This was a real experience for him. He went through this as a teenager. He then wrote the entire song in his head while riding on a bus from school to work. He was only 17 years old.. more george. He is know for one of the best voices of all time.

You might want to check out the song he did with Elton John - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. It was a hit for Elton in the early 70's and they did it as a duet in the early 90's.

After George went solo he released this song and it went number one in the UK and ended up being his most successful song.
