the gate. Watching it in the CHU with the boys was awesome.
Thank you for your service ❤
Rob Cordry is absolutely hilarious in this film. An absolute classic.
Most underrated comedy movie tbh. Idk how this didn't get as much visibility as hangover did or more.
This one hits different. I've been watching your channel for a while and watching this movie was one of the last things I did with my older brother before he passed, I was 17 and he was 23. This was his favorite movie at the time.
So sorry for your loss. Awful. Believe me I know the heartbreak. Good to have a good life and great memories.
This is one of the greatest time travel movies ever! Aside from Back to the Future, of course.
Timecop
I think Looper is pretty good too, BTTF is the GOAT though
It’s funny that Crispin Glover is in both.
what´s with Bill &Ted ?
OMG, this movie came out of left field and I can't even remember why me and my wife went to see it. It's was probably date night, and options were limited, so why not? This movie was great, and being a kid of the 80's, it felt like it was made just for me, a true comedy classic.
One thing I noticed is a passerby on skis says "you owe me two dollars", I took it as another 80s reference quote from Better Off Dead. Great John Cusack movie.
You have had lots of boyfriends, GAY ONES 😂😂😂😅😅😅 this is one of the funniest movies ever and still one of my favorite comedies.
One of the most underrated comedies ever. Lou kills me every time!
"Maybe the universe will bring us together again someday" Absolutely loved that line, and how it came true.
Lou being pissed every time the bell hop DIDN’T lose his arm 🤣
John Cusack did this movie based solely on the title. Also there is a phrase from one of this older classic movies "Better Off Dead," also worth checking out, I am sure many people can attest to.
"I want my two dollars."
He is brilliant in Identity and Con Air.
"Great white Buffalo" always gets me🤣🤣 when I drive to eastern Oregon to visit family, we pass by a dispensary that has a white Buffalo statue and EVERY time we drive past it we always do that scene!
I have watched this movie sooo many times, easily as much as The Big Lebowski.... These are what we call Classics💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
In case no one else said so, yes, that was Crispin Glover, who plays George McFly in Back to the Future.
Sebastian Stan in this movie is so goofy I cant😂
that's why he looked familiar! thanks for that 👍
You can't what?
John lennon gets shot line is even funnier when you know he died 6 years before 1986 😂
"Great White Buffalo..." Is still in my vocab 😅
Great White Buffalo...
Great white Buffalo
Great white buffalo
Great white buffalo
Great white buffalo
I like the line “hey it’s the douchebag from karate kid 3” and then Billy Zabka shows up later
John's line "I hate this decade" is great because some of his best movies were in the 80s. The Sure Thing (1985) which is a CLASSIC, small parts in Stand By Me and Sixteen Candles.
Don't forget better off dead!
"In Better Off Dead" there is a newspaper boy who chases John through the movie looking for his two dollars "I want my two dollars."
On the slopes when they first arrive at the bottom of their ski run, the guy on the phone made a bet with someone on the other end of the phone and says "I want my two dollars"
I wonder if they are the same person, or its just a homage to that movie.
@@Aryaba why not both?
Also did my comment mentioning better off dead disappear? cause it's not showing for me.
"They live" "Beetlejuice" "Poltergeist" 👌🏻
@@jamesmorrison4581 He was not in any of those movies...
One of the best comedies of the 21st century, imo.
When Lou drunkenly shouts down to the passersby about John Lennon - the joke's on Lou because John Lennon's death occurred in 1980 (the movie is set in 1986.) 🤣 Plus an amazing soundtrack.
In the movie he even second guesses himself "wait did that already happen...?" 😂
I was wondering the same thing!
He literally said out loud “wait did that already happen?”
My first experience with Sebastian Stan so when I saw Captain America the next year I had a good chuckle
This is the funniest credits scene in history. Motley Lou 🤘😂
This was my shit growing up. Every weekend when the neighborhood boys would spend the night wed stay up late watching this, Tenacious D, Super Troopers, and more. Legendary film.
OMG I totally forgot how funny this movie is 😂😂😂
Always loved the running gag of lou hoping the bellhop loses his arm lol
Y’all didn’t notice the bully with the Jordans that punched dude is the actor that plays Bucky (Winter Soldier) in Marvel.
Despite what this movie tries to claim... The 80's were AWESOME!! Yes. Pun intended! lol
Hey! I was just searching for something awesome and hilarious to watch! Perfect timing :) You guys are GREAT, love the energy every time!
I think 20 years from now this movie will still be considered legendary
Funny movie Chevvy Chase love him, wish there was a hot tub time machine would be great to go back to 86 good reaction guys.
Ok I stopped watching you guys 6 month back cause I hate the shouting but I'm watching this as no body else has reacted on yt. Will leave like as respect

I never realized until now that not only Johnny from Cobra Kai in this but the chick playing his wife is the same chick that plays his ex-wife in Cobra Kai.
Love that u guys watched this, one of my favorites. Lougle alone is classic 😂. Also, that is absolutely Marty Mcfly's dad

The way you said sorry if we don't like Motley Crue and boobs made you look like the Canadian News group in Anchorman 2
The bully in the 80s is Bucky from the captain america movies.
Truly one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen besides stripes, wedding crashers, and maybe like 10 other movies
The funniest part about Sebastian Stan's role is that Sebastian was actually born in the Eastern Bloc and then moved to America after the fall of communism.
Nice. There aren’t enough reactions to this movie so hopefully you’ll kick off a trend. Hot Rod is another one I’d like to see more of.
You mentioned South Park-they did a SPECIFIC episode VERY VERY similar to this BEFORE this film existed...!! The episode is called "Asspen" and satirizes 80's cliched films, like this one does so well.
It's funny and ironic that John Cusack's character says he hates the 80s because several of his movies are 80s icons.
The beautiful comedy masterpiece that is HOT TUB TIME MACHINE!!!!😊😇😉😋🤪😝😘🤩😍🥰❤😅🤣😂😎👉👌👏🙌🙏👍🎉
I’ve probably see this movie like a dozen times, I never noticed that was Johnny Lawrence (with a mustache) till you guys pointed it out, learned something new! Motley Lou forever!

"his friends come first, he made sure of that" - he was going to make sure of that, with his mouth.
Rewatched this movie about 2 weeks ago still fucking funny asf😂😂
If Stifler was your dad.
I’d redo ‘86. Might kill me, but it’d be a helluva good time.

Okay you guys won't regret it, but "Meet Dave" (2008)
John Cusack is a Legend. You guys should check out more of his work.

When Lou shouts that John Lennon gets shot, it is funny because he is in 1986. Lennon was shot in December 1980.

Rob Cordy’s finest hour.
John Lennon had been shot already when he said that, he realized it had already happened after he said it, but you guys were laughing.
