- Finally checked out the classic ALIEN! REALLY enjoyed it! Very suspenseful! Looking forward to watching the new alien film when it is released!

When the alien comes out of the egg and attaches itself to the face, they are known as 'facehuggers'.
Very good reaction, please watch the movie john carpenter's THE THING!!!I think you will like it
I've only seen two reactions from this channel, but they were both bangers so my hopes are high that this be as good as the previous. I like this couple. You're able to suspend your disbelief for the length of these classics and I like it.
The originals are far better than the new ones (the "new ones" being Alien 4 to Romulus). Alien 1, 2 and 3 are the only ones worth counting, in my view. Alien/Aliens are tied for me, as I love them both just as much, but for different reasons. Alien 3 has its flaws, but is still a good movie, with a great setting and director (David Fincher of Se7en and Fight Club fame).
There are far too many call-backs and member berries ("Remember this? Remember that?") and rehashing of similar plots, instead of adding to the lore in the newer ones. Unoriginal and frankly inferior films in every respect, basically, and to varying degrees. Whereas Alien/Aliens are just great, original films. Most of the folks who have seen Alien/Aliens first will agree with this take. Though, I personally don't think it matters what order you see them in, if you're making an objective comparison. Even Ridley Scott's own Prometheus and Alien: Covenant don't come close, in my opinion, though are just fine as standalone movies.
I would just curb your expectations a tad for the other films so you're not potentially disappointed. It will only make it better anyway if you do end up enjoying them. At least, don't expect them to increase in quality as you go. lol
Edit: 18:47 That was literally everybody who didn't see that coming who saw it for the first time. lol! Such a classic scene.
you guys should play "Alien : ISOLATION" after watching this, great game - when its 15 years after the event of this Alien film, Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, learns that the flight recorder of her mother's ship, the Nostromo, has been located.. Then "Aliens" film comes next.. super fun game for October
Well now, if you really want to experience terror in a computer game, "Ryley Robinson," sign on to the Alterra capital ship, "Aurora" for a voyage to the edge of explored space. As the Non-Essential Systems Maintenance Chief, you may get shore leave to observe the alien flora and fauna from a safe distance on the unexplored ocean Planet 4546B. What could go wrong in "Subnautica"?;)
"I admire its purity. A survivor, unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality."
Best line of the film!
You two are great. You REALLY watch and take it all in, instead of talking over the top of everything. Great editing job too. You make a great couple. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your reaction to the sequel. Aliens has a different vibe, but still great. Subscribed.
This is the most real reaction of Alien that I have seen. Brilliant. :)
Stick with the 70's -80's movies guys...as a Gen-X I can tell you they will permanently mess your brain up 😅we saw these at 14-16-12! yrs of age and are PERFECTLY fine😂😂 great reaction to a classic... NYC sends respect 😅👍
As a Brit, nice to see some Brits reacting to films of my youth. Aliens next chaps.
Absolutely! We are really looking forward to the second one! ☺️
Great movie! When there isn't any dialog, I think, is more scary than seeing the alien! Aliens is the next in the series, excellent as well!
We will be watching that soon! Can’t wait!
Also, the man, the actor Bernard Hill, who plays King Theoden in Lord Of The Rings also plays the captain in The Titanic movie.
Monsters from the ID
great reaction! please react to the rest of the franchise.
And to think that this film was made for $21.5M in today's money.
I mean, Spider-Man, X-Men, James Bond, Indiana Jones etc. today, all cost $200M today. Madness.
Less is more.
Less is more.
I love how in older movies there were less special effects and cgi. I know the Alien director fought for the insane amount of practical effects they did. But for me it's knowing the actors had an actual set and Alien to interact with. Same with the Princess Bride and such.
There was no CGI in older movies. Be cool if there was in things like Rear Window.
Y’all done opened up a whole can of worms!! You guys are about to be busyyyyy!!🎉🎉

I saw this when I was five, ON A GIANT CURVED SCREEN! The sets and cinematography, unlike anything I'd ever seen, blew away my little mind...
excellent reaction! 👍☺
I first saw this movie in the theater when it was released, and I saw it on the Big Screen. We had not seen anything like it before, and it had us on the edge of our seats for the whole movie. Plus, there was NO CGI. Ridley Scott did it all in camera. Now, in the modern movies, aliens are all CGI, not scary, and there are no new scary aliens. This movie, ALIEN, set the bar for all space alien movie. Stars Wars had already been released, and that was a space action movie. ALIEN was the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACER IN SPACE Horror Movie, with the crew being taken out one by one, and no place to hide. Even today, it's a thriller to watch.
