5:02 I always loved the fact that, the teacher that say's "You're just too darn loud" is played by *Huey Lewis* The guy who sang the actual song "The Power of Love" that was a hit worldwide. ha ha ha
I saw this in the theater in 1985, but it took me about 30 years to realize that the “weather experiment permit” was simply Doc paying the cop a bribe.
Not sure if you noticed but at the beginning of the movie the mall was called Twin Pines Mall with a backdrop of two pine trees but at the end of the movie when Marty returns to the mall the sign says Lone Pine Mall. Marty drove over the pine when he first went back in time and destroyed it.
When Biff calls George an "Irish bug" it's because his name is McFly, but names starting with "Mc" are actually Scottish, not Irish. Biff is too stupid to insult people properly.
The car is a DeLorean and had a stainless steel body. The company was only around for a couple years. Song is "Johnny Be Good" by Chuck Berry. You know the guy the band leader called on the phone.
thats because delorean was just using the car company as a front for cocaine: In October 1982, DeLorean was charged with cocaine trafficking after FBI informant James Hoffman solicited him as financier in a scheme to sell 220 lb (100 kg) of cocaine worth approximately $24 million. DMC was insolvent at the time and $17 million in debt.
Everyone agrees that George is a bit creepy because he's a peeping Tom. But if you look closely it appears that the window he is looking through is in Lorraine's house. Lorraine's father yells out, "Another one of these kids jumped in front of my car!" All this leads me to believe that Lorraine is just as creepy as George. He's a Peeping Tom and she's an exhibitionist.😮😊
Years ago I worked on a golf course grounds crew with 10 guys and we had to walk from out start of the day assignments to the mowers, past an apartment building @5:30am, and there was a woman who exposed herself at her bedroom window, EVERY MORNING!
Nah. Even if that was Lorraine in the window, we know for a fact she didn't know who George was at that point. It's super creepy. No one should do that. But, unrelated, now I'm wondering why the dad was driving so fast in front of his own house.
No I doubt that. She is on the 2nd floor and assumes no one can see into her window. She didn't expect some guy to climb a f'n tree to look at her. One guy obviously told his friends about it.
What I love about this reaction is that Ellie and Michelle, by watching this movie, are looking back in time to 1985, 39 years ago, and noticing all of the things that were current at that time like they are ancient history - which they are to them. 39 years is farther back in time than how far back Marty McFly went - 1985 to 1955 - only 30 years. ❤
The really fast, rocking song Marty plays at the dance is the 1958 "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry, the primary inventor of rock music. Berry was one of a handful of men who invented rock and roll, and probably the primary one. In fact, this song is part of the invention of rock. Berry was the first person inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was inducted on the day it opened. The Beatles were huge fans of his.
Chuck Berry was definitely a great contributor to solidifying what rock and roll would be, in a time when it was still mostly nebulous as a style/genre.

@@windandcloudshadow158 Yeah, a parody. Not a copy. Just like how Metroman from Megamind is a parody of Superman. Obviously, they copied some shit. Like powers, appearance, skills, etc. But they are still quite different. And so is the story.
In my opinion, Back To The Future is the most consistent movie trilogy, at least in terms of quality, which is ironic because it breaks the key rule of a trilogy of essentially doing the same story 3 times, yet it works given the motif of history repeating itself. Look at all of the elements that appeared in all 3 films: Marty saying "This is heavy" & Doc Brown saying "Great Scott," Marty hitting his head & waking up with a version of his mother taking care of him, Marty walking into a diner & encountering a Tannen as well as a Strickland, a chase scene in the town square & Marty almost crashing into a vehicle, a Tannen crashing into manure, a scene where a character wears a bullet proof vest, pictures/documents changing, Marty being called "chicken," & of course the entire clock tower scene all appear in each film.
There are two television shows from the 70s and 80s that I would encourage you to check out. First, Family Ties, which was Michael J. Fox's show. He was actually filming the show while also working on the film. Poor guy was working almost around the clock, sleeping about three hours between jobs. Yet he still turned in a great performance. A true professional. Second, Taxi, inwhich Christopher Lloyd played a burned out hippie cab driver. I think you would find the whole cast amazing as most of them became household names. Up until BTTF, this was Lloyd's signature role.
Though he had already been acting on stage for a while, Lloyd was relatively a latecomer to the big screen. His debut was in _One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,_ when he was 37. On average, that’s more of a peak year, possibly when getting a first Oscar, rather than debuting.
