One thing I would like to add is I am an owner of a 2020 xc60 with the base sound system and in my opinion after some tweaking of the bass/treble and equalizer the sound system is really good, but is just lacking the punchy bass of having a dedicated subwoofer (instead it has 4 woofers) The clarity and crispness of the speakers is fantastic though and that especially shows when listening to acoustic and classical music, and other things that aren't too deep bass heavy like rap music, that being said a lot of rap sounds good too but it's not gonna knock your socks off like B&W. My guess is that it would end up in B tier
If at all possible I'd love to hear a review of the 2017-2020 Lincoln Continental Revel Ultima sound system as I'm considering it as an alternative to a used S class, overall Lincoln is easier to live with due to the proximity to dealerships for me but I don't want to sacrifice sound quality to the point where I'm unsatisfied with my system. I was disappointed in the base model Lincoln system but I'm having trouble sourcing a local Lincoln with the ultima.
will you get the opportunity to test the 6 speaker system in the c300? on another note. definitely noticing that preferred V sound that you like with the personal sound profile. Definetly makes sense why you prefer the Burmester and Bowers&wilkins over Bang&Olufsen. I bet you'd really like the Audi 10 speaker. If you want that system experience where the base system is really solid and the upgraded system is just straight S tier. Back to back some Bang&Olufsen Audis to the Audi 10 speaker. they still use that classic recipe, of really good manufacturer systems and even better name brand. The video was fantastic and in depth as always.
eh I heard it in an E class and it's really not recommendable. If you're a taxi driver who listens radio then yes. But the burmester is a huge step forward
@@v12-s65 does the E class have the same 4 door drivers, center, and right side front bass woofer? Here in the states it is branded as Burmester. The way you can tell is plastic grilles and un branded, empty tweeter holes. I tested it in a C class and it was pretty bad. But I’d say ok for most listeners. The 3D system was much better and I actually quite enjoyed it which was a pleasant surprise for me as someone who doesn’t typically like Burmesters tuning. I definitely want to see Charlie’s opinion on that system. I’d love to see him test BMW hifi and Audi concert as well.
@@Skeppyberry Yeah they are identical. Also the burmester surround (if we are talking w213 gen) are the same in c and e class. If you're talking newer gen burmester surround he did one for the CLE, which he rated S tier
@@Skeppyberry well that's not a burmester system haha but base audio. It's pretty bad and hasn't improved with newer gens. The current w206 burmester is a bit better though than w205 and w213 surround
Usually surround modes add tinniness to the music, make it sound artificial. Pure is the flat EQ with no “additives.” It could sound better to some people but usually that’s not the case
I can’t imagine that the cla has a sub in the back and midbass in doors that would be a no no for me because u can be sure that bass will be worse compared to the GLB.
@@Niclas0299 as far as I know, CLA has midbass speakers in the doors. You are right, not as good as in the higher end models that have midbass in the firewall.
@@Niclas0299 how can you be sure? It's not an earth shattering meridian reference from 2015, but for its class pretty well. The CLA, A, GLA, GLB use the identical set up
It would be cool to see a volvo base sound system test. curious to see which tier it would be put into

Yeah ! Should be pretty interesting how good sounds the 10 speaker with sub base audio
I would love to see a new X3 with the Harman Kardon to see how it does!
I had a glb 2022 with Burmester, it sounded very good but it had some noise on the left back door. Otherwise it sounded great and clear
Next Mercedes e class plz❤
Hi Charlie, please add some vocal samples as well in your testing. Thank you.

why don't you test the burmester systems on surround mode but pure? Don't you think that gives the most potential out of it?

Is it the same sound system found in the CLA 45s amg ?
technically identical. However it has a smaller cabin
Has the cla woofers or door midbass and sub ?
