I know I'm here really late but still I gotta give some credit back to Borat since people told you people were in on it. Only like 3 people from the entire movie knew what was going to happen. The rest were more or less told they're gonna shoot something but that was it. It went so far that some of the people in the movie sued the director as they were unhappy by how they were portrayed in the movie. Everybody of them lost. So yeah your assumption about the movie being real is kinds valid, with some minor details that werent legit.

Most parts i laughed like crazy and some parts where a bit slow i thought. "Ali G Indahouse" 2002 from Sacha was his first movie i think and is pretty funny too. 😸
