Hunting horn and hunting horn, assuming the buffs remain after swapping out for a new song list. Otherwise, status SnS followed by other status/raw/elemental SnS. That way I can switch ailments to avoid excessive resistance build up. I don't imagine having weapons in two classes will make a lot of sense in most situations (besides potentially hunting horn). It's not as though we'll be swapping builds so unless we can fit 5 pages of armour skills, I doubt it's realistic to run Bow + Gun Lance for instance. The armour skill tax would be outrageous.
food for thought for anyone who is thinking of picking up the Charge blade but is intimidated by the stigma around it that its the most complicated weapon ever. as someone who has done multiple playthroughs of varius monster hunter games with the charge blade. it is a weapon that is difficult to LEARN but once you have worked it out. its actually very easy to use, with a large list of weapons that are harder to use in practice than the charge blade. the complexity is all in just learning how to actually do it. so dont be discouraged
I remember thinking I had to main a weapon the first time ever playing these games. Man was I so wrong. You’re missing out entirely on completely new and amazing movesets whenever you don’t try other classes. My first ever was insect glaive, next bow, finally my longsword. Insect glaive made you feel like nothing could ever touch you especially when zipping through the air. Long sword makes you feel like you’re dancing with the monsters at times with how powerful and defensive it can be to play as. Bow is just one of the funnest classes. Of course the bow isn’t for everyone. Just wanted to give my perspective in this and say try everything that interests you even In the slightest. You might end up loving it.
What combinations will you guys use? I think using a combination of two different types of weapon play styles is definitely the best for me. Such as using a simple weapon that doesn’t need to charge or build up to anything like greatsword or hammer in addition to something that does like charge blade or switch axe will be my favourite combinations. I’ve never been a big ranged player but since I can bring two weapons now I don’t have to miss out on my favourite weapon, I can dip my toes into the pool that is ranged weapons but still swap back to my sweet charge blade whenever I want.
Hm... Well I have a few ideas heh. So first of all, I did want to use the weapons I fell in love with in World. The Bugstick, and the Charge Blade as a combo. But Wilds version of the weapon might not actually be something I want to play. So instead of Bugstick to yeet myself at monsters I'll supplement my gameplay with Bow instead! Plus as a ffxiv player I'd be able to intuit how it's new gauge works. The trick is to use bow without overcapping. So I can overpower monsters with the new limit break cb axe, and the trickshot bow. Another combo I really want to try is to boogey in style switching between Switch Axe and Hunting Horn which I feel can both be played extremely rhythmically. It's all about keeping up the tempo and notes plus having similar offset/counter mechanics might be fun to switch up weather I want to boogeybonk or boogeyslash! Aside from that. The third combo I want to try is New Gunlance and Sword and Shield. A heavy technical weapon, paired with a lighter all rounder! With the idea of shedding the weights if I want speed, or packing it for power! One moment in the monster's face with a Double Wyvernfire Blast. The next hopping onto their back with a Sword and Shield Mount attack. XD Those are like. The big three combos I want to try most.
probably gonna be going with insect glaive (assuming the aerial capability hasnt been nerfed as we havent seen much of it) and then charge blade because it seems like a full playthrough will make me good at using it and getting used to those guard points.
I want to learn the rework of the Bow for sure, but “dancing” with the monster using the Lance in World and Iceborne has been efficient to me. Emphasis on efficiency… and fun thanks to the Clutch Claw Counter. (Yes, I’m a Lance main) I’ve been working on a fresh playthrough using just the Lance and I still enjoy the weapon on a fundamental level.
@@L.A.N.S-19 we don't know yet how will the new armor system work in wild, we can already see in the 1st trailer that the character brought a melee and a ranged
With seikret carry capacity and a much bigger focus on ecology its very likely that you will always want a main weapon and alternative tech choice to counter based on situation and opponent. Either a combination of slash/blunt/range. The game will also be balanced around 2 weapon as well