Not bad, for a movie that had only an $8 Million dollar budget movie.
Great reaction. Definitely watch Aliens before the new one, but I would suggest Alien 3 also - not as good, but worth a watch and kind of completes the story arc. I haven't seen the new one yet, but I know where in the timeline it sits. However I wouldn't want to tell you as it will be a bit of a spoiler
Cats are often kept on ships as mouse/rat catchers, which is why Jones is onboard despite not apparently being the pet of any lone member of the crew.
Please watch the sequel aliens by james Cameron with Sigourney weaver it picks up where the first one leaves off
We will 💯 be watching it! ☺️
@Reactsandgames awesome the order it goes in alien aliens alien 3 alien resurrection promethius is a prequel to alien alien convert is 10 years after promethius and alien romulus goes after alien and before aliens
You have to watch the special edition directors cut of Aliens next. The added scenes are ace
@@pandapropsncostumes AGREED! I hate when reactors don't watch the Special Edition.
@@pandapropsncostumes NO. THE ADDED SCENES DESTROY THE MOVIE FOR A FIRST TIME VIEWER.
Alien (1986) Special Edition
22:30 they saw it. There's a scene that was cut that shows them entering the room.
21:16 - Landing Gear bay. The moisture comes from the whole massive section being exposed to the atmosphere.
25:06 - The Alien captures crewmembers, immobilizes them and encloses their bodies into the secretions that comes out of it's mouth. This will slowly turn them into new eggs. This is discovered in a deleted scene at the end when Ripley is trying to evacuate and finds Dallas and Brett - a scene later restored in the Director's Cut.
27:19 - Also note Ripley's nosebleed. This was from a scene they didn't have the time or budget to shoot. Ripley manages to lure the Alien into an airlock and orders Parker to vent it with her in it. Just when the outer door is opening, the Alien escapes the vacuum into an airshaft, leaving Ripley to suffocate. Parker quickly closes the door and re-pressurizes the airlock and Ripley recovers. This would've also been the first scene where we get a good look of the Alien but they couldn't make it work and Scott opted to using strobe lighting in the subsequent scenes to hide the suit malfunctions and makeup problems.
Wonderful reaction guys, and yes, please watch Aliens (1986) as well! \o/
@19:03ish.... Now, that's a reaction! =X-D
Lambert was in The Birds
And in the 70s version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Ah yes, my second favorite film.
If you want to watch the sequel Aliens and experience tension and suspense, watch the theatrical cut. I know a lot of fanboys will urge you to watch the Director’s Cut but there is a reason why those scenes were cut. They committed the sin of showing too much too soon. The first hour of the sequel’s theatrical version was suspenseful build up and anticipation reminiscent of Alien.
Yes. It is sad that idiots want to take away a possibility of watching the real film Aliens from people.
i think the alien should eat you BOTH, first steff cause shes cute and then Liam for good measure ^^
Im loving the alien reaction trend.
I hope you guys check out Aliens as well if you want.
We will absolutely be watching Aliens! Can’t wait! ☺️
Look on here for the "H R Giger documentary called Dark Star" he's the artist who created the alien.
Thank you! ☺️
@@Reactsandgames It's got subtitles in English that you'll need to turn on.
Fun fact... Sigourny was soooo hairy for the last scenes in her underwear they DEMANDED she shave and she flat out refused (it was the 70's man✊😅)..it took them weeks to edit out in post production and cost tens of thousands of dollars...they were pissed 😂...swear to God 😅🖐️ Ripley is the original female badass 💪
😂
😂
Welcome to the alien era!
Thank you! We loved this one! Looking forward to the second one! 😊
@@Reactsandgames
Absolutely! Can’t wait for you guys to see the next one! 😉👌🏽
@@ReactsandgamesMake sure when you watch Aliens, watch the special edition! It’s a longer and superior cut of the film!
remember this was 1979 way way before CGI and it still looks amazing even now after allmost half a century the use of sets models and practical effects are just amazing. this move started a ,whole new genre of films the Scify/horror genre.
"Alien" is my favorite. Most people prefer "Aliens". Not much else is worth watching.