Ellie & Michelle Teacher with the bullhorn is the singer named Huey Lewis. His band, Huey Lewis and the News did the opening theme song, Power of Love.
He found Doc Brown's address in a book. Yes, in a phone book. Don't you remember those? Everyone used to have a phone book that had all the phone numbers and sometimes the addresses of the people in a town. And there were phone books in the public phone booths. Marty used one of those here.
And the phonebook manufacturers gave them to everyone for free. They left one on the doorstep of every home and business. They delivered new ones every year. They were paid for by the companies that posted ads in the "yellow pages" section of the book.
I still remember them as being so thick that it was considered impressive for someone to be able to rip one on half. However, the last one I ever received (many years ago) was smaller than the average manual for a car.
I love the irony in that the guy who plays the judge in the beginning saying they're just "too darn loud" was played by the lead singer of the band who wrote the opening song lol.
He didn't write all the songs. Many outside writers were used. For the most part he co-wrote maybe 6-7 songs on every album. He never wrote a song by himself. All songs are co-writes.

Most telephone books/directories are only available online. The "White Pages" are telephone directories for homes. "YELLOW PAGES" are telephone directories for businesses. The physical directories were phased out as mobile phones became popular. There are still some small towns and remote areas in North America where phone books/directories are still available because cell phone towers and mobile phones are not in use because there is no cell service.
My current city still makes both white and yellow page books. I found a set at a local library. I was impressed to learn, instead of a landline, it included cell phone numbers.
1:50 One clock shows the right time. It's on the floor, on it's side, and Marty walks right by it. The skateboard rolls past it as well, when it hits the Plutonium. It's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment. 10:30 And if his calculations weren't correct, they would have been in deep doo-doo of a different type. The bully principal had a point. 20:10 "Naughty Birdwatching". 24:20 It isn't until the third movie that we find out that this dog is named Copernicus. 43:50 "What else could go wrong?" The problem I have is that there's a one-minute time window, and that corresponds to one and a half miles at 88 mph. But the movie takes that question in a different direction.
Directed, by Robert Zemeckis. This was one of the most quotable films, in the 80's. "Forrest Gump", was the most quotable movie, of the 90's. When everyone left the theater, after watching "Cast Away", in the 2000's, they were all yelling the same name..."Wilson!" Look up, his other movies. Always, his characters are dealing with one fear, or another, and, hopefully, healing from them. It strikes a chord, in all of us.
WARNING: If and when you have your friend watch part 2, make sure she doesn't see the previews for part 3, which are included at the end of part 2. Those previews contain spoilers for part 3.
That's how it was intended. They showed them in the theater when part 2 came out... Part 3 was released less than a year later. It isn't a "spoiler", it's a teaser :)
Fun fact: Rick and Morty was originally going to be Doc and Marty, a spinoff of this movie, but they could not get the rights so they changed the name and the premise.
5/5 Some of my favorite movies are from the 1980s, and "Back to the Future" is no exception. I can see how Bob Gale (producer/writer) and Robert Zemeckis (director/co-writer) made it a memorable timeless classic, yet I don't even know where to begin; everything about this classic is just perfect. One of the reasons why I love "Back to the Future" so much, is because it tells a sensational story about how a person's skills and plans can effect somebody, especially how one can plan a good future for people.
Hi, thank you so much for reacting to BTTF Part 1 and for your great reactions. Please watch Parts 2 & 3 as BTTF really is The Greatest Trilogy EVER, and from your reactions, you are going to love them. Spoiler alert, when you get to the end of part two it will show 'TO BE CONCLUDED', it may be best to stop it there as it shows some bits of part three, which can spoil it for some people. 🙂 ❤
The “notebook” is a telephone directory. It was a common element in homes in times past. There used to be the telephone directory, of the corresponding city, in each house, to be able to locate the phone number of whoever you had to call (landlines ☎️, because if you don't know it, although it is obvious in 1985 and even less so in 1955, there was not even a era It is common to have mobile phones, let's not even talk about smartphones...)
Rick and Morty are a parody of these two, but they are NOT the same at all. Rick's a sociopathic alcoholic, Morty's a dorky kid. Doc is an energetic genius, Marty's basically the coolest kid in school.
Yes, Doc and Marty were the direct inspiration for Rick and Morty. Basically, Rick and Morty started out as an animated short that reimagined Doc as a foul-mouthed drunk and Marty as a coward, and the show sprang from that.