i never got why people found bow difficult it feels so smooth for me. it's my go-to weapon if i have to carry someone. the damage is insane and you don't need to worry about ammo as much as the HBG, just get evade up and you'll never get hit.
I have 3 sets in mind 1 Gunlance + Gunlance with other shelling type 2 Gunlance + SAXE 3 Freah air to my MH weapons based on my style at other games: Dual Blades + I Glaive
I am new to the Monsterhuntercommunity and this would be my first game of the seriers! Your video helped me alot in sorting some importent questions out!! Great and concise video! I gonna try to master the `Duall Blades and `Lance... wish me luck :D
It is my duty as a Hammer main, to try to sway your decision. If your looking at lance, that means your not intimidated by the "business" end of the monster, which makes you perfect to be a Bash bro. Why poke things with a stick, when you can crush them with a well placed bonk! Like spinning around in a circles, why use tiny blades, when you can spin circles, with a giant bonk hammer. Also hammers always look bad ass since, they are the main weapon of the Primary game designer for the Monster hunter franchise. Join the Smash brothers today, feel the crunch!
charge blade is a no-brainer for me, mostly because i'm not yet satisfied on my performance with it in iceborne (me being a slow learner too). even with 1.9k hunts under my belt, it felt like i haven't tapped into its full potential, especially on guard point.. there's still a lot i can improve on.. second reason is i'm just too addicted to this weapon..
Ive played a total of 3 hours in world. Bought it back in 2019 but had other titles to explore. Its collected dust for over half a decade. Upgraded from xbox to pc and getting world and rise in anticipation for wilds. I believe my 1st playthrough will be lance and bow. ❤🎉
Dual bow (dual balde & bow). I love playing glass cannon mages in games. So having 2 fast glass cannon elemental weapons to see all the element effects has always been my hunting jam
Great information for those looking to get into the series. Your assertion that there are "no bad weapons" is a really important one. Although each has strengths and weaknesses as well as good and bad match-ups, they're all remarkably rewarding to play. I do think the the term "Main Weapon" could be replaced with "Starting Weapon" though. Some weapons lose a lot of appeal in the early game due to varying degrees of armour skill tax. Starting out with a weapon that needs myriad armour skills to really unlock the peak gameplay it offers might be a little off-putting (looking at you bow). There's no harm in choosing something that'll be comfy to build around initially with the intention of switching it up later. I believe, in the long run, there are many advantages to playing all weapons in the game at least occasionally. You certainly get you moneys worth that way.
I really wanna know how flexible the system will be in practice, especially considering skills. If we get a similar skill distribution like we did in world could it be possible for some weapons to work well together since they need naturally the same skills but what are you gonna do if you need many gunner skills while you’re also using a melee weapon that needs different skills? I can see this being a problem while also depending on how they approached it. I also think it’s important to have some sort of balancing factor there in general
Exactly my mindset, especially since now you can bring your main and then another weapon, so you can try the others out without missing out on using your favourite weapon.
The thing is that if you want to play all the weapons you'll have so much more grinding to do just to optimize a set and most people don't have the time
@@eletralad That is true, if you have the time though and don’t mind the little grinding I think people should try a few weapons at least. Not all weapons require a specific build to work or work well. However at the end of the day anybody can play however they feel and if that’s putting 500 hours into greatsword then I’m not gonna call you boring I’m gonna call you dedicated.
either double bow. (need to make sure i don't run to camp for every quest to get elemental weakness, just use the 2 main elements of the area) or gunlance/HBG. my 3 main weapons.
I started my mhw journey with the charge blade. I will say that I spent most of my time pissed off. It took me 200 hours to use it decently against monsters. Once you learn it you will be more than satisfied