Glad you are doing more regular films.
Aliens gets all its charge from Alien but it does discharge it well.
See Aliens !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will! ☺️
Waiting for your reaction to aliens 1986
So excited to watch this with you guys, great choice!! Alien and ALIENS (2) are the only 2 “must-watches”, the other sequels and the prequels all have varying mixed reviews. I haven’t seen the latest prequel ROMULUS which is the one in theaters now.
This original is amazing at setting atmosphere and mood 👌🏾
I used to agree, but alien3 has grown on me the last few years ngl I love how unrelentingly bleak it is.
Saw it on opening night with a packed audience and everybody did what you did.
Excellent 'face' reactions! You would like "Jacob's Ladder" 1990
Some of these "classic" movies (Feels wrong too call them that though, they are just movies from my childhood) are really amazing. Some of my favourates are "The Thing", "The Shining", "Bladerunner", "The Secret of NIMH", "They Live"... and of course "Aliens".
Don't know if you heard...but....Alien is a classic....🤣.....I saw this in the theater as a kid ...so....I'm old........Peace!
🍿🔥🍿🔥🍿🔥
This is movies is a classic for it's age and the cast is so old compared to the latest Alien movie young cast. I believe that the Alien was only shown for around 4 minutes during the whole movie.
The Alien blue mist was achieved by borrowing a laser from Deep Purple? who were shooting a rock video in the stage next door.😊
On the subject of the Aliens sequel: I am wasting my breath I'm sure, because there will be a hundred comments saying the opposite, but it is important that you do NOT watch the special/directors/extended cuts of the movies of this era, and I'll explain why. Those re-cuts are beloved of long time fans of the movies because they have extra stuff - hence hundreds of upvotes from guys telling you to watch them - but they have forgotten that the pacing and careful disclosure of information is vital for FIRST TIME VIEWERS. And the special cuts always destroy that.
Alien didn't eat the cat because fur-balls.😅.
Great reaction to a great movie! Would really love to see your 1st time reactions to the next one, Aliens (1986).
Alien: Romulus (the new one out in theaters) actually falls in between this original Alien and its direct sequel, Aliens.
You need to watch John Carpenters The Thing from 1982! It’s a horror masterpiece! But don’t confuse it with the thing from 2011! Watch the 2011 one after!
@19:48ish.... Seen this a million times and every time.... Parker's look. I image him thinking, "Ain't this a bitch!" =X-D
A young couple who know little about "Alien" are boarding the "Nostromo." What will these youngsters make of this "old. long, slow-moving, character-centered, no-DFX" movie? 3:39 The Company is sending the equivalent of a freighter crew to "do science" on an unexplored planet! 7:34 The Space Jockey, a mystery for decades. 9:30 Second Officer Kane = Zapp Brannigan. 10:14 The first jump scare. 10:42 This conversation has become iconic due to recent events. 11:33 The Face Hugger, grossing out audiences for years. 12:45 Acid Blood! 16:08 A Props dept. work of ART, made of sea animals. 18:04 Kane's last meal. 18:50 The Xenomorph, scaring audiences for over 40 years. 20:17 Along came Jones. 21:57 Say hello to Bolaji Badejo. 24:48 You're in command, Ripley. 26:49 In 1979, this was my "WTF? Ash ISN'T Human!?" moment. 28:00 Most didn't see this coming. 31:00 I've read that Lambert is standing in for us, the audience. 31:52 That's a Stinger. 33:12 Escape route cut off, stop Destruct to gain time for Plan B. 37:55 Tonight's entree on the shuttle "Narcissus" is Steamed Xenomorph in Shell. 38:54 Correction, Char-Broiled Xenomorph. This and the next movie made newcomer Sigourney Weaver into a major movie star. Along with Linda Hamilton of "The Terminator," they became Action movie Badasses. "Jennifer Lawrence?" Who is that?
React to the exorcist the scariest movie of all time anything else you waste your time watching? It’s just below this movie exorcist is the best scariest movie ever made. I double made I double dog dare you
You get it - as you mentioned one of the standouts of the movie were the characters, so important. Saw Romulus it's got mixed reviews, i for one was disappointed, nothing new, less effective horror & suspense and the less said about most of the characters the better. You'll love Aliens.
there is a really good doc on the making/philosophy of the film: Memory: The Origins of Alien. On Channel 4 and amazon Prime.
