1:30:04 I KNOW WHAT THE NOTE SAID! when I saw wicked live I was blessed by being approached by this backstage person who picked me at random to get to have that prop (they need a new one every show bc elphie's green makeup gets all over it). i was a kid and sadly lost it (mentally beating my past self up rn), but if I remember correctly it actually told elphie that fiyero was safe, and she just lied to glinda about it. i just think that's a fun little tidbit because in most scenarios the audience would never even know
1:10:29 it’s probably because (from what I’ve learned about the book), the prophecy was that 2 sisters would change the landscape of Oz forever, so I assume it is a genetic thing

What did I miss omg lmao turns out I missed nothing besides the fact after the defying gravity song they split ways lmao I was kinda disappointed it ended on a cliff hanger but than again I have no right to be dissatisfied about a almost 3 hour movie for part 1 lmao so part 2 likely will be another 3 hours so I’m appreciative & I’m even MORE appreciative that it’s coming out almost exactly a year from now so there’s no yearsss of waiting for the next one , it’s coming out in November 2025 :)
Also as someone who doesn’t really know anything about the world of oz going into this movie wicked and watching the movie for part 1 than watching your recap of both part 1 & 2 since I watched part 1 already while you’re telling the story of part 2 it’s like crazy how vivid the story in my head is flowing because I see ariana & Cynthia acting out part 2 in my head even tho I never seen part 2 cause the movie doesn’t exist out (lol it’s filmed but not out yet) & I haven’t watched the play lol If that makes sense .. in other words your recap/retelling really brings your words to life

The wicked lore to me is soooo cool!!! I remember seeing the musical for the first time in 2018 on tour and freaked out seeing how everything in act 2 connects to “The Wizard of Oz” and I LOVE IT!!!! Wicked Part 1 was sooooo good and Wicked Part 2 is gonna be just as good as Part 1 was!!! I LOVE this movie & the show 💚💖💐

I had a lot of fun watching your video. It's obvious how much you love the characters, I can't wait for the next part to come out in the movie, I loved the musical when I saw it in theaters, but I think the added time in the movie made it even more glorious. I hope the next part of the movie will incorporate a little more of the Wizard of Oz Dorothy scenes to show them properly on screen (like the part where Dorothy shows up in Munchkin Land after flattening Nessarose) AND most of all... I think the part in the book where Dorothy asks Elphaba for forgiveness for killing Nessa and is kind to Elphaba... it would be kind of beautiful to see Dorothy, offer empathy for Elphaba since it kind of was a shock to Elphaba's system in the book. I also kind of hope that they retool the March of the Witchhunters in the movie version, cause it really breaks the flow of Dorothy events since the Tin Man and Cowardly Lion are in the same place before Fiyero becomes the Scarecrow, which makes no sense. (If anything I'd like if the Tin Man was rusted during the scene where Morrible summons the storm). I also would like if the Scarecrow and Lion see that Elphaba was a good witch (since the Lion had no reason to hate Elphaba since she saved him and the Tin Man's whole thing is that he's a compassionate sensitive person).
how come the scarecrow (fiyero) helps Dorothy in killing Elphaba with the water, wouldn’t he have known her? or was his memory wiped when he turned into a scarecrow?
i love this question!! genuinely one of my faves whenever people get into Wicked! so because he knew the melting with water thing was a lie, it was a part of Elphie’s and Fiyero’s plan (that we never see them make or hear about, we just have to assume based on the ending and him saying “It worked”) where Dorothy would be told water melts the witch and it would “kill” Elphaba, meanwhile she is just hiding under the trapdoor which is how Fiyero is able to reunite with her afterwards and they’re able to escape Oz together! let me know if this makes sense I can always explain it a bit more too!🩷💚

@@raworganichoneymost of what you said is correct but Elpheba having to not get wet is mentioned by Madame Morrible long before she goes to the emerald city and starts being hunted. So it doesn’t make sense for her to have created a plan before she even knew she would need one. I personally think that because we don’t know how long she has been hiding that it’s more likely that she learned how to protect herself from melting.
As someone who has never read or seen wicked or the wizard of oz but has a girlfriend that has done all of those, this helps a ton since I got us tickets to the movie tomorrow.
I wonder if your questions around 1:10:00 are answered in the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West book. I basically never read fiction, but it has me interested!

Amazing video, very clear and informative, I would love a fan theory video , the only thing I don’t like about wicked is the timeline. Is the wizard centuries old or is oz and the emerald city just a few decades old because he ages like a normal human.
oh omg!! so i can actually answer this!!! i love this question!!!!! the city is just a few decades old! when he first came by accident to Oz and started his scheme so to say he came up with the idea to build a lavish green city (which also essentially divided Oz by class even more) so he is a normal human but everyone in Oz seems to not realize this! it’s implied the yellow brick road was made during Glinda and Elphaba’s time! but during wonderful he says the first thing he did when coming was building the road and city !

Elphaba frees animals from cages,,, while trump puts human kids in them 🤷🏼♀️ everything about Elphaba’s character is to go against the people in power to bring equality to everyone in Oz. Meanwhile trump IS the person in power trying to take away the rights of women and demonize people of color. Nothing about trump is queer, he’s a conservative white man in America. Sounds to me Trump is more like Madam Morrible or the wizard.
