- Just Cause 4 came out 3 years ago, and now has it improved since I first bought it when it came out. I hope it did. This video summarizes Just Cause 4 and how people don't like the game. The total production budget of just cause 4 was just under 3 million dollars, so having a look at the budget, they did pretty well

Fax I remember I first had it, was like eh but every year sense realese it starting growing on me more and more and today it's what I be playing almost all the time me and my brother always be talking about what if rico was an avenger character 💀💀 like on god dude is a male version of a black widow if you really think about it I use to think the infinity parashoot was weird until you really think about it marvel could definitely pull that off a self regenerating parashoot and the boost on the wing suit and especially the hover bored and the new stuff the games been adding just makes the game feel like it can never get old you know?

I can't tell 😒)and to be honest, after a great deal of time playing 4 titles where conversations are done by chatting up a severe beating in your own personal Smith(s) v Neo Backstreet Baller's Brawl rather than with something so joyless and impersonal as a chemically-propelled slug of heavy metal - and as downright cathartic as all those lively debates with many gentlemen who politely disagree to Marquis of Queensbury 👎 some of them had guns, amazing leverage power, the gun..

Man this is one of the funnest games in history, the whole just cause series. Its about random chaos and the ways you pull it off. Its not “the last of us”.

the graphics were what they should have been

and i do prefer 3
they dumbed down a lot of the destruction. it's weird I thought the sandbox would allow for more. but they even got rid of destroying bridges. that was my favourite part of just cause 3

It was a good and the game still looks good for a 2006 game (i played on xbox one x)
the dubling was okay
we already has a real sensation of chao in this first game
the only things that sucks is the grapple gun system it was horrible to control
and the save system
for the main storyline it's okay but for the side quests it's different

@@alanmathias6706 Referring to your first comment, the giant cargo plane is still in the game. Idk how you missed it, it’s unlocked like any other military vehicle. The rebel pilots use it to help you fast travel and drop you weapons and vehicles, and enemies use it to drop paratroopers.
I gave JC4 another shot... after a few hours i ended up installing JC2+3 and playing those again!
Good decision, JC 4 is the worst game on the franchise.

The fact you cant take miniguns off inplacements was a massive red flag.
This should have left the gameplay from 3 and mixed in the new elements like different types of tethers guns vehicles and the wether elements I haven’t even made it to the first mission and it’s honestly is the only game I have ever considered getting rid of I have played it once and hated it when I did it has currently been sitting on the self for a year and a half now
It's not even worth cleaning the dust off the game. Leave it on the shelf, go back and play 3 again. Much more enjoyable experience.
The hate from the game comes from lack of development. Lots of people online agree that it is too much like jc3, and some key features have been taken from the game.They should have taken more time with the development. It was obviously thrown together and it shows. This should have taken 4 or 5 years to development the game. The story was chopped but I find it decent. I do enjoy the game tons. The map is massive,just wondering around and exploring the open world is fantastic. The Graphics are good. In my opinion it's one of the better open world games you can buy. I play this more than gta 5

Just Cause 4 was the first one i played and the destruction and vehicle's are fun... but after watching Just Cause 3 on Martincinopants it felt like i missed alot. Ricos introduction and influence that had inspired the Army of Chaos seemed very funny and made no sense
Yeah no just cause 2 and 3 are waaay better. This one seems like you are running logistics for a boring rebel power. I'm not against getting the rebels more involved but the fundamental point this game missed is Rico is supposed to be the chaos not the Rebels.
I just got the complete edition on sale for $13. I think that might be worth it.

I liked JC4 but the grappling hook became overly complicated. It's not so much now that I have figured it out but it did cause a lot of "new game stress" initially.
I would have gladly accepted a copy of JC3 but with a new story and characters and new environment. Could have kept everything else the same and I would have bought it. 😎

Anyone know how to disable the stupid leaderboard thing in this game? It's pretty annoying because it causes the game to stutter every time it pops up on the side.
That leaderboard is so annoying. I think the only way to fix it is to turn of the square enix link thing, but then it still shows the challenge popups.
I remember in 3 when my pal and i found the huge dumbtruck style excavation vehicle we both had fun just trying to steal one and get it back to our garage without destroying it to try and be able to call them in whenever.
What went wrong was that they released Just Cause 4 two months after RD2 came out
I feel like it was a lot more than RD2 coming out, but that definitely didn't help their case.