What is terrifying, for me, is Lambert hanging with no pants or shoes.
The Alien was sleeping. When it showed its little mouth thing it was actually yawning.
Love this movie! The second one is action packed
It’s next on the list! ☺️
@@Reactsandgames PLEASE watch the Special Edition! It features a subplot that is basically the emotional spine of the entire movie.
That "special edition" is ment for people who has already seen the movie, not for the people who want to watch the real movie Aliens.
Hello, new follower here 👋🏻. This is the start of a great franchise, only if you guys are into gore and bloody scenes. This organism is one nasty creature, the life cycle goes like this: the egg, the facehugger, the chestburster and last but not least the Alien; this creature has a name but you guys need to watch it’s sequel Aliens. The movie Romulus is between Alien & Aliens. The Special Edition Aliens please watch that one.
You can see in the deleted scenes what happened to the kidnapped Dallas and Brett. You can find these scenes easily on YT. Regarding the end, the reason the Alien is not attacking, getting darker and his producing a lot of slimes is being he is supposed to be turning back into an egg. This concept was abandoned for the next movie where a different life cycle is introduced!
In the book- which is written from the original shooting script- the alien _does_ eat. Quite a bit. You also find out what it did with Dallas and Brett.
The acting by everyone is top notch. You can't find better in a horror/sci fi film.
In 1974 the creator of Alien, Dan O'Bannon, performed in John Carpenter's debut film, a cult comedy called Dark Star which he co-wrote with Carpenter. It has an extensive sequence involving O'Bannon's character trying to catch his escaped pet alien and ends up chasing it around the spaceship; which became the inspiration for Alien.
“I wonder what some of these rooms are for?”
The entire vessel is a refinery. Very industrial.
This how you write an action star without any agenda. Have never heard anyone say they didn't like Ripley.
Hello my baby
Hello my honey
Hello my ragtime girl..
After seeing that..😊😊
Jonsey the cat gets an honorable mention for his great acting. He just sits there and his eyes follow Brett as he gets taken up.
8:20 "Just seeing an alien. Has nobody seen an alien before."
No spoilers here, but in this entire franchise, almost nobody has ever seen an alien and been able to tell anybody else about it, and nobody would believe the few who did.
So, yeah, this is the first time any humans have seen an alien ship or any aliens capable of building one (some explorers found planets with alien plants, bugs, and animals, but nothing smarter or more dangerous than a tiger).
I maintain that the cat was in league with the alien. It lured Brett to his death, and it tried to do the same to Ripley.
This is why I'm a dog person.
When the alien bursts out of Kains chest the others didn't know that it would happen so their reaction is genuine.
35:35 the cat is just too small to be "impregnated". It isn't a threat either.
funny how you said the atmosphere wwas like islayion. cause that the name of a game- alien-isloation
The stunned silence at the chest burster scene was fantastic.great reaction.
great movie, great reaction ✌
that scene 18:43 will always hunt me 👀
The alien evolves based on the available host. So, man in a suit was more applicable, as the alien used human host dna.
When Ripley is getting into her spacesuit the alien isn't attacking because it has been constantly growing and it got itself stuck in its hiding place, so it's trying to get out.
6 weeks.....well lets find out about that.
At 21:37 you hear the alien hissing
Like Liam, I always wondered why the xenomorph didn't attack Jonsey in the carrier. I only recently started to think: it understood that this meant Ripley was trying to escape, and that it should go where Ripley was TRYING to go, before it blocked her and caused her to try undoing the self-destruct.
Jones wouldn't suit their purposes, so the left him alone.
Great reaction 😊
JAWS... please please
It’s on the list! ☺️
Hi to you both, it's great you've seen this sci-fi classic, it's so good. Please react to it's incredible sequel Aliens (1986) soon, it's one of the GOAT sequels. For this first movie though, one of the producers/writers got the idea for the chestburster scene from a dream!
Ian Holm played Bilbo in the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy.
Very true. Ridley proved that hes a great visual storyteller in Alien.
But its sequel is a masterclass in quick storytelling and immersion. James Cameron does it again. He gives us the ultimate 3D experience in Aliens, making us love and care about his characters and their story in no time. Aliens has the greatest rewatch value of the whole franchise and for good reason.
I think it's definitely a masterclass in genre shifting! Aliens is a blueprint for a whole new genre at the type.
