To be fair, by that point Blazko has walked off being shot, stabbed in the chest, and multi-story falls multiple times. Im sure getting decapitated was just a minor inconvenience by that point.
Da'at Yichud tech is basically like Atlantean or alien tech, in that it's functionally magick broken down to terms science can explain. The idea of keeping a brain and a decapitated head alive in a jar is not terribly far fetched, since the brain only really needs oxygenated blood to continue functioning, and the Nazi Supersoldier body they fused him to was based off Da'at Yichud tech. Essentially, nothing is impossible in that universe.
If you watch closely as he falls, Squall is hit in the right shoulder, not through the chest. I'm also not sure if it's established how much time passes between that cutscene and then the next disc's beginning. It's been a manufactured controversy from the get go.
True, but that is odd to say the least. Magic not withstanding, but having a giant spike impaled into your shoulder should have some last affects. Not to mention Squall just tried to assassinate the most powerful person in the world. Why on earth would they heal him? Information?!? They have two know conspirators right there in Rinoa and Irvine. Especially how they wrote off the wound with only one line of dialogue. Now this isn’t to say the writers didn’t intend for Squall to survive (yes I’m of the Squall is dead crowd), but that’s some thick plot armor to keep Squall alive
@@Omishboy In the context of what types of wounds can be healed throughout the game, no, it's not that big of a deal. Real life, yes it would be major trauma and if survived, major rehab.
@@Omishboy, Ice Spike is Edea's Limit Breal. Edea's! Not Ultemicia's! Edea had wrestled the control from Ultimecia for a short while, since the whole reason she surrendered control of her body to the U in the first place, was the threat of Ultimecia killing her children. At the end of disc 1, Edea and Ultimecia are at an impasse with each other. Edea's children placed themselves in Ultimecia's path, so if Ultimecia is going to kill them anyway, why help her? So Edea and Ulti comes to a sort of agreement, instead of Ultimecia, Edea finishes the fight with her limit break, heals the Squall, and then ships everyone to the prison, with Galbadians (Rinoa and Irvine) being released to their handlers - general Caraway and Galbadia Headmaster Martin, as those promise their loyalty to Ultimecia.
Damn right, and I've been pointing this out for years to anyone who tries to come at FFVIII for this. Aside from the shock and cold damage to his body, which could be easily remedied with magick, which Edea has in spades, the shoulder, especially where he got hit in the meat of it, is easily above and away a very survivable place to get impaled. There's no vital arteries, organs, or anything really in that area to get terribly damaged by such a move, and in a world where magick exists in abundance, it is child's play for him to have survived.
How is Kai Leng not on this list? No matter how much you attack him and drain all his health he's always perfectly fine when the cutscene after the fight starts and your characters all suddenly forget they can keep attacking him.

Squall's plot armor would've just resulted in him going the rest of the game without the use of his right arm if the plot was a bit more realistic about it. Gotta say that FFVIII one is just made up by the people who didn't like the tone of the game, junction, system, etc. It was always pretty clear to me watching that cut scene that it was the shoulder, not the chest, therefore totally survivable. You swap discs at that point and are never told the time lapse, but everyone wants to act like it was 3 minutes. What about Plot Anti-Armour (Plot Squishiness?). Characters that die in spite of canonically being too tough to die in such a way? I'm thinking specifically of Roland in BL2. Handsome Jack takes him down with one shot from a pistol. Yes, the badass that faced off against the Destroyer in BL1 is killed by a psychopathic human in a management position, using a single bullet fired from an unimpressive looking gun. The games also have New U regeneration stations that will bring its users back to life using cloning technology (perhaps the original main characters got ejected from that system, but I don't know if that's actually canon or not, it is at least implied that must be the case). Too many characters in games die because the plot demands it, when it doesn't really make much sense from an in-universe point of view.