The game is like gmod, why do you play gmod? Yeah there's a nice amount of base hl2 content but that's boring. I rate sandbox games by how fun they're sandbox is. And I love the just cause 4 sandbox. (This was my first JC game and I didn't know about the disaster of a launch)

Yeah, it seems like they just wanted to capitalize on the success of Just Cause 3. Because it feels like the same game with stripped-down features due to a shortened development time.

I think you’re missing the point. I just have fun playing with the physics. Maybe the series is not for you. Everyone knows the missions are stupid and for the most part, no one cares. It’s what happens when I connect this to that and inflate or thruster this into that. Use your imagination already man!!!

i have played a couple hours of JC4 and it kinda hurts to play it. The map is confusing, the missions are tedious and boring. The enemy ai seem to swarm you in a second, swing the camera there is 8 tanks behind you.poof! I beat JC3 and have more fun finishing up the leftover areas. Just say, here is the area and things to blow up. 100%. Good move to the next settlement, raise the flag. Nobody plays JC for story. The weather effects are neat but that is it. Avalanche did a better job with Mad Max weather effects IMO.

The only thing that I liked about JC4 was the vehicles. Thats pretty much what got me to play this game back in december 2018.
Your video is great and hilarious. I'm a big fan of Just Cause 2 but didn't played the 3. So I tried the 4 on Game Pass and I share most of your criticism. But I had great fun during the 10 first hours because the map is just gorgeous and the balloons give new kind of fun. I also liked how the rebels and villains fight each other at the borders of zones. Then I completely lost my mind after the 12 hours, the side-missions are utterly boring and liberating every new base was a generic pain in the ass (these braindead hackers). The story and writing are horrendous and weather elements totally useless.

My dad bought it but I accidentally put my fingers on the cd and it has finger prints and i did it just again today
Still love it, especially when you mod it. The hovercrafts, or rather huevocrafts, cause they look like huevos, are by far the most fun vehicles in any just cause game. But without a reshade, I thought the game looks kinda meh, so I would throw one on. I think it's a really good sandbox game, I love the industrial vehicles, and it's basically set in Colombia, so that's a plus too.
The conspiracy theorist character dude touched upon the reptilians as being the culprits behind the tornado, but the notion was dismissed as wacky by Rico. IMO the devs should have featured reptilians as being the true power behind the Black Hand. I think they’d have really fitted in to JC’s zany universe. In fact, they’d have been even better in JC3.
I was about to buy jc4 and you saved me. Thank you; the 6 hours was not wasted!

I liked JC4 better than 3.
Don't get me wrong, 3 had some fun elements. But it was, in my opinion, tedious, repetitious and extremely dull. At first, I liked the idea of going to towns, blowing shit up and raising a flag to call it a day. But soon the boring mindset of having to go do all that over and over and over and and over set in and it became a chore. How many hours I spent putzing around looking for billboards because they were fuckin hidden in plain damn sight pissed me off. I hated the beacon mechanic that I couldn't call in a supply or fast travel unless I had a beacon. Military bases: go here, blow stuff up, the end.
4 had the enjoyable element of "Go here, do a mission, the end." Which was also tedious but it wasn't as mind numbing as just aimlessly destroying everything like a common terrorist. At least, the very least, the missions had a sense of story to it that made the reason more plausible. I hated the story. It was mediocre at best and have no shame in skipping the dialog Just to move foward. The Garland missions were fun and I enjoyed having to scour the map for a vehicle just to zip it through a ring. Especially when some of them were challenging and required some thought on "how the fuck do I get this limo all the way up there....". The grapple system took me getting used to but in the end, i found it and improvement over the old one. I find it offered me more freedom to piss around then "grapple enemy A to wall B and zip him over." When I could grapple enemy A with a ballon, send him up and kick him non stop as he zipped away. Or grapple enemy A to vehicle B attached to a booster and watch him get drug along. You get the point.
It took me a long time to get here, initially I hated 4 because it wasn't as good as 3 but I found more elements in it in my second play through that made it more enjoyable. Especially the lack of beacons. Fuck. Those. Beacons.
Finally! These people are complaining about the stupidest things.
I always skip cutscenes .. they should probably not spend a lot of time on intros and cutscenes .