I do like Alien more than Aliens but that's subjective
I love watchin you 2😊 you are amazin. Hope you can do more reaction videos for horror movies😀so fun to watch
You have to watch Aliens. It's one of the best sequels ever made. By the guy who made Terminator 2 and Avatar and Titanic. Probs should watch Prometheus as well before watching Romulus. Definitely Aliens though. It's a must watch.
I hope that y'all do reactions for all of the Alien movies. Although not all of them are great, I still love the story and lore behind the Aliens.
12:26 "Let's not be too hasty.." funny to hear Bilbo (Ian Holm, who played Frodo in the wonderful BBC radio series) quoting LotR's Treebeard there.
You must watch Aliens. Make sure you watch the enhanced or directors cut version and do not watch the rest of the series 3 and 4, they were just money grabs and did not follow the storyline. Romulus happens between Alien and Aliens timeframe which is suppose to be quite excellent.
Aliens is the direct sequel. You´ll love it. great reaction.
Thank you! We are looking forward to watching the next one! 😊
The next in the series "ALIENS" is a greater masterpiece which I know you will enjoy.
In my opinion you’d be doing yourselves a disservice if you don’t watch the director’s cut of Aliens.
When you see Aliens, try to watch the extended version. You won't regret it
Hello, from South America, Chile, the main actress was the first woman to fight a monster, a very good saga. There are 4 alien movies, then Alien vs Predator, Prometheus and Alien Covenat came out.
Without reading all the comments, you watched one of the best movies ever. Enjoyed the reaction.
Yes there are sequels and spin-offs, do i understand correctly you will go in to these ?
ALIEN , ALIENS (plural-guess you know what this means) , ALIEN 3 , ALIEN RESURRECTION , PROMETHEUS , COVENANT ... and from august 2024 ALIEN ROMULUS
There is also AVP (alien vs predator) quite entertaining, but do watch predator first. Also AVP REQUIEM (this is garbage and not recommended)
The first 3 alien movies all very good, the 4th has good first half, then collapses. Prometheus and Covenant a different vibe, still worth watching. Romulus ... sadly not seen myself (yet).
A very nice touch is the name ASH, the android.
Spoiler: there will be an android in every sequel, see if you can spot the logic behind the android names. It is cute.
Thank you for sharing reaction!
The way to watch the Alien franchise: Watch the first two movies -- there ya go, you are done.
However, if you like fan-fiction with a Hollywood budget, then you might enjoy the rest of the films -- they can be a lot of fun. But they are not 'essential viewing'. Enjoy!
The Terminator franchise? See above.
Definitely watch Aliens, both amazing films. The newest one, Romulus is set 20 years after this one, I personally enjoyed it a lot as well so give it a try after watching the other movies 😁
What's adds a level of terror, is that we don't know just how intelligent these crestures are.
More so in Aliens, and i hope you watch the director's cut. Fills in some background info that enhances the characters' backstory.
Alien Romulus takes place sometime after the first film, but...well, I'm on the fence as far as liking it. Romulus has references to the sequels, and prequels that i didn't like.
Nice to see others react to the old classics and give such high marks for. When watching Aliens the 2nd one make sure it's the director's cut. It's a little bit longer but gives more backstory of Ripley and making for better understanding of the second movie.
If wanting to understand where they came from then watch Prometheus followed by Alien Covenant gives full reasons for creation and why.
Alien Romulus is supposed to be taking place between the first and second movies. However, they use the retconned backstory from Prometheus and Covenant, which screwed up or replaced everything that made sense in those movies. So it's best not to think about it when watching Romulus and just pretend the first four Alien movies didn't happen.
Aliens may be the only other Alien movie that's still considered canon- Alien: Romulus is the first one that's come out since Disney bought the franchise, and it disregards at least Alien Resurrection, and maybe also Alien 3 (I haven't seen Romulus yet)
If you're going to watch the sequels, the Aliens director's cut has more character development, but the theatrical cut is more suspenseful. For Alien 3, you should watch the assembly cut. The theatrical cut was so bad, people were fearing it had killed the franchise. Most people will tell you not to bother with any of the others.
42:30 the new movie, Alien Romulus, happens between Alien and Aliens. It doesn't interfere in the story at all, meaning it's not a prequel to Aliens. It just goes in that timeline between 1 and 2.
