Thank you for being here, Dunkey, you and your unabashed, contagious passion for games, movies and just havin’ a good time. Bless you, man. Ofcourse he has. Lil Kirbs is merely an alter ego of Dunkey, when he is actually plugging in the controller and only wears an eyepatch, rather than a blindfold. Ofcourse it's still his little brother playing - the game couldn't handle 100% Dunkey.
Every once and a while, dunkey creates something like this and it just really blows me away how a guy that made a video called “Monkey McDonalds” can also make such a great review of these two films. Great job on this vid, I think it’s one of my favorite so far.
@@sargezero Everyone shits on Spiderman 3 but thinks the Star Wars prequels are unironically good. I think Spiderman 3 gets way too much flak from fans. The prequels aren't as bad as everyone said they were upon initial release, but they're still boring.
Did you knos that the director of Whiplash, dosn't like the director of LaLaLand. Whiplash director's Damien Chazzel, said that Damien Chazzel director of LaLaLand copied his idea.
It’s actually awe inspiring how well dunkey can articulate a point. When he was talking about how movies must over exaggerate the human experience to make it feel more realistic... to “photograph the photograph”. I paused and took a moment to try and meditate on what that meant. After 2 min I felt I had a vague idea, but after I hit play and he contrasted an awkward kiss from twilight to the theatrical La La Land kiss... everything immediately clicked. Listening to Jason share his insight for a whole video, even just a 4 and a half min one, is always incredibly refreshing.
Agreed. Dunkey is great at taking the piss out of stuff and not being serious, but when he puts his serious hat on he is so succinct and on point. Its funny because I understood what he meant by exaggeration in order to appear realistic, and then when he showed the kiss in Twilight it was exactly the kind of visual I was thinking of.
When I read this comment, I immediately liked it, then went to watch the video again cause I didn’t have a single Clue what you were talking about. At first I didn’t get it, until I saw the the man to the left. It instantly fell together like puzzle pieces and I feel so good inside.
Dunkey is a genius, cramming emotions of two 90min movies into 4:30min video. Notice the use of music: - 0:10 the melancholic setup - 0:22 a lively explanation of Fletcher character - 0:53 dark side of Fletcher with some serious dread notes - 1:01 music drastically cut for Fletcher shouting at fatty - 1:32 music _not_ changing when throwing Spiderman reference to make it even funnier - 1:59 channeling the uplifting part of the scene - 2:11 music breaks, reality checks in - 2:20+ music goes on/off, jumping between the dream and reality - 3:44+ now here is where the genius is really coming in. The hype build. The perfect hybrid between the scenes from La La Land and Whiplash building tension, finishing on one the best shots - Fletcher smiling with his eyes. So much stronger than actually showing the smile. - 4:09 meta message. Masterpiece. Unsubscribed, bye bye.
Jesse Eastman all my friends have seen it and i’m the only one who did not like it lmao i was going in expecting a movie honoring music and drum playing but instead it was about an abusive and egotistical teacher and his asshole student that would rather satisfy and gain the "respect" of his abuser than be a good person. don’t get me wrong i’m a fan of a lot of movies and tv shows about fucked up subjects and people. i just went into this movie after spending a month watching mozart in the jungle (amazing show, 10/10 would recommend!) which is all about the meaning and importance of music. i guess if i knew it was gonna be fucked up i could have enjoyed it more.

It’s been almost 4 years and the ending of this video might just be one of the the best audiovisual moments I’ve ever experienced.
I mean, the whole video is a strong contender for Dunkey’s magnum opus. I’ve rewatched this countless times and I still get chills at the ending cut.
Thank you for being here, Dunkey, you and your unabashed, contagious passion for games, movies and just havin’ a good time.
Bless you, man. All the best wishes to you and your loved ones from a HUGE long-time fan. :) o/
The thing about La La Land is it really makes you FEEL like Whiplash
And the thing about Whiplash is it really makes you feel like you're getting whiplash and dying from your neck snapping
Damn it beat me to it
You are nitpicking and biased, I win, bye bye.
Didn't Emma Stone die from whiplash in a spiderman movie
Did you even watch the video or did you just rush to make the same comment as everyone else?
J.K. Simmons did a outstanding job in Whiplash and he is easily the best part about the movie
I think the crying fat kid stole a bit of his thunder though.

You don’t have the world record on bowser’s big bean burrito anymore. Therefore no one can trust you Dunkey.
It’s true
Lil Kirbs has it
Ofcourse he has. Lil Kirbs is merely an alter ego of Dunkey, when he is actually plugging in the controller and only wears an eyepatch, rather than a blindfold. Ofcourse it's still his little brother playing - the game couldn't handle 100% Dunkey.
Oj
@@Shuizid very true
I love how after i revisit this video over and over again I still get chills everytime at the end. 9/9
Every once and a while, dunkey creates something like this and it just really blows me away how a guy that made a video called “Monkey McDonalds” can also make such a great review of these two films. Great job on this vid, I think it’s one of my favorite so far.
It's just the sort of talent you'd expect from the world record holder on Bowser's Big Bean Burrito!
@@YourCrazyOverlord his record got beaten recently though, but the guy who beat it wasnt using a blindfold so it barely counts tbh

Somehow it was just as, perhaps more, informative, accurate, and entertaining.

In 2019, THAT is something. 😂
Intellectual here

doesn't count he didn't have a blindfold on hands tied behind his back while his little brothers dog did the level
Nah, that was just his little brother's alt account. He still has the record.
Dunkey is a genius, cramming emotions of two 90min movies into 4:30min video. Notice the use of music:
- 0:10 the melancholic setup
- 0:22 a lively explanation of Fletcher character
- 0:53 dark side of Fletcher with some serious dread notes
- 1:01 music drastically cut for Fletcher shouting at fatty
- 1:32 music _not_ changing when throwing Spiderman reference to make it even funnier
- 1:59 channeling the uplifting part of the scene
- 2:11 music breaks, reality checks in
- 2:20+ music goes on/off, jumping between the dream and reality
- 3:44+ now here is where the genius is really coming in. The hype build. The perfect hybrid between the scenes from La La Land and Whiplash building tension, finishing on one the best shots - Fletcher smiling with his eyes. So much stronger than actually showing the smile.
- 4:09 meta message.

very very true, such an amazing film that others must see!
