Stay away from Mercedes GLB series. I bought a Glb250 in 2022 and i sold it last month, couldn't stand it anymore. Six months after picking up the car, the car computer module failed, needed a replacement from new parts shipped from Singapore. Needed two new brake pads at 30k. Two tyres leaked and needed to be replaced. Engine problem when it was only 2 yrs old. Gear box problem right after engine problem fixed. Back light box flooded with water, needed replacement. Every now and then, sensors misjudgement in highway driving, momentarily locked the two right wheels. Last and not least, the service of Brisbane Mercedes is not helpful at all, at one stage, staff there offered a 6 weeks wait for the car service, although I expressed I was concerned about the car safety. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a car! Glad to say goodbye to Mecedes-benz. A reminder not to be fooled by brand names. It means nothing.
I had my Audi repaired and complained to the mechanic about the connectivity issue and jerky engine. He told me that Mercedes A and B series have even worse problems, with frequent malfunctions and high repair costs, coming in twice a year. In comparison, mine was just a minor issue.
Not sure i'd describe mercedes as typical minimalist interiors lol. They are they kings of gaudy purple lighting and infotainment UI's that look like they're from Windows XP media centre.
These are underrated and the 1.3 lt gors well. It has features that a couple of years ago were onpy available on the GLS. The augmented reality in the satnav is an example
Over priced German junk if you ask me. Sorry but Mercedes Benz is a shadow of its former glory. They are so cheaply built nowadays. I’m a mechanic in Melbourne & I fix these things day in day out. They fall apart like you would not believe once they get upwards of 90,000-100,000ks on the clock.
One great feature is the ability to have more than one phone connected at once. So if either phone rings the Bluetooth will pick it up. And its Apple Carplay and Android auto wirelessly
Great detailed review of the face lifted GLB 200. I’ve just ordered one in the UK. Would have love a bit more power and all wheel drive but we only get this or the GLB 35 in petrol form and my budget won’t stretch to the GLB 35. I also don’t do the mileage for a diesel version.
Not really.., no real premium options offer compact 7 seater with these features @ this size.. this engine is like more durable engine also Nissan-Mitsubishi-Renault design…
Your prices are too high, i find it weird that its price is almost comparable with its price in argentina (75k USD). And we have insane taxes. Basicaly half of the price are taxes. One for you and another for the state
Auto lane change only works if you are travelling over 80km/h on a highway. You were doing 70. I have one of these and the amount of misinformation and disinformation in this review is ridiculous! Like you don’t show the kick sensor to open the boot which people are going to use daily but instead testing handling at 130 km/h, exactly the thing a 7 seater SUV is built for! And the how fast it goes in reverse…
Hey paul i think mercedes have changed it and the standard range is now the glb 250 and the AMG as the top spec i dont now what has happed to the 200? please correct me if im wrong
Paul, great review. Unfortunately this is a very expensive car that does not even do all things well. I think I would rather stick with Mitsubishi Pajero Sport... get most of the things done.
Who can you mess up a design of a small car like this. l would understand if the size is too big to make it sexy but a small SUV. There is no excuse for this bad design.
Wow didnt show kick sensor as though this is some MB feature not available on cars much cheaper, why the hell do you need to do over 80 for a feature to work also. Ive got a feeling you bought 1 of these overpriced pieces of crap and are now trying to justify what is clearly a very bad decision simply because of badge snobbery, for ur info MB reputation for quality/ reliabilty got flushed down the toilet yrs ago and are now rated at the bottom of many reputable guides around the world.
Fake exhaust but at least it's not an electric car pretending to be a combustion one!! I will only drive an electric if I have no choice. Combustion engines all day long. I have the BMW Gran tourer but looking at GLB35! Keep up the great work

You know I have met two South Africans with the same feedback on the GLB. Guess there is something wrong in the Mechanical side...
Used to mean a lot but now its absolute shiteheap!Mercedes lives in a lala land!Wouldn't take it if they giving them for free!
Exact same issues I’m having! 😮
German reliability🎉

Haha the Windows XP media centre reference made me lol. So true
My wife used the ‘contact us’ thing that all these videos promote as we were in the market for a new car. She never heard back. 🤷♂️
Me too....

It’s basically a $30000 car with a merc badge🤷🏻♂️
example?
Flynn.

@@flynn7452 that is 100% correct and most mercs nowadays. I own one. Plastic crap
I think you can leave out of all car reviews going forward saying that it’s a push button start. It’s not necessary anymore

Don't touch M.B. products, with reliability ratings at the bottom with Jeep.

I bet those AC control buttons flex and creak.
That little pad in the middle was where the infotainment controller was on the pre facelift.
Paully has finally given upon fitting in the 3 row!😂 Manufacturers need to up their game. some of these are just sad 7 seaters
One great feature is the ability to have more than one phone connected at once. So if either phone rings the Bluetooth will pick it up. And its Apple Carplay and Android auto wirelessly
Wow and that's its best feature, lmao you're easily pleased and it only costs $75,000 plus orc

Why didn’t you go with bmw x1?
In SUVs like this I really hope the 3rd row seat is optional to have it is potentially a waste of cargo space for something you'd use once or twice
It is optional
So many better options out there for that money.
Like what would be a good alternative?
@@pierce.ireland to name a few models from one manufacturer perhaps Mazda CX5 CX60 CX9 CX90

2:30 saying “dual FAKE exhaust”sounds so much better.😅
Here in Asia, we have a GLB180 option... Using the same 1.3L (Renault/Nissan) engine but with an even smaller power output...
I really like this car like over a Tiguan
Keen to see the new Swift Hybrid review. Not an exciting car but definitely one of the better value ones I think.

Does that use the 1.3T from the Nissan Qashqai?
Great review, thank you.
2024 gls review please
Please do an AMG review 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Never wasting my money on benz

75000 for the FWD version is insane

Got a review of the Ascent Sport coming on Thursday.

Lol, Ive never seen such a comment section of a luxury German brand full of negative comments. Look at BMW X1 next door..... Mercedes is in trouble
Thanks
Mercedes-Benz still has a user interface design language that resembles Windows Vista.
That road noise is so bad.
Review the Toyota fortuner
$75k plus on road for 1.3 L ....lol
This thing would barely move with more people in it
What garbage for $75k
Build quality has been rubbish in recent times.

No third-row sitting in the review?
It’s not for adults. I couldn’t even get a leg in there. I’d say 10 year olds at a squeeze.
