Four pals are stuck in a rut in adulthood: Adam (John Cusack) has just been dumped, Lou (Rob Corddry) is a hopeless party animal, Craig (Craig Robinson) is a henpecked husband, and Jacob (Clark Duke) does nothing but play video games in his basement. But they get a chance to brighten their future by changing their past after a night of heavy drinking in a ski-resort hot tub results in their waking up in 1986.

right, I saw it in the cinema cus there was nothing else on. It's one of my favorite movies. The script is tight and the performances excellent. I think it was one of those under the radar flukes.
I love how there's actual 80's celebs in this movie. John Cusack from Better Off Dead and Say Anything. Crispin Glover from Back to the Future. Chevy Chase from the Vacation movies. William Zabka from the Karate Kid.

My family is a huge Moltey Crue fan. We have gone to concerts and watched all the music videos, and seeing that ending fucking KILLED us. It was the hardest laugh I have ever had with my family. Such a lasting memory when I was 11 Years old.
This movie has everything! It’s got time travel, the 80s, mild action, and non-stop laughter!

Based on the amount of times we quote it at home, my favorite part might be the "Hero" speech and fight scene. My siblings and I have seen this movie too many times. 🤣

the only sure-shot way to make money by time traveling (or sending just information - like latitude / longitude) to the past (that is butterfly effect proof) is -- the geographic knowledge of riches AKA - locations of undiscovered gold veins or oil deposits. these are stable as they have been in the same place for many, many years. anything on the planets surface or based on history will be much harder to predict. though some concepts are evergreen (personal computers, internet, integrated circuits)... the way in which they come about or are commercialized.... are highly altered by butterfly effects.
I actually like #2 more. It's ridiculous, but very quotable.

1 - "The Night Before" (It's a Christmas movie. "You're in the present! The weed of Christmas Present." "But by that logic, isn't ALL weed the weed of Christmas Present?" "Only on Christmas, kid. That'll be a hundred bucks, get the fuck out of my car."
2 - "Your Highness" (It's like Zelda, but with weed).

Stay away from 2. One was GREAT, I seen it when it came out for Free as a Test Audience.
Two is just rehashed jokes from one. Its like Borderline "reboot" so many jokes are the same. Instead of pee splash its "ball juice", they do "You look like..." Like 2 or 3 times, a Car wants to beat up Lou instead of a Person.
2 is an Ok "Sunday Movie" that you come across, just dont go "looking for it" and enjoy the HILARITY that was this one. 2 was just a Money Grab rewrite of 1.

I don't get why this movie only got ~6/10 (professional critics, can't trust them or their scores eh, am I right?). It's a straight *8/10* for me. It's hilarious and isn't afraid of going beyond any other movie when it comes to.. you know what I mean. ;) The Memory Paradox: One thing I always wonder about time travel movies where they change the past and go "Back To The Future" is what the heck their "real" selves were doing while they messed about in the past. Why don't they remember their changed lives when they return? Did they just "kill" their changed selves by "overwriting" them? ;)
Yes! That has always bothered me too. Overwriting is a great way to put it
The only critic I used to trust back then was Roger Ebert, and he gave it a very positive review. God bless him, he directed me towards so many good films I would have passed up otherwise.