You just watched it😁I'm glad you enjoyed it so much😁It's fantastic movie!😁Funny, epic, I love the story, characters. Doc and Marty are pure legends!😁Bye girls😁

15:18 great question…. Andcthe problem I have with time travel stories. If you travel back in time, the earth would not be where you left. It is spinning, revolving around the sun, spinning around a galaxy and the universe is expanding. The earth would not still be in the same place you left it.

Yeah, even in the 90s we had ancient technology, called a "phone book" where you could look up phone numbers of people you know. Not everyone was listed though.
Even in the US, no one under the age of 45 gets Biff's joke/threat "make like a tree...and get OUT of here!" I'm not going to explain it other than- it's a flip on a common saying. That's the only clue.
Such a joy to see Ellie and Mish so captivated by this classic movie; you just know they've thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Now bring on the second part!
It never made sense they still live in that same small house by the electrical lines at the end. Marty should have came home to the wrong house. It's also interesting he has no memories of this new timeline.
This is a film with many details that, if you talk too much and get distracted, you will miss and thus harm the immersion in this wonderful fantasy adventure. How can you think from 14 minutes into the video that Marty would be going to the future and not 1955? Didn't you notice that Dr. Brown had programmed the machine to the past?
You girls know the guy that told Marty that his band is too loud? That was Huey Lewis. The singer of the songs "power of love" and "back in time" that were in this movie. It was a tongue in cheek joke.
Great reaction! Nice to see a movie back on the channel for a change. If you haven't noticed, your views for movies are much higher than for tv series. You might want to pay attention to that since I assume you are running a business here.
Wow, you are picking up some amazing references right at the start! Good job picking up on it that Rick and Morty is based on Doc and Marty. And I like the call out of Laika the space dog. But come to think of it, that would be more obscure a bit of trivia to me, an American, than it may be to you.
9:26 this is not make-believe for the movie...... This is what antennas used to look like on remote controls. My friend used to race remote control cars and his controller looked very similar. This film is a paradox. Film critics still debate today why this movie is such an enduring classic that is still standing the test of time. The Back To The Future franchise is one of the greatest franchises in the history of cinema. Great reaction Homies! 👍🏿
I have watched Ellie's reaction of Back To The Future a couple of times now and I loved every minute of Ellie's solo reaction.
I recently watched Ellie's reaction to Back To The Future again , just like I did when I first discovered these two absolute beauties that is Ellie and Michelle and their "The Homies" TH-cam channel, which I am very happy to support by the way, especially for Ellie and Michelle 😘😍🥰🤗.
I look forward to connecting with you both and watching more and more of your beautiful reactions to other movies on here that your yet to discover , watch and react to ❤❤.
I can see why Ellie likes it so much and is one of her favourite movies , if not her favourite and that's why she as introduced it to Michelle.
Ellie and Michelle thank you to both of you for being so kind , caring , sweet , loving, amazing and awsome , beautiful ladies , please Keep Smiling and laughing as you always do beautiful ladies, because I LO❤E to see and hear it. Especially when I see you both smiling and hear you two both talk and laughing, it always brightens up my day and puts a massive smile on my face 🤗.
Also please keep your amazing reactions and content coming because I LO❤E every single minute of it and LO❤E spending time with the both of you two.
7:20-7:23 is the greatest reaction EVER
Most telephone books/directories are only available online. The "White Pages" are telephone directories for homes. "YELLOW PAGES" are telephone directories for businesses. The physical directories were phased out as mobile phones became popular. There are still some small towns and remote areas in North America where phone books/directories are still available because cell phone towers and mobile phones are not in use because there is no cell service.
My current city still makes both white and yellow page books. I found a set at a local library. I was impressed to learn, instead of a landline, it included cell phone numbers.
Excellent trilogy. I hope you two are gonna watch the rest of back to back. They tied these movies together expertly
Weather permit = $20 cash in hand.
‘Tab’ and ‘Pepsi Free’ were both sodas in the 80s
22:41 You did a perfect George McFly laugh!
Stop saying they’re like Rick and Morty. They came first, so Rick & Morty are like them.
When Aragorn kicked the helmet, he actually broke his foot. Just kidding 😂
I LOVE this movie, and seeing it through fresh eyes makes me love it all the more.
Directed, by Robert Zemeckis.
This was one of the most quotable films, in the 80's.
