someone on reddit explained the demon dance/flurry interaction pretty well. here's what they said: - Demon Dance now consumes gauge instead of increasing it. It's split into 3 attacks, Demon Dance I, Demon Dance II and Demon Dance III. Each input consumes gauge. The old Demon Dance is the equivalent of Demon Dance I + Demon Dance II, Demon Dance III is a bonus. - Demon Flurry ("Archdemon Dance") is also split, but this time into 2, Demon Flurry I and Demon Flurry II. You can press a direction to move while attacking. - You can now mix and match Demon Dance and Archdemon Dance, going from one to the other. Staying in the same mode or going from Archdemon to Demon increases the combo count by 1, but going from Demon to Archdemon doesn't. - As such, the longest combo is Demon Dance I - Demon Flurry I - Demon Dance II - Demon Flurry II - Demon Dance III. You can use this to extend the combo or to reposition between Demon Dances.
Big props on this video. As a DB main I was a little underwhelmed by all the footage I saw of DBs, but the new ending to Bladedance, and the addition of Demon Flurry look pretty interesting.
The speed and aerodynamic features of the Rise/Sunbreak dual blades were so good. I have been a Great Sword main since Freedom 2nd, yet there were times when I failed a quest while using my main. That was usually the point when I would turn to my dual blades in a. " that wasn't even my final form" mentality.
that 100 damage at 12:21 is a wound breaking, that's why there is the 100 value. there are several instances of different damage for wound breaks though, so it is most likely dependent on weapon/focus attack? also at around 10:10 we have seen the hunter grappling from both sides of the monster. this may actually be an input to decide what direction you can approach from when using the focus attack. this would make the most sense because we see this from both sides of the monster at different instances. it may also be proximity based, so whatever side (head or ass) you are closest to at the point of the strike.
Has there been any footage showing how it interacts with the "On Fire" mechanic? I believe World chose to keep rolling even in arch demon because it removes much more time from your "On Fire" timer than the dash does. However the slinger dodge behaved like a roll in terms of the timer so I'm willing to bet atleast in archdemon, the "On Fire" timer will decrease the same as when rolling in base mode.
@@Zamoxino That is true as well, I wanna say I'm not against archdemon having the dash, I hope that it does have the dash. I'm just wondering if anyone got to see on fire debuff in any Wilds gameplay and if archdemon dash may have taken longer to get rid of it or not!
I am glad for all this intel on my Main. Personally, I was a big fan of being able to leap whenever I dang well pleased in Rise, but I think I can get used to this new style. Though I hope there's more methods of getting air somehow in like an armor or weapon skill.
Off topic but I think the next Crossover for Wilds should be Aliens vs Predator or just Predator. Imagine a Yautja from Predator came to the Monster Hunter world to hunt new prey and they find our Hunter worthy so we fight it. For a reward we get shards of it's armor to make our own Predator (Human version) Armor with the slinger being the shoulder cannon. Predator would love the Monster Hunter world because of the challenging monsters to fight and the humans being far stronger than average humans and might be the first race the Yautja (Predator) could coexist with.
the levi move i don't think it bugged out, because the monter moved it's tail , so it is only logical for the move to end there after the tail moved away.
Yes! Now I can truly live my dream of being the most annoying pest a monster can imagine. Like imagine you were stung by one bee over and over and you just can’t catch that annoying little bee. I am that bee!!
The falling off the tail thing will most likely be in release from what I've noticed. In World if the angle exceeds a certain amount you end it early and transition into that sick spinning combo to landing. I think Rise has it as well *maybe* but if it does then it has a much higher angle of cutoff. I believe it's in World because uh, Levi move aside, it's a bit much to turn such a wildly sharp angle, atleast in my opinion. None of these things I've said are researched by me, just things I've noticed so if someone else knows actual information on it, feel free to correct me!
While the demon dance changes are exciting, the perfect evading is what has sold me on dual blades this time around. Feels like playing dual blades will actually have a degree of mastery to it that previous iterations never really touched and im all for it.
The dual blades are looking really similar in concept to how the longsword is in wilds. The spirit combo is akin to the demon flurry, including being able to reposition while attacking. It's gonna be fun.
As someone that hovers between Gunlance, Dual Blades and Charge Blade, this wilds game is so appealing to me. It looks like all three are getting notable overhauls in their attack mechanics and I can't wait to find out how much it differs from world and other games.
I started with 4u as a Switch Axe Main until World came out. Then I became a Longsword main for the base game, until they released iceborne, where I became a Hammer main (btw the clutch claw spin attack is imo the best move in the history of vidoe games, I spent 800+ hours just spamming this charged attack into clutch claw spin attack combo 😂). In Rise and Sunbreak I stayed with the Hammer. But before all these games released (except Iceborne which made me hate playing Longsword because of Tenderizing) I had a clear idea of what I should play as my main weapon. I always tried out other weapons, but every time when I first started the game I already knew which weapon I gonna main. But right now I have no idea of what I'm ending up for my main weapon for Wilds. Every weapon looks incredible now and I am so hyped for testing out all of the combos and new attacks. Dual Blades is also a very strong contender after this video :)
Im just glad that they're making Archdemon mode seem worth using. I didnt use it much in World or Rise. If i had stamina i was almost always in Demon mode. They finally added some depth to the DB that I wanted to see hope they're just as strong as they were in Rise
only a select few samurai were allowed to wield 2 swords officially..........i always wanted to say that to DB wielders ......i`ll try these 1 day finally
I love that they are leaning into perfect dodging and blocks and parries probably going to be a charge blade and bow user with bows changes the gauges buildup sets for cb should pair well with it and get dodging and counters with both
If I had to say that I "main" anything it'd be hammer but I use basically everything eventually. DB has always been fun though I'm glad to see it have more mobility freedom as it could always use it to help with the short range. Also love to see that demon dancing isn't as much of an input commitment now i.e. swinging wildly at nothing or beating into a teammate by accident SHOULD happen less often now... right guys?... RIGHT?!?!?
"People think there's less to dual blades than there is" bro there's no way. Those people are either tripping or just button mashing to not understand HOW MUCH there is new to the dual blades.
Dual Blades were always amazing. In MHFU it was just over powered! But back then we had sometimes blades with two different status effects which I LOVED. Sadly they took that feature away mostly...
You do realize you're claiming something is OP before it's even been released right? Like maybe just wait til there's even a playable demo to come up with nonsense theories on what's going to be OP.
Wilds is built on RE Engine like Rise, World was the last Capcom game to use MT Framework which was an engine so old it was originally intended to make games for the PS3 / xbox 360.

