How about a list of Great RPGs for Working Adults? There’s got to be some subscribers who want to know what gems are out there which respect their time.
Either is good so long as, in terms of length and time constraint-respecting quality of life features, they can feasibly be enjoyed by adults who have jobs and/or families to attend to. How about you? Does that description cause any titles to spring to mind?
@Falchion1984 I've been playing Tales of Arise, Hogwarts Legacy, and Chained Echoes. The last of them has a great journal system that allows you to step away for a few days, weeks or even months, and then jump right back in without feeling lost or having forgotten the whole premise.
There's been a couple that I was just moseying along taking my time, doing everything there was to do, and many hours later I finally realized all those hours were just the prologue. 🤣
Please do a 10 great games you can't play anymore because live service shutdown. Example Final Fantasy Mobius. Was an android first before it came on Steam.
'Flame trousers' reminds me of when a pal of mine bought a black 2 piece suit with flames badly stitched on from Burtons, he wore it to everything. He's like "you wish you had a suit as cool as this." and I'm like "Nah mate, you look like Guy Fieri's accountant."
How about games that had incredible looking food? Because even Chef Ramsey would find nothing wrong with his good the food looks in some of these games. Case in point: Monster Hunter.
I can remember buying Rise of the Robots, excitedly smacking the cartridge into the console... and then having all joy sucked out of my body like a Shang Tsung victim. Not only that, when my friends and I went to play against each other, Player 1 HAD TO BE THE MAIN ROBOT, while Player 2 got to select from any of the enemy robots. On top of that, because the single-player campaign designated that each enemy robot got harder sequentially, it meant the characters were intentionally imbalanced too.
I remember renting it once at blockbuster. Always went there on Fridays to have something new for the weekend. Let's just say that was a bad weekend. Not only that but my mom rented it again the Friday after that. Thinking I liked it.
I was so excited to play this game when I saw it on the shelf selling for the PC. Then was elated when it was available for the SNES. Like everyone else found it so disappointing after (fortunately) renting it. I think my brothers and I played for about an hour before taking it back.
Back when I were a lad, I got a Sega Mega Drive for christmas. I also got a game to go with it: Last Battle. I knew it was trash even before I put the cartridge in the machine, however, I wasn't a totally ungrateful little plum and I did play it. In fact, I went back to it a year later and completed it, which wasn't an easy game as it was 1 life, no continues and it was pretty tough for early teens me.

(I have been a fan for quite a few years now and have had some MAJOR life changing events happen that threw me directly to the depths of deadly depression.. and jules lifted my spirits and saved my life. I got mad love and respect for ya jules (you absolute hero of my tale (literally mate.. if you read this: you literally saved my life. I spent what was to be my last day sitting there with my extinction in my hand. Crying and nauseous while experiencing my last moments alive alone.. i was absent-mindedly youtubing when jules reached thru the swirling dark clouds of oblivion had surrounded my mind's eye's view and "spoke to me" thru one of his outtros. And it paused the storm.. if only for a moment.. and i started seeking these lil messages out.. started seeking the help i desperately needed.. Fast forward a cpl years later and im so much better mentally and emotionally, healthier, bad drug free, and really thankful for a guy named jules.) So.. please? 10 times jules was an absolute ledge. That's my suggestion.
Rise of the Robots ironically makes me think of One Must Fall 2097. They were released like five months apart, and the graphics are pretty damn similar to my eye. What's ironic about that is that RotR was made by a team of devs, and the original One Must Fall was made by a dude in his off-time, who started the project just because his son wanted Street Fighter with robots.

Rating Forspoken and Redfall worse than Gollum is a wild take. Forspoken is like, 7.5 at worst and Redfall is maybe 6.5-7. They're okay to good, not great, in a year loaded with 9s and 10s. But they're not bad or even boring to play.
I would rather volunteer for a lobotomy than actually choose to sit through Forspoken’s god awful, quip-saturated, sassy girl-boss writing. Redfall is just a dysfunctional pile of trash.

Well, I suppose maybe Redfall would be 6-7, because it has good parts and mediocre parts that averages out to some kind of uneven 6.5. Forspoken I stand by. It's a good game if your machine can run it. People whine too much about the dialogue when it's perfectly fine, the actual story is quite nice, and the gameplay is great with amazing combat and movement that feels incredible.
Redfall's intro REALLY felt like Brink's overall delivery as well. Yeah, remember the game Brink? The Team Fortress 2 game that had worse AI problems than almost any FPS game has ever had? I was considerably hyped for that game, but the moment I realized that any "story" elements that game might have contained were jammed in between levels with bare-bones animatics, paired with narration from voice actors who sounded just as confused about the setting as I was... I quickly realized that it was an abandoned-at-launch product.