Calling Longsword the favorite child, after having witnessed that Bow was the obvious fav child is just..... Man, LS isn't the fav child but the scapegoat of hate and spite of MH community.
it's not, I meant that it is beginner *FRIENDLY*. Charge Blade is not beginner friendly, because there are a billion things to manage like phials, shield charge, sword charge, savage axe meter, etc. SnS, GS, hammer, lance, and a couple others don't have a meter or phials or ammos to worry about, making them more beginner *FRIENDLY*. So someone who's never played a MH game before would likely find SnS easier to understand than CB or Switch Axe or IG.
Which 2 weapons will you be playing with in MH Wilds???
Hunting horn and hunting horn, assuming the buffs remain after swapping out for a new song list.
Otherwise, status SnS followed by other status/raw/elemental SnS. That way I can switch ailments to avoid excessive resistance build up.

Insect glaive and hammer
Charge Blade and Great Sword. Will probably switch out the GS for other weapons though.
Definitely Bow/DB's
Probably GS and GL. GS is my favorite weapon and the GL is a close second of mine.
"Which weapon should you use in monster hunter wilds?"
- Yes.
I already go between Switch Axe and Charge Blade regularly every other hunt, so the choice is practically already made.
food for thought for anyone who is thinking of picking up the Charge blade but is intimidated by the stigma around it that its the most complicated weapon ever. as someone who has done multiple playthroughs of varius monster hunter games with the charge blade. it is a weapon that is difficult to LEARN but once you have worked it out. its actually very easy to use, with a large list of weapons that are harder to use in practice than the charge blade. the complexity is all in just learning how to actually do it. so dont be discouraged

cant wait to watch all the guide on wilds from you

All 14 vids out already? If we can use 2 weapons, i might use a melee-ranged heavy-light combo weapons. GS + LBG / LS + HBG.
they are indeed! DBs came out yesterday!
How about the mixed armor set?
I think gunner and blademaster weapons might not work together
idk

love bow, world and rise bows were so good, wilds is looking EVEN better. can't wait to try it out
For me it is because I can't play a shooting weapon without a keyboard and mouse. And I played Rise on the nintendo switch...
I have 3 sets in mind
1 Gunlance + Gunlance with other shelling type
2 Gunlance + SAXE
3 Freah air to my MH weapons based on my style at other games: Dual Blades + I Glaive

I’m primarily going to juggle bowguns as my main but the second slot will be dedicated towards melee weapon experimentation.

yeah, I'll be interested to see if there are monsters with distinct phases that require totally different approaches in each
My plan as of now is to run dual blades and bow. DB is by far my best weapon and bow gives me that range when needed
World: Insect Glaive
Rise: Charge Blade
Wilds: Charge Glaive
chad blade brother 💪
Main: Me bonk monster on head, make monster go night night 💫💫
Secondary: probably a bow or charge blade 😂
I will stick to my main lbg but love to play CB, GS, hammer and LS again
I like them all but I enjoy most Lance, Hammer and LS
Hunting Horn Main w/Heavy Bowgun secondary
All weapons are balanced. But some weapons are just more balanced than others.
My big hope is to get a secret trailer for the weapon from the mmo monster hunter.
Hammer alway for me ❤
i will mastered the way of the Longsword
Hunting horn will be a secondary weapon
im going full merica build. gun lance and heavy bowgun
Weapon that I'm not use will always be lance, gunlance, bow, SnS, and glaive bug 😅
I main heavy bow and charge blade. Both are destructive
I’m gonna do HH + LS or HH + Heavy bow gun
Im a switchaxe main and dual blades are my second. so i already now what im going with.
"The most powerful move in the game which is the true charge slash"
WRONG the strongest move in the game is the kick that the great sword has access to
Main lance , possible secondary is sns with em guard 😅
Charge blade and bow it is!
Swag Axe and lbg for status
Great sword and a second elemental greatsword
think we can just spam sleep bowgun into fully buffed one shot true charge slash greatsword? lol
that would be menacing! even easier GS wakeup hits
Man it suck i don't play on pc or PS only on swicth but if i have to choose 1st/main dual blade and 2nd switch axe/gunlance
I play like 8 weapons so i never get borde
Just fucking play what you like...
how would someone who hasn't played Monster Hunter know what they like?
Why so Serious!