I have always ALWAYS thought that dual blades are good, I mean all my fastest hunt times have been with dual blades I've never actually understood why people thought they were bad all they say is "they're bad for (insert reason)"
So the Demon Dodge isn’t exactly a counter? I loved DB in rise because of the Shrouded vault switch skill which made it safer to avoid attacks that should hit me and I couldn’t avoid in time. So in Wilds, I have to perfectly I-frame evade this time? Time to practice evading I guess
it rly looks like dodgebolt from sunbreak when it comes to mechanics. so its probably very small counter with s on top of it that u can extend with evade window skill(evade window wont affect counter frames)
Duel blades are actually OP in wilds, you could alternate between demon mode and regular mode. Demon mode would be red aura, and regular mode would be white auras
duel blades are my main weapon and i do not liek how they look 1 bit in wilds most underwelming weapon in the whole game ! i hate how they have the character hoping and skipping int he basic demon mode attacks and if its like the forced movement combos in rise i can not stress how shit that felt ! i dont care about cutting demon flurry short seems stupid to take away the 1 static move we had lol just doing this to try not lose the duel blades with all othe weapons getting more movement i feel like they ahve hoenstly broken combat in wilds!
excuse me, DBs are like an ant. IG is the fly, thank you lol. Or it was. So this combo costs demon meter and is faster? Hmm if it has less hits it will have less value for damage. DB's not big on motion value and fewer hits. It's niche is a lot of really fast hits for element and status. Unless this is a shorter animation with faster hits that add up to about the same. Hmm so it's not for damage but repositioning in the combo and not losing as much damage while also not being stuck? That's fine then. Same sort of maintenance that lance had in Rise, that I hated, but since DB is a weapon they prefer it lasts way longer. Seriously this is twice as long as that pathetic lance buff you had keep up in Rise and this doesn't seam like it will have any skills, that are core to the weapon, that will nerf it unlike the lance move.
everyone really out here ignoring the fact that HBG CAN USE RAPID FIRE NOW. Do you have any idea how strong HBG was in world and now they gave it rapid fire in Wilds, thats going to be a mistake on Capcoms part

Wonder if demon dance glow that we see means that each time we do the part 2 and part 3 we do more damage.
For us few dual blades mains just know we are the reason alatreon was made simply to challenge our superiority
“Few”?
U know duel blades are like 2nd or 3rd most used weapon...
4th most used weapon 😭

Thanks for covering my favorite weapon, Hollow! Very few MH streamers have passion for Dual Blades like you do
They really made Adept Dual Blades 2, huh?
Hell yeah! Hope Duals are as good as they were in rise!
I just glad that Wilds Arch Demon is more like Rise and not World.
Having a simple roll instead of a evade was painful in World.

My condolences for Cotton, who’s almost certainly had to ship himself to a ratty cabin in the middle of Venezuela in order to avoid spoilers.
I wonder if power prolong will help us maintain our gauge since we’re going to be expending it much more often
If not, I imagine focus will get used a lot more for DB now to keep it topped off