I'm so sad about Forspoken. The premice seemed so cool. I guess I'll still try to play it at some point but either I'll watch a playthrough before hand to know what I have to except or I'll be going full 🏴☠
Forespoken really shouldn't be on this list with crap like Gollum coming out this year. Honestly, it looks good by comparison to some of the occupants on the left-hand side of the bell curve.
Redfall is just another production that got made during the shutdown. We have to accept that any form of movie, TV show or video game produced between 2020-2021 is most likely going to be crap when it’s released now.
Biggest miss on this list for me was "Game of Thrones Genesis". It came out at the height of GoT hype, after reading the books and was SO excited for anything GoT related, it felt like the biggest kick in the arse that never got good.
Shadow the Hedgehog was a good character, before he was Flanderized from the relatable character he was in Adventure 2 into the edgelord he is now. Maybe he should have stayed dead after Adventure 2, at least then he wouldn't have been ruined so badly in later games.
Few I'd like to add: -Anthem - it was wildly obvious that Bioware didn't really know what they were doing with this pre-release, and having "live service" was already becoming a curse on any title. There was no faith that this would be worthwhile game -Fallout 76 - Bethesda has been known for having awful quality control for over a decade prior to F76 release, and relied on community to keep their games alive through mods and unofficial patches. But then they drop a game for which modding is not an option due to it online-only constraint. So typical bethesda quality + no community to pick up the slack = obvious failure from the start. This turned out to be an understatement of how bad the state F76 would release in. -Gotham Knights - same live service problem as Anthem, but now also having to fill enormous shoes Arkham franchise left behind. GK never stood a chance -No Man's Sky - kudos to the devs for bringing it back from the dead, but for a studio with no prior experience in making games of this scale, they promised an awful lot more than they could realistically achieve by initial release. It's weird to me how so many people got fooled by the marketing, but I guess I should thank those idiots for giving Hello Games money to continue developing NMS into excellent game it is today

10 bits of information in video games (or their manuals) that ended up being wrong. (And I don't mean intentional misdirection; I mean stuff that was probably cut or changed, or maybe they weren't thinking when they wrote it.)
The funny thing about what's being said about Rise of Robots, that all you need to do is low kick, is, it has been proven scientifically accurate. Just watch any episode of Battle Bots, with buzz saws, hammers, grinders, what-have-you, and if you see a robot in the shape of a little, squat rectangle, with a door-wedge on either side of it... basically just a squat trapezoid, you know right from the start that thing has a nine-out-of-ten chance of winning because it goes in low.
Games with maps compared to real world maps. . I'd love to see a video about thst. With Assassin's Creed Odyssey I was impressed thst it was a fairly realistic map of Greece, but scaled back a bit. Males we wonder about other comparable maps.
I've heard the theory that arkane made Redfall bad intentionally like "oh look at how awful this live service game did boss maybe you shouldn't have us do that anymore"
I enjoyed Forspoken for the most part. My general complaint is they could have improved it massively by making it a level-based thing instead of creating an empty open world.
People keep hating on TWD survival instinct. However I love the game. Played it for the first time when It released, I loved it then I still love it now
10 games modes that are better than the story mode or 10 game modes that are equally as good as the story mode. Halo multiplayer. Time splitters 2 challenge mode. Time crisis 2 challenge mode Smash bros adventure mode. I might have gotten some of the names wrong but they are just examples of a few I've enjoyed enjoyed.
Idk if it's my setup or what but I think maybe the mic gain was too high for this video because there was a buzz/hiss all throughout the video. Barring that it was a fun watch!
The best part of MK Mythologies Sub-Zero was the bloopers reel you got from finishing the game. By the way there was a second Mortal Kombat action-adventure game starring Jax called Special Forces that released in 2000. I never played it but I imagine it was just as good. I'm actually kinda surprised that the Saint's Row reboot was not on this list. The opening mission was not bad but thus far I have yet to go back to the game as the hipster/Gen Z vibe was just too overwhelming.
I remember when it came out and my parents drove me to Circuit City to buy it. We got there and they didn't have it. My dad was pissed off at them for promoting that they had it and didn't. Bait and switch and all that. Turns out, CC was unknowingly doing us a favor.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies. The worst part was, they had to add some general progression mechanics to the game, so you know what you couldn't do right away as Sub Zero? Ice Attacks! You had to "earn" them.
The original XIII is one of my all-time favorites. Great story, visuals, action. And the multi-player part was solid, too. What a shame the remake was such a disaster. Lots of love to you, Jules! Keep up the good work!
I haven't played much of Forspoken, got to the magical land pretty much. I can see how people find it cheesy or cringe dialogue. But it's didn't really bother me, I like Frey Holland personally.
I don't think Redfall's intro is that bad, it's a stylistic choice sure but it didn't bother me. When I saw it was a "4 player co-op that can be played as a single player". The alarms went off (turned out it was neither) I actually played Rise of The Robots on the SNES and yeah it was naff. Thankfully this was when you could rent games from a video rental store... Ok you had to rent Dvds because the Internet wasn't good enough to stream things. A DVD is a type of digital storage device that could be used to watch movies and such on a dvd player that followed the VHS Oh right, a VHS a form of magnetic storage for video information that can be shown on a television.
I was so unbelievably excited for Redfall to be good! A pseudo-White Wolf style world with kickass techmage protagonists from the announcement trailer! Probably the saddest one here
I'd give mine to Too Human. Couldn't even get past the first level before being done. Didn't help it was elongated by the freaking long death animation.
So first off, once again RedFall was NOT made by Arcane Studios, it was made by Arcane Austin, a brand new, untested studio owned by Arcane. Everyone is disappointed by it due it it's pedigree, but none talk about the fact it was the studio's first AAA Game, and not made by the studio that made the other games by Arcane. Second, and I hate to say this. I unironically enjoyed both Shadow and RedFall. Neither are good games, but have fun moments in how bad and broken they are, which raises them up in my opinion and even makes them fun. Shadow's multiple path game play was an amazing idea, though unlocking the true ending was a major pain. Also, I really enjoyed the boss fights in RedFall.
If only because I was absolutely the target audience for it, Shadow Gang 4 LIFE! I’m now going to infuriate a lot of people by saying that I’ve never played any other Sonic games.
I still hope we get 10 character videos. Where 10 best girls and guys, 10 recurring characters, ten characters in games they don't belong in and my favorite, 10 magicians/wizards/mages in games

