- May was a BUSY month! I’ve got a bit of a life update to catch you up on in today’s episode, as well as my knitting progress these last 6 weeks (!) since my last podcast. It can honestly be kind of a bummer to have to dedicate time to work and life outside of yarn when it’s your ~one true obsession~, but life is also a balance, and I’m learning a little more about that every day of this busy season of life. I hope you enjoy the new episode and I’ll be back-fingers crossed, much sooner-with some new yarny goodness to share.

You literally just made me head off and buy the Cumulus. I am busy with her Alice Top and love the patterns, but I wasn't sure about the Cumulus. The colour you chose though has inspired me.
I'm so happy to see you! I love how you aren't afraid of color. Sure, you use a lot of neutrals, but a lot of podcasters I watch only use variegated yarns and speckles for socks. Whenever they say "it's a bit wild for a garment," I think, "wait, do I wear crazy clothing?" Because I've always thought I'm pretty basic with clothing and as an attorney I kind of have to be, but a muted variegated yarn seems perfectly reasonable to me. 😅
And this is no shade to people who only like to wear solids. Everyone should wear what makes them happy! It's just nice to see someone who wears similar colors to me. 😊
I just love knitting with fun colors! I’m definitely not an all neutrals person 😅color keeps me inspired and perks up my mood so I’m always happy to mix them into my wardrobe 😍

As someone who has been hoarding yarn for literal years I can tell you that the right project is going to reveal itself at one point or another. I would just advise against buying too many single skeins and more sweater quantities.
The other day I found a cute pattern and I had the exact same yarn in the pattern picture colourway in my stash 😂 Imagine my surprise! That doesn‘t happen all the time but what I love most is that yarns find their true purpose or pattern by accident. Yarn was intended to make a colourwork sweater? Well, now one skein is used for my niece’s sweater instead.
What I meant to say is: do whatever you feel comfortable with. If you don‘t like the yarn you got in Portland now, maybe you‘ll think differently another year from now? If you have the space/resources to keep it, I‘d consider keeping it. Anyway, thanks for sharing all your projects and WIPs with us, I’m now subscribed for your calming voice and enthusiastic way to present your knitting 💌

OMG I am currently knitting the soufflé blouse the mohair version while watching this and I’m debating on casting on my next project with one of the lord of the rings yarns I got. I got army of the dead and the white wizard. Actually your past videos made me start following long dog yarns and I was so excited about the pre order months ago.

Thanks so much for the kind comment! I can’t say for certain, but I imagine it would be lovely! It is still a DK with 60% Merino, but it looks like lots of people on Ravelry have used Dapple for that pattern and it looks great 😍

I think what you’re trying to say is men vs women 😂😂. I work with 95% women and they ALWAYS fawn over my hand knits. “Did you make that!?? It’s SO good!” Even if they aren’t knitters 😂😂
Well maybe but none of the women in my office notice what I wear at all, so 😂