"Forrest Gump", was the most quotable movie, of the 90's.
When everyone left the theater, after watching "Cast Away", in the 2000's, they were all yelling the same name..."Wilson!"
Look up, his other movies.
Always, his characters are dealing with one fear, or another, and, hopefully, healing from them.
It strikes a chord, in all of us.
"Back to the Future, " is a great film. Very iconic. Thanks.
This is not 1985 acting. It's just comedic acting.
@@danielcameron9857 Those "teasers" reveal too much of the plot, hense, they are spoilers.
31:36: No, actually. Those glasses were used to watch movies in 3-D, which first came out in the 1950s. 😎
@36:10 "park" in the 50s and 60s is sort of understood to mean kissing, touching, and, um, doing other things with your date in a car.
Idk if you noticed the manure company name on the side of the truck, it was D. .
Just keep an eye out in part 3.
Yes, Doc and Marty were the direct inspiration for Rick and Morty. Basically, Rick and Morty started out as an animated short that reimagined Doc as a foul-mouthed drunk and Marty as a coward, and the show sprang from that.
This trilogy is so nostalgic 😊
You just watched it😁I'm glad you enjoyed it so much😁It's fantastic movie!😁Funny, epic, I love the story, characters. Doc and Marty are pure legends!😁Bye girls😁
Rick and Morty were modeled after Doc and Marty, originally as a spoof. In fact, Christopher Lloyd played a live action version of Rick at one time.
Napoleon Dynamite, True Romance and Swingers are surprising omissions from your library.
Doc and Marty was indeed the bases for Rick and Morty
Whenever I see a review for this movie I love watching the fans try to beat each other to the lone pine mall and Huey Lewis reference. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣😳 well done guys!
How about the homeless guy at the end is the mayor from 1955?!?!
15:18 great question…. Andcthe problem I have with time travel stories. If you travel back in time, the earth would not be where you left. It is spinning, revolving around the sun, spinning around a galaxy and the universe is expanding. The earth would not still be in the same place you left it.
Mich got right into it! Especially at the car scene.
Doc’s house is the Gamble House of Proctor & Gamble in California.
Notice before Marty left,it was the"twin pines mall, when he came back,it was the"lone pine mall".;?
Marty,s dad,George mcfky is played by cripin Glover.
Girls rik and morti was born from the back to the future movies. Grate movie trilogy watch this in the cinema when it came out. Love your reaction to this
Yeah, even in the 90s we had ancient technology, called a "phone book" where you could look up phone numbers of people you know. Not everyone was listed though.
The best trilogy ever made, please enjoy the experience.
Crispen glover, the actor that played George mcfly.
Even in the US, no one under the age of 45 gets Biff's joke/threat "make like a tree...and get OUT of here!" I'm not going to explain it other than- it's a flip on a common saying. That's the only clue.
Ya know it was a very good thing Doc Brown wasn't a MAD scientist! He was a sane one😉
Great Scott. Excellent choice, Homies!!!
Famous event on October 26th,"gun fight at the ok corral."
Such a joy to see Ellie and Mish so captivated by this classic movie; you just know they've thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Now bring on the second part!
no, don't bother with the other films, they are horseshit
It never made sense they still live in that same small house by the electrical lines at the end. Marty should have came home to the wrong house. It's also interesting he has no memories of this new timeline.
This is a film with many details that, if you talk too much and get distracted, you will miss and thus harm the immersion in this wonderful fantasy adventure. How can you think from 14 minutes into the video that Marty would be going to the future and not 1955? Didn't you notice that Dr. Brown had programmed the machine to the past?
Perfect reaction. Thank you.
Huge fan of the back to the future movies 😊
You girls know the guy that told Marty that his band is too loud? That was Huey Lewis. The singer of the songs "power of love" and "back in time" that were in this movie. It was a tongue in cheek joke.
This movie and the other sequels are always rewatchable. Never gets old. You should react to musical classic 'grease' & grease 2. Think youll love it❤
never realized that Ellie's laugh is like George McFly's
Chuck Berry (Marvin's cousin), Go Johnny Go!
This is not a case of them trying to predict what remotes will look like in the future...... That was what was necessary to work 40 years ago
22:58 🤣🤣🤣🤣 there are 6 tvs in my house!!!!
so the guy hits a "kid" with his car who remains unconscious for 9 hours and they just let him lay on a bed?..if he dies he dies..