There is something I've been wondering, given Kojima's sense of humor. There is a scene in MGS4 where Ocelot kisses Snake, supposedly mockingly. What I'm wondering is, was Ocelot in love with Snake? The reason I'm wondering is the robotic arm, housing Liquid Snake's consciousness that is attached to Ocelot. It seems to me this is satire of Bionic Commando, where the arm is powered by his dead wife, because the bionics will only work with two people who have a deep emotional connection with each other, such as lovers.
ADA is actually mentioned in resident evil one terminal password is the name of the researchers girlfriend . ADA . In the original resi 2 ada mentions shes searching for her boyfriend . And yes she was just using the guy to get access .
For GTA V, I don't even consider it real plot armor (in the game's universe). All of the protagonists can "die" in the game & be resurrected at the nearest hospital for a very reasonable (by US healthcare standards) fee, after only a couple hours have lapsed. It's a critical part of the game mechanic. So Amanda (& the other companion characters) just have access to the same healthcare standards. The real difference is when they actually die from less severe wounds than the player shrugs off throughout the game.
You can plainly see in the FF8 cutscene that Squall took the hit in the shoulder, nowhere near any vital organs so I don't know where everyone always gets this theory that he must be dead. Him being alright later? Big deal. Like the man said, this is a franchise where people battle literal gods and only get knocked out.
Ada was posing as an FBI agent in the RE2 Remake. But her searching for her boyfriend John, a boyfriend she didn’t have, happened in the original Resident Evil 2.
It was actually explained in RE8 that Ethan got injected with the Mold at some point in RE7 but was then given an anti-virus which somewhat worked meaning while yes Ethan didn't mutate into a monster he did get a impressive healing factor. Heck "Massive Spoiler Alert for RE8" the only reason why Ethan dies during the last portion of the game's midway point is because it's discovered that Ethan's healing factor has been pushed to the point where it's actually burned out meaning one more fatal wound and he dies, hence why Ethan dies when he sacrifices himself to help give Chris an edge against the revealed true antagonist Mother Miranda.
I usually click away when I hear a game being beaten to death in these lists. This time, right off the bat, we got gta v right off the bat. Gotta listen to wcg talk about it for the 100th time -.-
It could be because of viewers in Germany, where it’s illegal to depict *anything* associated with the Nazis. It’s easier to blur it on the original video than make a different video just for Germans.
No. I never do this, but I'm gonna comment without watching the video because of the thumbnail. They sewed his head onto a new body so he could keep killing Nazi facist bastards. That is the BEST use of plot armor. Not to mention how gruesome and shocking the decapitation is, and how unexpected the whole shebang is if you don't know it's coming.
I would have to put Gordon from My Friendly Neighborhood on the list. The man survives, without any negative consequences, a fall from a building at least a dozen stories plus a TV antenna in height, into a single layer of full trash bags in the sub-basement of the same building.

tbh there was a famous theory back in the day that claimed that Squall actually did die at the end of disc 2 and all the rest of the game was just an end-of-life allucination I mean, just face it for the ones who remember the game, until end of disc 1 the game was pretty straightforward, yeah fantasy with magic and guardian forces, but from Disc 2 we have witches, reincarnation, time travel, space travel, the fucking Balamb Garder flying to avoid being nuked by missiles and then engaging a sky battle with another flying building... the list continues, the game from disc two pushed the bullshit factor up to 11 Developers always denied this, but still there was many evidences that it could have been at least hinted
I would be more inclined to believe square if the cinematic had Squall actually stabbed in his shoulder and not where his ribcage should be. Granted, people have survived being impaled like this, but Squall should not have 2 functioning lungs.
Death or survival never made any sense in FF games. You die with 50+ Potions, Pheonixdowns etc and at least 3 more Characters that can cast resurrection of some kind or you survive geting nuked, drowned then burried alive and all that gives you a 2 minute limping phase ingame... ^^ So for Squal, someone just casted arc Angel on him? Or he had Ice selected as Spell for elemental resistance?(FF8 was the one, where you could get almost 200% Elemental resistance for all elements so who knows)
Why does Ada Wong have the worst plot armor in Resident Evil Jules? Were you EXPECTING her to die? When Ada Wong is a very popular character in the Resident Evil series, she is NOT going to die!
@krvgames9258 Ada is only popular among fan artists, nobody will say they actually enjoy playing as her with a straight face. She’s objectively the worst girl in the series. I’d take even Ashely over her.

How are there no examples from The Last of US 2? The plot armor is so thick for Abby and Ellie in that game. I'm surprised they can stand up and walk around with how heavy it must be.
You could almost make an entire list from that game alone.
You thought I would die by killing me? Ha, nice try. Dying isn't enough to kill me!
Blurring what was so obviously a severed head saved my mental health.

