  • This one’s for the #yarnies. If you watched my recent Portland Road Trip vlog, I’m taking you through every skein and notion I picked up along the way!
    I hope everyone is doing alright during this time-it feels almost insurmountable to hope, pray, wish for peace after the tumultuous last three years we’ve had, but if there is anything you can to do support those suffering in the Ukraine, please do:
    www.npr.org/2022/02/25/108299...
    Finding little pockets of joy is essential for mental health and the human experience, so I hope this little yarn haul can provide some escape if you need it.
    Thanks for checking out my video!

      @@truelaneknits i’m slowly working on a sunflower granny square blanket, but right now i’m making a crochet bucket hat to have some change up to beanies over winter

    I love seeing what people buy. Online shops that I really love are Explorer Knits and Sewrella Yarn!

      I am soo eager to try Explorer Knits! I picked up Sewrella’s mini winter tonal set when it was on sale the other day so those will be my first of her shades 😍

    It was so nice to come across your podcast. Love your stash acquisitions. They are absolutely lovely. As far as double pointed needles goes, they are all that I have ever used and I am too comfortable with them to even want to try magic loop. The first round is a bit fiddly but after that you will be sailing right along. I look forward to seeing more podcasts from you. Have fun with your new endeavors. I am residing in Nova Scotia, Canada,

      Thank you so much Patricia! I have a few baby knits on my wishlist for my niece and nephew so I presume I'll have to try double-pointed needles then. I have always wanted to visit Nova Scotia, you are so lucky to live there. Thanks for watching!

    Oh man, that pistachio cream color is gorgeous... Looking forward to seeing what you did with it! I live in the Portland area so this was an especially useful video! Starlight is my go-to store, but I'll definitely make an effort to check out your other recommendations when I'm out and about. Next time you visit, Northwest Wools is also a great shop with lovely people and a really nice selection (especially of sock yarn!) Happy knitting ☺

    I hate magic loop too 😂 and I'm just about to learn dpns but I LOVE my 9 inch circulars for sock knitting. I use magic loop for toes which I find doable because it's such a short and small amount of knitting. I'm so excited for you and it's lovely to see your joy from discovering yarn. Looking forward to your next episode

      I had to do DPNs for the toe on my first socks because I didn't have the right magic loop needle size! It did NOT go well but I made it through, lol. Thank you so much!!

    New to your channel and love this episode. DPNs are great for small projects and it's nice to do magic loop when you need to. My preferred method for single socks is flexiflips. it's a nice compromise between the two methods. I pull out some DPNs to do heels. I like size 0.

      @truelaneknits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your comment! I've been wanting to try the flexiflip needles...I have a few baby knits to do for my niece and nephew so I'll probably have to try DPNs there!

    I find that the DPNs are less "fiddly " than magic loop, although I was intimidated by both.

    Love the content, thank you. The background music is very distracting and unnecessary, perhaps a lower volume?
