I've discovered Hindi movies 10 years ago, when they showed Dil Chahta Hai on tv here in my country. I fell in love with Bollywood, but truly no other movie can come any close to this, it's perfection in every single way! Love Aamir too, he's the best actor and makes such a cute pair with Preity. Hugs from Romania! :)

I loved Akshaye Khanna's character Siddharth in this film 👌👌💖💖. I even loved him more than Aamir Khan in this film 😘😘😘. Akshaye Khanna overshadowed everybody even Aamir and Saif 💖💖😘😘.
They surely didn't know at that time what they're making will be a masterpiece something which will still be relevant for decades to come and would be still way ahead of it's time.
People started watching Bollywood movies after watching this film. We had a friend who had no interest in Bollywood movies. He watched Hum Apke Hai Kaun and said "so many songs, so much drama, I don't like it" and then he watched this movie. He started watching Hindi movies. This movie is modern. Future Generations will be watching it. Will never get old.

Dear Mr. Akhtar you got it wrong ... what you did in DCH was the feelings that a single person comes across in his life... all three of them... i was akash at one time and sid at another i saw this movie in pune when it released and first time i agree with your take but every guy goes through that that three phases which you had brilliantly chalked out its basically a story of a single mentality going through and evolving but hey thats my thought thanks for making this movie cos even after watching it for i dont dont know how many times it still amazes me cheers
A great movie that truly showed the balance or imbalance of relationships between friends, parents and lovers as we grow and figure out who we are inside. We do this simultaneously in real life. That is probably the appeal. Real to life without being over the top.
This movie started a trend of new styled movies which were different from 90s and was a welcome entry to the new millenium. Also changes the look of the stars comparing with their 90s look with a much more fresh look of 21st century.. Hats of to Farhan Akhtar to create such trendsetting classic..

I would have loved to know and perhaps they should have mentioned the real artist behind those paintings... beautiful they are! One of the ever golden film of our generation. I think I was about 12 or 13 when this movie had released. Wish we could see such brillirant, orginal, witty and strong narration even now!

When i watched DCH, I thouhgt the bollywood will change after this movie. At least I thought the class of humor used in cinema will upgrade from there on. Couldn't be more wrong when i watch the toilet humor crap dished out these days in the name of comedy.
when i saw the film for the first time, i was just 19yrs and i couldn't connect to Sid's character played by Akhshay and thought he was boring and I liked other 2 characters but now after turning 40± i love the character of Akshay. Some film or characters, you should be more matured to relate to. 😊