This was a great review man. I remember coming off of playing Just Cause 2 on my PS3, bottling up JC3 and thinking it was pretty meh compared to 2 but Jesus this game looks even worse.

If you already own the gamepass, I say download it. I mean it doesn't hurt to play it. The game is alright. It's just nothing like Just Cause 3, which is my major gripe with it. But if Just Cause 3 is on there. I would download that before Just Cause 4.

Just Cause 3 is hard to beat for mindless fun. I love it. I'm having a hard time playing through Just Cause 4 for the first time because I keep wanting to go back to Just Cause 3 and just wallow in it.
I mean... Game is fine to me I like everything except the transmission missions, Gerald and Javi. I finished the game 6 times and I have 302 hours. So yeah it's good to me. LoL

I don't know about any of the issues of 3 on the Xbox. Do you happen to know what they are??? And 4 wasn't a terrible game. It just isn't anything like 3 which is where I base most of the comparison to.

Mostly the loss of framerate and freezes, even years after it's release.
So nothing to do with the game itself but rather the dev team fucking up.
Played on PC (low end pc and powerful pc) without ANY problem.
Don't worry about the Just Cause 4 thing 🤣.
Worst part is that most complaints are completely legitimate 👍👍👍.
I think the main issue is, while JC3 is a complete product, JC4 sometimes feels like a testing ground and it's noticeable by one thing...
THE WATER ...
Apparently it was the first they've worked with this graphic engine and adding waves was making the entire map go underwater etc...
The storms not being random, the thunder not being random either.
The only two natural events that were randomized were the sandstorm and the blizzards.
LOVE the Game, but they clearly didn't had the time needed to finish everything.
And I played it years after the launch of the game with every DLC contents and all updates.
But still noticed things that were off.
What I prefered were generally the map, the game play, the radios, weapons and vehicles.
What I didn't like was, the destruction system.
Like missions in military bases were cool to me, I loved the respawn of previously destroyed structures.
But, it lacks identity.
Imagine if like JC3 you also have to destroys bases but... Sometimes enemies would try to take them back and you have to go fight them to avoid it.
Of course, they can win and take it back.
You had to this idea a good reward system and boom, infinite replayability instead of restarting completely the game.
Trapping enemies during pursuit with a storm or thunderstorm etc...
Pure chaos, making the player see what the project Hiappa can do and make him understand why he must destroy it.
Not the "my daddy scientist loved science and weather" bullsh*t.
That the kind of stuff they should thought about.
So I hope they mixed things up with JC3 and JC4 to make a proper sequel this time.

Just cause 2 was the best man I miss that game.
It's a little funky now to get running, but just cause 3 does scratch the itch just enough.
Why would you go from the smooth and awesome movement and animations of JC3 to the clunky and embarrassing movements of JC4? Remember when you got vehicles and items by performing fun races or kill frenzies? Nope. Now you're going to have to perform annoying hassles like floating cars by balloons into loops high up or driving specific cars into odd places. Finding bases and destroying them to liberate areas? Nope. Now you just have a general chaos meter so most of the island is pretty much avoidable and unnecessary. Why the hell on Earth did this happen? What were they thinking. And now JC fans have to suffer without a jc5 because the development team decided to give us a steaming pile of crap. Who the hell thought these changes were good. Anyone claiming that jc4 is better than three must be either ideologically motivated, shilling, or just incompetent. So much evil performed in the name of "accessibility". All of these newer games that are more focused on online games as service are just dumbed down versions of the original that ignore real fans in a futile attempt to gain new people and sell stupid useless crap on their online store. People really need to stop purchasing from these online stores so the scourge of games as service will die as it deserves to. Same thing happened with assassin's Creed origins.

