    If you want a now non cannon history of The Millennium Falcon, read James Lucerno's novel now part of the Legends sub series, Millennium Falcon. It recounts the ship's history from it coming off the assembly line to an adventure with Han, Leia, and their granddaughter Alanna.

    emm buddy the .5 past light speed was just Han saying that he had a class 0.5 hyper drive engine that is currently the fastest hyperdrive rating that anyone can get but the engine has to be modded to get there.

    Here's a couple I can think of:
    1. The Millennium Falcon is so heavily modified even its internal layout isn't stock. YT-1300s normally have a circular corridor around the center of the ship, with the cargo holds and passenger and crew compartments (depending on variant) jutting out of it apart from the primary forward hold, which is directly connected to the corridor, and the docking areas which form T-junctions in the corridor. Part of the Falcon's corridor was moved outwards to make room for additional systems and to expand the main hold.
    2. The grappler systems between the Falcon's mandibles aren't just static. The YT-1300 is equipped from the factory with short-ranged tractor beams that are used as a loading crane at spaceports that don't have specialized cargo handling facilities. This is an improvement over the YT-1200 and YT-1250 which featured a forward-mounted cargo crane.
    3. There are center-cockpit and cockpitless variants of the YT-1300. The cockpitless version replaces the cockpit with a center-mounted sensor suite that allows the ship to be flown completely from the engineering pilot station.

    The original 5ft model was modified for TESB by adding two extra forward landing gear boxes, ILM also built a 32" version with slightly different details including the extra landing gear then smaller versions of the Falcon were made for filming wider shots.
    The original 5ft didn't have the caution lights on the saucers underside but only on the port and star board side of the docking rings, they were later added to the lower saucer for TESB, ILM also added spot lights to the view port wall situated between the upper and lower jaws between the mandibles for TESB.
    The cockpits forward instrument panels for the 5ft and 32" studio models both have different layouts.
    Every version but the "Solo" versions mandibles were toed inward.
    All the outer piping and hardware was changed for the prequels including replacing the rectangular dish back to a round one for TROS.
    The single cannons seen in "Solo" were replaced and modified to quad cannons.
    The engine glow was originally white then changed to blue for the special edition of TESB.
    During the scene where we first see the Falcon in Docking bay 94, both the upper quad cannon and the radar dish is missing from the 1.1 scale prop which has never been corrected in any of the special or anniversary edition releases, even though a lot of CGI additions were made to the movies, ILM / Lucas Arts always seems to miss that detail.

    I knew a man who built a scale version of the Falcon from scratch the Landing gear took up a entire table top and the ship hung over the sides of the table from what I heard about it was it looked awesome as hell but I have always been a fan of the ship thinking it would be cool to own one like it but at this point would be just as happy with a 1/24 scale model of it just saying

    Designed (quietly) by Chris Foss and "Hod-Roded" by Han Solo♥️Radiation shielding looks flimsy by 21st century earth 🌎 standards. It must be a little more sophisticated than a primitive pre-luminal planet

    I'm still trying to figure out why people now think Rey owns the Falcon! I know she often fly's it with Chewie but that doesn't make it hers. In the last film she even referred to it as Han's ship.

    • @andrewjohnson6716
      @andrewjohnson6716 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if anyone owns it now after Han’s death, it would be Chewbacca or Leia.

    • @kingkaijugaming2841
      @kingkaijugaming2841 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If we’re talking legal ownership it would go to leia who died the correct ownership would be lando as Chewbacca wasn’t a owner but a part of the crew

    Sorry, "Kessel run in less than 5 parsecs" and "point 5 past light speed" are just TWO "Star Wars" movie quotes that I can't get past. In 1978, it was a fun movie. Science? Not so strong. Sorry. But??? I still bought the DeAgostini X-Wing, the R2-D2, and now the Millennium Falcon from FanHome. Hey!! I like to build models, but Star Trek at heart.

    When did LucasFilm start making the engines have a "blue glow"? You can clearly see in all the Original Trilogy movies the engines are always pure WHITE. It's been bugging me for a while that somewhere along the line somebody decided they were first very-light-blue and then a stronger shade of blue. The engines being white is particularly noticeable in RotJ when the fleet is about to jump to hyperspace and you can see all the engine colors - the Calamari starships are blue, the medical frigate and A-Wing are light-yellow, the C90 corvettes are reddish-orange, the B/X/Y-Wings are red, and the Falcon is WHITE.

    1200 kph in atmosphere is ridiculously slow for the level of power and technology in a ship like the MF. That's not even Mach 1 at sea level.
    I guess that's another silly star wars thing like only the lead ship does hyperspace tracking, or only the lead ship can navigate, shields don't work in atmosphere... I've gotta stop. It's making me dislike star wars.
