This movie is so smartly directed and written and well put out visually .. i don’t understand who would anybody dislike this movie ? Why wasn’t this a big hit ? I watched it this year and i was just surprisingly impressed with the simplicity of the story and effortless acting of all actors . Stories like these among families exist in real life . This is a good movie . Loved it

Probably one of the most misunderstood films ever. Even if it involved rich people, it was highlighting the fact that patriarchy and conservative attitude still exists amongst these so called educated & open minded people. The writing of every character was spot on and so wonderfully realised.
This movie was not relatable at all. I know what you trying to say but it was still too white washed. I felt like i was watching a fantasy movie.
I so agree. But I think not a lot of people in India identify with 'dysfunctional' families or the whole rich ppl have prblms too. I watched it with a bunch of ppl who didn't like it. And my 1st reaction was that too. And then few months later i watched it alone. And I was shocked to find that I really liked it. And maybe even identified with some personality flaws from quite a few characters.

Such an underrated movie, I strongly implore all to revisit this maverick piece of work if you dint it liked it at first. Watta Cast, performance, dialogues and songs.. Brilliant work by Zoya, Reema & the entire crew. I have seen it zillion times, every time the evocative performances makes me feel this is a cult..

The thing is initially only Javed Akhtar had dubbed for Pluto, but then Zoya called her friend... Aamir Khan and was like can you take a look at the final edit of the movie..... he did and obviously loved it and she then simultaneously asked him if he wanted to voice Pluto... and he said yes because he wanted to be a part of this awesome movie..... so maybe that's why.... post production takes literally like 7-8 months...

@@hardy2175 that was a uper kher first movie as he wanted a role any type as he mentioned in one of the show... While I do agree that the female cast had no choice but to act some elder charecter in either silver screen or 📺
What are you talking about? Harshvardhan has probably seen Anil taking birth, Anil could play a young adult in a college romcom and freshers would not even take notice of it

sometimes i get very scared after watching ranveer because he is exceptionally talented and a remarkable human being. i am just fascinated by him and it often happens so that remarkable people like him die young.. as for asushka, i am sorry but watching her playing the character of a dancer was sad. she didn't look or move like a dancer. it was awkward to watch. priyanka was on that stage with her for 10 seconds and she stole that stage right away.

Priyanka is a darn good actress, she is phenomenal when it comes to act in the actress and screen presence ... And you spoke my mind...I feel like Ranveer is somebody just by his presence i can feel right, i can never be down !! I hope Deepika protects him , because she is the only hope and honestly deepika too is a great personality ! She has evolved