Consider the context of the studio doing each game, the money put behind it, the claims each made.

"10 Of the Creepiest old men in video games". Brian Irons from Resident Evil 2 Remake is a solid start.

-Fallout 76 - Bethesda has been known for having awful quality control for over a decade prior to F76 release, and relied on community to keep their games alive through mods and unofficial patches. But then they drop a game for which modding is not an option due to it online-only constraint. So typical bethesda quality + no community to pick up the slack = obvious failure from the start. This turned out to be an understatement of how bad the state F76 would release in.
-Gotham Knights - same live service problem as Anthem, but now also having to fill enormous shoes Arkham franchise left behind. GK never stood a chance
-No Man's Sky - kudos to the devs for bringing it back from the dead, but for a studio with no prior experience in making games of this scale, they promised an awful lot more than they could realistically achieve by initial release. It's weird to me how so many people got fooled by the marketing, but I guess I should thank those idiots for giving Hello Games money to continue developing NMS into excellent game it is today

The funny thing about what's being said about Rise of Robots, that all you need to do is low kick, is, it has been proven scientifically accurate.
Just watch any episode of Battle Bots, with buzz saws, hammers, grinders, what-have-you, and if you see a robot in the shape of a little, squat rectangle, with a door-wedge on either side of it... basically just a squat trapezoid, you know right from the start that thing has a nine-out-of-ten chance of winning because it goes in low.

To the credit of Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, the actor playing Quan-Chi looks and sounds fantastic and spot-on.

By the way there was a second Mortal Kombat action-adventure game starring Jax called Special Forces that released in 2000. I never played it but I imagine it was just as good.
I'm actually kinda surprised that the Saint's Row reboot was not on this list. The opening mission was not bad but thus far I have yet to go back to the game as the hipster/Gen Z vibe was just too overwhelming.

I remember when it came out and my parents drove me to Circuit City to buy it. We got there and they didn't have it. My dad was pissed off at them for promoting that they had it and didn't. Bait and switch and all that. Turns out, CC was unknowingly doing us a favor.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies. The worst part was, they had to add some general progression mechanics to the game, so you know what you couldn't do right away as Sub Zero? Ice Attacks! You had to "earn" them.

The original XIII is one of my all-time favorites. Great story, visuals, action. And the multi-player part was solid, too. What a shame the remake was such a disaster.

I don't think Redfall's intro is that bad, it's a stylistic choice sure but it didn't bother me. When I saw it was a "4 player co-op that can be played as a single player". The alarms went off (turned out it was neither)

So first off, once again RedFall was NOT made by Arcane Studios, it was made by Arcane Austin, a brand new, untested studio owned by Arcane.
Everyone is disappointed by it due it it's pedigree, but none talk about the fact it was the studio's first AAA Game, and not made by the studio that made the other games by Arcane.
Second, and I hate to say this. I unironically enjoyed both Shadow and RedFall.
Neither are good games, but have fun moments in how bad and broken they are, which raises them up in my opinion and even makes them fun.
Shadow's multiple path game play was an amazing idea, though unlocking the true ending was a major pain. Also, I really enjoyed the boss fights in RedFall.
No (Super) Hydlide, no Ride to Hell: Retribution, no Two Worlds? Fo' shame! This premise could become its own series.
