@@MusicShed I recommend it, I might prefer it over the original. Having just her and the piano player really helps put a focus on her voice and the emotions she can convey
I saw them the first time when she was 18, opening for Evanescence in 2011. She completely blew me away and I was Googling them as they left the stage. Got to see them again co-headlining with Halestorm in 2022 and she was even more incredible.
The work title for the, yes, 25th Bond movie at the time was "Shatterhand", later changed to "no time to die". So thats where the title of the song and the glass shattering come together.
I'm so so excited for you to try more TPR! This song navigated the years of her life in the entertainment industry and how it almost cost her her life. She's been through so much with the death of Chris Cornell (her hero) while they were on tour together, the death of her bandmate producer, all very close together... then finally slipping into addiction herself after avoiding it so long. She's out and strong now but wow, was it ugly back there. Some songs absolutely worth checking out: going back to the beginning when she was only 16 with "Make Me Wanna Die", to House on a Hill (so good and narrative), Death by Rock n Roll for a strong fun anthem, Nothing Left to Lose for a low key melancholy vibe, and so many more tbh. Happy to be your TPR sensei ;)
Sad side note: the footsteps heard on the album Death By Rock & Roll were Kato's (her producer) previously caught on a hot mic. And the album also features Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden (Only Love Can Save Me Now) and Tom Morello of Audioslave (And So It Went), Chris Cornell's bands.
I liked that you mentioned the blues that lies at the core of this song. If you want to hear The Pretty Reckless rock a straight-up blues tune, listen to "Take Me Down." It's one of my favorites of theirs.
The Pretty Reckless are such a good band and she has such a unique and beautiful voice. I’ve been waiting for so long to see a reaction to them. You should also try Madison Ryann Ward “Mirror “. Another unique voice. Very jazzy and very soulful voice.
Wonderful Song Wonderful Band Wonderful Reaction From Cindy Lou Who to one of my favorite female rockers currently. The other is Dorothy. Check out “Rest in Peace” by Dorothy. Great Song Wonderful Vocals & Lyrics A Cup of Coffee coming your way 👍🏻👍🏻
I LOVEEEE THE PRETTY RECKLESS!! The theme of this song (doesn't matter if it was for the Bond movie ou not) it really fits with the subjects they present in their other songs! I love it!
Interestingly enough, that 4 note background is more iconic as Bond for me than the main melody you played on top of it. Maybe it’s just because I grew up playing bass and drums, so my brain is always bass- and rhythm-forward, but hearing this song, the FIRST thing I thought was “this has to be a Bond song, right?” And then realizing No Time To Die, the newest Bond film that came out right after this song, was the 25th Bond movie, it was so obvious.
Yes, more TPR please. They have many great songs. This song is also a year by year of her life. The only reason it wasn't chosen for the film is because Billy Eillish was so popular at the time. This is a far better song.
Rumor is that this was a CANDIDATE for NO TIME TO DIE, the TWENTY-FIFTH Bond movie. Several Bond references in the song besides the melody. Taylor is a big Beatles fan. She throws little 'Beatles breaks' into a lot of their songs.
Hi This Showed Up On My Page, Am A Big Fan Of Taylor & The Pretty Reckless So Decided To Watch Your Reaction To This Great Song.. First Before Getting into Taylor, Her Voice & The Rest Of The Band. Just Want to Say, Thanks For The Great Reaction To This... And Am Really Happy That You Enjoyed This Song & That You've Now Ventured Into The Pretty Reckless World. Hoping Whether You End Up Reacting To More or Just Taking The Chance & Listening To More Music From This Band On Your Own Time. As I Don't think You'll Be Disappointed.. Taylor's Story Is Pretty Amazing In Itself, And The Beatles Were & Still Are A Heavy Influence For Her.. As Some Of These Song's Were Already Suggested, "Make Me Wanna Die" (Original Music Video) Is A Great Song. As Well "Just Tonight" (Original Music Video) & "Only Love Can Save Now" Featuring Matt & Kim From Sound Garden (Original Music Video) And Here's Some More Song's That You Might Enjoy, Privately & Or Reacting Too... Absolution, House On A Hill, Take Me Down, Light Me Up, Going To Hell, Wild City, Nothing Left To Lose, Witches Burn, Cold Blooded, Miss Nothing... My Bad! Guess I Should Stop.. Am Now Subscribed, ' Cheers From Western Canada
I love the Pretty Reckless, I am a little bias as I know some band members. They just happen to be in the studio currently working on their next album.
Jenny has been through a lot.. You can hear it in her voice. Amazing underrated singer, incredibly creative too. Think she has a to say about the direction of their music videos too. I agree with the rest in the comment section, Make me Wanna die, My medicine and Heaven Knows, you should really check out too.
With you starting the video with Paul's work, I was waiting to see if you would grab the Beatle feel in the bridge. I had confidence you would, but you are also the only one I have heard say it!
Oh man, every time I watch one of your videos I get so jealous of your musical ability and knowledge. Can I buy your brain and put it in my head please? But seriously, well done. I can tell it took a lot of passion and consistent practice to get to where you are.
I saw them live last year im Berlin. To be honest: yes the music works, her voice works, but she was PLAYING a rockstar on stage but she didnt feel like one.
Love The Pretty Reckless! Some others worth checking out would be Make me wanna die, Heaven Knows, and Death by Rock and Roll.
Yeah, her voice is incredible. Listen to her for years beautiful just keeps getting better.
Cindy Lou Who grew up and became an amazing rocker
There is an acoustic version of this with just Taylor and a piano player.
I need to hear that
@@MusicShed I recommend it, I might prefer it over the original. Having just her and the piano player really helps put a focus on her voice and the emotions she can convey
@@mitchlacasse361 Same here, I prefer the accoustic version. both are great tho.

I love The Pretty Reckless. “Make Me Wanna Die” by The Pretty Reckless is one of my all-time favorite songs. You should definitely check it out!

Oh also! You totally clocked that Beatles-inspired bridge (Taylor's fave band ;) )

@@sebrina8057 Yes! So glad you added this :)
Yaaaas! Been begging for this one for a couple years ;)
Been obsessed with this band forever, so glad you clocked the Beatles influence (although even tho I’m new to your channel I gathered you would hahah)
I liked that you mentioned the blues that lies at the core of this song.

I mean, the Bond folks also apparently passed on Radiohead, so sometimes I wonder about them.
I’ve been a fan from the very beginning. First saw them in 2011 & have been on the journey with them since then.

New Age Classic, plus she is beautiful as hell

It would be better if you just listened to the song. We know you can play the piano. You dont need to prove it.
It’d be better if you watched another reactor and don’t watch me. I play a lot of piano. I pause. I talk. I play. It’s what I do.
