It was used at the end of Clint's movie The Mule.
The song was for the movie n the song never got the ratings as should of like he said in January ( last month) now it definitely needs the ratings but u can’t share this to any social medias! @@Rhinexing honestly, not only are we sad because one of the greatest country singers ever just passed away but also because he took our youth with him. A big part of my twenties through to my mid thirties was hanging out having fun and listening to Toby Keith. Not only will I miss him and his music but the history that went with him.
Toby passed on my military retirement weekend. His music got me thru my deployment to iraq. His support to the military is greatly appreciated i will miss this man severly RIP salute brother🫡🥹

For me, this performance from Toby is as close to perfect as it gets. Even in his diminished state, his voice was powerful and filled with emotion. You could see it in his face...he knew his time left was short and he was grateful for the moment. It's everything I love about real country music. Cheers to Toby Keith.

Toby wrote “Don’t Let the Old Man In” in 2018 as a birthday present for Clint Eastwood, who was going to begin shooting his next movie, “The Mule” on his 88th birthday. Clint liked the song so much that he put it in the movie. Watching Toby perform the song in light of his ailment adds another meaning to it, and he sure didn’t let the old man in that night. May God bless him and his family.

“Just ask yourself how old you’d be if you didn’t know the day you were born” I was born in the summer of ‘97. Hearing the news that Toby passed brought back memories and made me recall the feeling that I felt when I was a 6 yr old little girl at home missing her dad who was serving active duty overseas. A lot of days were tough on our family because we couldn’t hold communication with my dad. Postcards here and there were a blessing. One day mom got a call from Dad and he was proud to tell her that Toby Keith was out there giving the troops a performance. Toby, I thank you so much for going out of your way to be a great American. For giving men like my father a reason to make a happy phone call home during the worst of times. But ultimately, for teaching us to be proud and unapologetic patriots of America 🇺🇸 ❤️🤍💙 RIP

I am fighting Bile duct cancer. In treatment since May 2022. Currently I am in remission. The survival rate is 24%. Thank you Toby Keith for all you have done for this Country and the military. And thank you for waking me up from the denial I have been in. May you rest in peace Toby Keith and may your family and friends find comfort knowing that you are free from pain.

Although he was tired and worn from his battle with cancer, his voice was as smooth as butter. My husband and I had the honor to see his very last concert in Las Vegas on December 14, 2023. I’m so grateful and thankful we could go see him. ❤️ He was such a genuine man and very humble. We learned that night him and Clint Eastwood are very good friends. May Toby rest in Paradise.

Clint was his inspiration for writing the song. They met in Palm Springs right before Clint was to turn 88. He asked Clint what he was going to do to celebrate? Clint said he was going to be off making a movie for a few months. Toby was shocked & asked him what keeps him going? Clint's response, "I get up every day & I don't let the old man in". Toby knew he had a song in that line. Then put together the song for Clint's movie, "The Mule". He said it was one of the best times of his life writing this song.

I am from the UK and had never heard of Toby Keith until it came up on my phone about his death! I have found his songs and listened to an interview not long before his death! What a man he was! RIP Toby ❤xx

He said he was not afraid after ending his chemotherapy. He has a strong relationship with the Lord who rode shotgun with him for a while. RIP Toby - you will be missed, but we will have you forever in your music and talent you left us with.

I lost my father February 19th of this year. I still come back to this song. Hoping he could still fight off the old man knocking on the door. It hurts so much. I love you Dad. I know you can't hear this but maybe this will help somebody else

My husband passed in June last year. I played this song for him many times as he grew weaker. I will miss Toby Keith, but I picture him in heaven with many other talented men and women, gathered together and performing in heaven. Rest in peace Toby Keith. You will not be forgotten.

This hits me different today as I watch this again. I have been sick for 6 days and am weak. I can't imagine how weak he was standing there on stage, strumming his guitar, and standing there singing. My emotions are more vulnerable today. He was such a strong man to be able to sing. I'm sure the song has a different meaning for him, than what it was originally written for. :(

Toby passed just hours ago now . Watching this performance just now? The part where he sang u gotta love on ur wife, as she trys to block the tears trying to roll down her face. That was heart wrenching,To watch. May gods breath be to his back. An may his wife have only one set of foot prints in the sand as she walks beside christ because hes carrying her ,to the day of till forever ends when no more tears will b there as they are together again. This life here is nothing more than a gift of a short trail, to a long path called eternity . To anyone taking the time to read this , may gods breath be to ur back as well. I use to ride around in the country and have a beverage listening to Toby. He was a part of my life back in the day. When I heard he passed away this morning the first thing I did was play "I'm cryin for me." His tribute song to his friend Waymon Tisdale that sadly died of cancer also. It brought a tear to this 60 year old man's eye. God Bless you Brother. Your not in pain anymore. See you on the other side. 🙏
My condolences to the family. Very thankful for his kid corral in OKC . We stay there when my Oldest grandson was battling Cancer he pass on in 2020 at the age off 20 years old RIP My friend .🙏🙏
I also listened to that song yesterday morning when my husband woke me up to tell me of his passing. That song helped me in my deepest darkest depression moments after loosing my dad. Toby Keith will forever be a legend.