Never liked the Squall is dead theory.. Didnt make sense to me, you can see as he's falling back the shard is to the side.. Looked like rib cage to me but glad Square cleared it up with "shoulder" .. We can revive anyone else and basically kill gods.. But Squall dies from a shard?.. Never liked that bs theory
Liquid Snake flew a Helicopter ? I can only remember the Jet fight....or was it a chopper ?
Top games where there is an in game lore reason as to why you come back after dying. Example: Talion from Shadow of Mordor/War
Doesn't Hades have something like that too?

I can totally see most of the NPCs in GTA games surviving their deaths by waking up in the hospital like you do even you die.
Could you imagine if they went with the squalls dead theory would of been very dark and cool
Doom Slayer has the best plot armor since he's already in Hell
So what are the demons gonna do? Kill him so Doomguy wakes up in Hell? That doesn't really solve their problem

Seed? See-D? I mean, the school is known as a Garden so seed makes sense, but then it's written "SeeD"
IF you see his D, its not the game I played. But I liked the Idea with Garden as base, SeeDs as troops and the high class group are the white SeeDs.
But... Some People belive that the D is capitalized bacause of you(Squal) time traveling. You are one of the Seeds, but also gave Edea/mother etc the IDEA. You Planeted the Seed. You are the end and beginning of that Story.
5. he's probably did have super human ability.
3. capcom probably did this to use her later on the series.
2. well... he is dead, but somehow still alive via machines.
1. well, it's a "final" fantasy game - so the main progantist doesn't die easily.
The BJ one was a bit of a joke tbf, it didnt rly need to happen but got that shock factor across, even if instantly reversed, but its Wolfenstein so just go with it lol
So, so much plot armor in FF 14
ADA is actually mentioned in resident evil one terminal password is the name of the researchers girlfriend . ADA . In the original resi 2 ada mentions shes searching for her boyfriend . And yes she was just using the guy to get access .
Ada sucks, Jill and Claire are way better. Loving her is like self-flagellation.
@li-limandragon9287 I mean it's not but thanks gatekeeper
ok after watching the last one that ice shard was clearly in his right shoulder
Any "They're dead/dying and what we see is all a product of their dying mind" theory automatically sucks.
But what about the new balance data slate ? Grey Knights are looking tasty as ever
Ada didn't pose as an fbi agent in resident evil 2, she was looking for her boyfriend john
Nah she was looking for the T-Virus the cow, she doesn’t care about John. I’m with Chris on this, she needs to die.
Ada was posing as an FBI agent in the RE2 Remake. But her searching for her boyfriend John, a boyfriend she didn’t have, happened in the original Resident Evil 2.

Ethan from RE7 and RE8?
Hand gets sawed off
Heart gets ripped out
It's crazy it's like he isn't even human anymore.
It just makes zero sense how he managed to survive the game.

Gotta listen to wcg talk about it for the 100th time -.-
TH-cam’s policies are out of control.. you have to blur swasticas in game footage now? Good lord.

I don't know what he is talking about. I have been decapitated 4 times.

tbh there was a famous theory back in the day that claimed that Squall actually did die at the end of disc 2 and all the rest of the game was just an end-of-life allucination
I mean, just face it for the ones who remember the game, until end of disc 1 the game was pretty straightforward, yeah fantasy with magic and guardian forces, but from Disc 2 we have witches, reincarnation, time travel, space travel, the fucking Balamb Garder flying to avoid being nuked by missiles and then engaging a sky battle with another flying building... the list continues, the game from disc two pushed the bullshit factor up to 11
Developers always denied this, but still there was many evidences that it could have been at least hinted
So for Squal, someone just casted arc Angel on him? Or he had Ice selected as Spell for elemental resistance?(FF8 was the one, where you could get almost 200% Elemental resistance for all elements so who knows)
Why does Ada Wong have the worst plot armor in Resident Evil Jules? Were you EXPECTING her to die? When Ada Wong is a very popular character in the Resident Evil series, she is NOT going to die!
Well... the writers could make an effort to put her into situations where it is more plausible to survive haha
@krvgames9258
Ada is only popular among fan artists, nobody will say they actually enjoy playing as her with a straight face. She’s objectively the worst girl in the series. I’d take even Ashely over her.
