    Hi mate great job, just bought one I’m not great shape.. are they all original plastics? Was it in half decent shape when you started? Thanks mate

    • @moz911
      @moz911  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it was half decent right frame cover was missing and they are hard to find as they melt from the exhaust although after months of looking I found a new old stock still in the original plastic wrapping in I think it was Croatia but yellow in colour, I added the heatshield to it and all good. I am lucky to have a Suzuki dealer 10K's from me in Melbourne who stocks vintage parts.

    I've got this bike and want to restore it is a hard project

    • @moz911
      @moz911  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easy, plenty of parts available, the hardest part to find for me was the right hand frame cover which seem to get melted from the heat of the muffler, I was lucky to find a brand new still in the original plastic wrapping in Croatia of all places. Also there is a Suzuki dealer 10Klm's from me in Melbourne which stocks plenty of old Suzi parts, look him up. Mick Hone Suzuki. Good luck.

    Great job mate. Can I ask you where you got the new decal set? I’ve got one the same and I want to do the same and restore it.
    Mine’s an ‘82 and I’d like to put a disc brake front end on it. What forks are yours off?
    Your bike looks fantastic.
    👍👍👍

    • @moz911
      @moz911  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need to get a front fork set up from a '84+, the wheels decals I had custom made. You can get decals from here: www.ebay.ca/itm/264949330555?hash=item3db035f27b:g:rlEAAOSw1VBfu452

    Nice Job! Where did you get the decals from? I have a 1982 DR250 I am refurbishing.

    • @moz911
      @moz911  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The decals are from a 125, I cut out the 125 number and replaced it with a 250S decal which I found from another supplier, both on Ebay

    Hey mate, I've got an 85 DR I'm getting back on the road.
    The previous owner messed with the wires something shocking to the point I don't even think the harness is from a DR/SP at all.
    Would you be able to direct me to the diagram you've used please?

    • @moz911
      @moz911  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      from memory I think the DR had a few wiring diagrams, which DR do you have?

      The exact same as you're but not looking mint and has a bash bar in front of the engine.

    • @moz911
      @moz911  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rotisseriepancake It might look the same but they had different wiring depending on the country, from memory in my Workshop manual there are about 4 different wiring diagrams. If you want send me an email and I will send you all of them so you can figure it out. blackmagic1@tpg.com.au

    • @rotisseriepancake
      @rotisseriepancake 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@moz911 yeah I've got the manual last night,
      You're right, there's 3-4 diagrams.
      None of them match my bike, which leads me to believe that someone had a harness from a different bike and made it work.
      Half the wires are cut, rerouted and go nowhere and others weren't connected to anything either end.
      I can't find any harness for 82-86 but found a 91 with a bunch of other stuff for cheap so took the risk hoping it'll be just a few pins rearranged and a different plug at most.
      All just to try and avoid doing it all from scratch and having to buy a new CDI, regulator etc.

    • @moz911
      @moz911  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rotisseriepancake Maybe check the colours coming out of the coils and compare them to the diagrams. have you got the extra DR250S workshop manual Supplement, that has a wiring diagram called (DR250S) E22 which is mine. I bought mine from a retired Suzuki Bike mechanic. The supplement has extra info in it like where the wiring harness is run and where wiring clamps are attached and cables run, it also has 7 wiring diagrams. It looks like this. picclick.co.uk/Suzuki-DR250-DR-250-Drs-Supplement-Review-Technical-304260539582.html?refresh=1
