Hello everyone, first of all thank you to everyone for their kind words of support after my community post the other day. My management have been taking care of my channel recently. I’m struggling emotionally at the moment after a traumatic loss but wanted to keep my promise to my lovely BB’s and upload videos while I’m away. This is one of favorite Elvis songs and they do more than justice to it. Elvis would approve.
Hi Barry, Birks here from Texas. Love your comments. I play and sing in a Dead cover band. What I'm amazed by is their ability to hit spooky beautiful intervals which adds so much color to the chords like 6ths, etc. It is so hard to find those notes vocally, at least for me anyway. My ear takes me to chord tones. Reminds me of Andrews sisters and Manhattan Transfer. They do it so effortlessly and pitch-perfect. A close second is Home Free, check them out. Avi sings with them at times.
The Elvis version was my wedding song. After a painful divorce, I couldn't listen to any version of it, until I found the PTX one. They redeemed the song for me. I do believe Kevin arranged this.
Kevin did arrange this. It's one of the few songs that they do without any beat boxing.

Simply perfect! I am a Elvis fan for 61 yrs but this is right there with him.
It's so nice that PTX never ruins any song they sing, but make it better. They truly stayed true to this one with a little PTX thrown in.

I never cared for anything Elvis. THEN, PTX did this cover and I'm absolutely in love with it now. I would choose this version in my wedding if I weren't already married. As you say Barry, it's PERFECTION.

My absolute favourite.
Everything they touch they show utmost respect to the original, polish it, update it and bring back to and past its original perfection.
I love this one especially because their close harmony is so tight and blended so well - one of the beauties of a Capella but rarely done this well. They have the ethereal qualities of original a Capella singing performed in churches and pulling in the overtones/harmonics.

These 5-part harmony arrangements are probably my most favorite, as a (former) singer. Run to You, Mad World, Silent Night, Can't Help Falling, Take Me Home, Light in the Hallway, When the Party's Over... 🔥 They are exquisite, but never seem to get enough love. Taking into account that I'm #TeamKevin and amazed by everything he can do, something about hearing him sing makes me indescribably happy.

Never liked this song before but PTX just work their magic. I've also never fully heard the lyrics, and the way Mitch sings it puts another spin on it, sounding more like a song about forbidden love when it asks "would it be a sin?" Which isn't the tone I thought it had before.
Pentatonix... making you fall in love with songs you hated and ruining you for the originals you did love... since 2011. Lol.

If you've ever seen the movie Blue Hawaii, you hear Elvis singing a different version than the one he released on record (both the single and the album). That version was a little slower and almost a cappella, with just a music-box like background. I've heard that Elvis intended the movie version to be the official version, but RCA wouldn't allow it. As a result, Elvis' preferred version remained unavailable on official records until long after Elvis had passed. I believe that Pentatonix based this arrangement on that movie version, which was BY FAR the superior version to the record version. I think Elvis would be very proud of his preferred arrangement being covered so magnificently!

@@i.luv.2.teach.78 strange that you mention oatmeal, I’ve been eating that the last few weeks after a year or so of not having it but I call it porridge.
Strangely my appetite wasn’t affected by my mystery illness. Even after sleeping for almost 24 hours I was able to eat and continued to eat full meals each day even though I was sweating and just going straight back to sleep. So no, my smoked cod and chips went down very well.

I had an appointment today with the Pain Clinic. I need to get an MRI of my spine. I am terribly clostrophobìc (not spelled correctly) so I'll be getting a "Happy Pill" and I hope it works very well.

I saw your information above about your community channel and I did not look at that before, I have been missing out. I am so sorry about your loss, it is never easy. We missed you Barry I always love your reactions and still waiting for Angelina's or some call her AJ "I Put A Spell On You" hope it is one you have prerecorded. She has been busy lately since she has signed with Republic Records, She has put out two originals one dealing with the loss of a loved one "Million Miles" and one rather Jazzy upbeat song "7th Heaven" and a new cover of Adele's "All I Ask". She is not so little anymore over 6'1" at 15. Oh and was not able to go through your community channel as well as I would like but I am yes to all of it, funny little videos, your music, your cats your friendships, bringing a friend to react to a video is always fun. You know there will always be a few haters but you have many more that love you, always remember that. I did not even know your community channel was so active, talk about it on your reactions a little.
Speaking of smoky eyes, should have seen mine a bit ago. At the grocery store, heavens open up about the time I check out, stood at the doors for a bit, young man in his 20s (probably) stood beside me and said, "We picked a bad time to leave." I stood there a second, looked back at him. smiled, and said, "Live like you are dying, right?" and I walked my happy butt out into an Alabama downpour leisurely pushing my buggy (that's a shopping cart) in front of me, Barry.
I wasn't half-way to the car when he catches up to me, laughing as he passes me by, "We're getting soaked, but I love it!"
I did get soaked, went by Cierra's store to bring her and Roy a sub I had bought them, they looked up when I went in (still raining) and died laughing. Not only was I drenched, I had two black eyes from my makeup running. Roy passed me a roll of paper towels and the bathroom key.