Holy crap i got jc4 for free (ps plus backlog) but holy fuck side missions are tedious as hell compared to the previous games everything is just so tedious to do, escort,protect and defend is literally the mission for this disaster of the game and the side activies like you mentioned that are fun were removed and were replaced boring ass activites yeah put cars cars on weird places, yeah put my dickhole in this place, use wingsuit to pass through these bullshit rings and the controls are clunky as fk like superman 64 fk thid game

i agree JC3 is better then 4 but if you ignore the story then the games pretty average the gameplay just seems to be a tad improved and the tornado alone and the extra teathers gave me enough enjoyment to justify getting it....then again im easy to please. also assassins creed origns was horrible but odyssey was fantastic
I played hundreds of hours in JC2 and 3, and I agree, the 4 is really bad compared to them. The base game itself is fine and there are some cool new mechanics, but the missions are not great as you said and they took out the best thing which is destroying the bases via the chaos objects. There are still there but its kinda pointless to blow them and they even fuckin respawn after time, like wtf?? Whats the point of even destroying them, who thought is was good? And also these new mini challenges sucks as well. JC3 had insanely good races and variety, but in 4 oh my lord.. just go through rings 250 times hell nah. And after you somehow complete the missions there is nothing else to do pretty much. There are tons of huge bases with so many obejcts, what you cant even liberate with the new system which is a huge L in every way, if only they have kept it it would be 5x better

I only started recently and Jesus Christ this is the most unbalanced mess I have ever played. Enemy weapons are MASSIVELY OP. Just to give an example: I hijacked a Tank, guy fires one shot from RPG I'm dead immediately. Continue playing, I hijacked another Tank: one shot from Cannon again I'm dead immediately. Then there's the whole mission structure, I hate it just like you. Oh don't get me started on the broken heat system because it's almost as if the enemies know where I am at all time.

Couldn't agree more I loved 2 and 3 so much played 3 thro a few times, but hated 4 so much I just stopped playing it just a few hrs in tried again same thing happened after about 1 hr just gave up it had totally lost everything that made the others so enjoyable and fun , if there was going to be a 5 I would have waited until I could get it second hand for next to nothing and maybe not even then but they have killed it off anyways what a sad end....

I really liked JC2, I really really liked JC3 and bought JC4 the day it released... downloaded it, played 15 minutes and got refund. What a shit show it was at a release date. I still think that JC3 is better and looks better (not everything but as a whole).

If you do want an enjoyable experience just cause 3 is still amazing.
You should still get it. It’s really cheap nowadays. It sucks that so many people hate it 😢 Personally its one of the best games of all time

Yeah. Everyone compares it to just cause 3. As someone who started with 4 its an amazing game I think they’re just getting burnt out.
the hate for this game makes no sense. 3 is boring repetitive slog where you do the same liberation the entire game. In 2 blowing up bases was optional. The main problem with 3-4 is the terrible a.i and easy difficulty and boring story missions.
in danger rising dlc they brought back destruction from JC3... but they just copied the list, didnt change it. and sorround you with 10000 wannabe ricos.
just cause 3 is way better, even though i got bored of it. i have given up on the Just Cause series..
The release was awful. I still prefer Just Cause 2.
Don't buy it epic, it has lot of bugs the, yes there are way to reduce crashes but they still happen, I don't know if it's the same on steam, in my opinion it's a good game destroyed by the bugs.
4 looks so bland and boring and colorless. Everything 3 was not. I got it recently with a 3 other games and it all cost me 17 bucks for this summer steam sale. 4 games. Including Just Casue 3 for 17 bucks. It’s a steal. Just Cause 3 is so fun. And beautiful. And it’s the best. Also Rico reminds me of Ezio from the Assassin’s Creed series. But not Italian. He just has that vibe. Anyway. When I’m depressed I play Just Cause 3. It knows what it is. And how to do what it does best. And I love it for it. Best 3 dollars I spent.
