I have been saving my hard plastic rolls to turn into dice towers to give out but I love how these are cardboard. It looks like I can use those in my garden as plant starters now. Compact it with nutrient-rich soil, press together, and bury the whole spool with 3 or 4 seedlings.
How are you turning the plastic spools into dice towers I have a ton with nothing to do with
I am currently printing off some drawers for my hobby paint station in the red filament on the neptune 3 and it is absolutely amazing! Can't wait to try the rest of the colors out

I’ve printed all the free Eastman files available, amazing work. The easiest, most complex looking prints, they almost always come out perfect!

Looks pretty good! Any idea if they are white labeling or if they are producing in house?
It'd be perfect that filament manufacturers put/print weight of empty spool on the spool itself ;) It'd be useful to have this information around for better calculation of remaining filament on the spool... And I know, I can weigh empty spool myself, but barely have same filament twice ;)

So with recently switching to PLA that comes with cardboard spools, i would suggest getting a spool holder that has bearings. The friction is much higher than that of plastic on plastic. (A bearing spool holder is good idea on its own anyways)
Maybe you can print something for that spool hole :)
I really like Elegoo filament. The PLA+ and PLA Pro work well. I am still testing the PETG types to see how well they work.

What would I print? GUITARS!!! I absolutely love 3d printing guitar bodies and hope to find some more styles out there to snag and do! Just something about being able to print a usable object like that it just brightens my day every time I do one :)
Saw that on their site. That's an amazing price and I'd love to jump in it but I've mostly been using PLA+. Heck, I might jump on it anyway. Spools look like Overture spools.
I got into 3d printing right around the end of the era where you could get a roll of ZYLtech PLA for like... $13 shipped in the US. Then the world happened, and well... here we are.😭
Hopefully they offer a 5-pack of the same color in the future, since everyone has their color preferences, and different filaments often require different settings.
I ordered this bundle at the same time as my Neptune 3, I got my printer early August, still haven't gotten my filament, I've contacted Elegoo about it twice now and gotten two different responses, first one they said the filament bundles were expected to ship late august, even though I've seen some other people had already gotten them, the the most recent one said that it should've been delivered with my printer and that they had contacted the courier that delivered it and needed 2-5 business days to investigate, that was on 9/21, so yea, looks like I'm potentially out 70 bux.
man i cant thank you enough for introducing me to the Neptune 2s it gave me a hek of problems at the beginning " most of them are caused by me " xD
but now oh god i'm loving the quality out of it, people on Tiktok keep asking me about it .

I've been using IIID Max and been getting pretty good prints with then. About $120 USD for 10 rolls.
I've mine in the post, bargain price! A bit annoyed as I had the new Neptune Printer on pre-order that was due to be sent this month and I'm still waiting on the Saturn2 FEP and the 8K resin. It looks like Elegoo is partially shipping stuff which means I'm going to have 4 seperate DHL orders and need to try and have somebody home to collect them on 4 different occasions as they dont tend to leave things at your doorstep over here in Ireland.

Uncle Jessy, thank you for this video I will have to try this PLA. DO you know if they make a PLA + yet? Also I need your help. I downloaded a Ghost off of Thingiverse, which I print vertically. It all prints great, up until it does the top of the hands and the top of the head. When finished you can see the spiral print, which, looks lousy after everything else looks so good. Any suggestions to fix that? My printer is a Longer LK5 Pro bty. Thank you sir in advance!!

All the layer lines in hard to get to places. I'd do it in resin. I only use my pla printers for plain or easy to sand prints. Colors don't matter since you have to fill, sand, and paint anyway!

Hey Jessy thanks for the deal notification! Does this work in the Bambu AMS by chance? That will help determine if I want it to be honest.
I've not had great luck with many cardboard spools in my Bambu AMS, unfortunately. Some of them do work a bit better than others but I'd use one of the many printable spool winders to transfer it to a traditional plastic spool.
What was your layer height and nozzle size for batman?

Only used the one role of blue so far, but My Neptune 3 Stopped multiple times because of kinks on the spool!
Overture frequently has specials on their less popular rolls of filament for 12$ each on Amazon. Just a heads up for anyone who likes having their filament next day like me lol
I've had nothing but bad results with Elegoo Filament, it may be cheap but theyve sent me multiple tangled rolls, and just material that will not stick to my print bed.
After switching back to the stuff I normally buy I stopped having problems right away, may just be a one off with me and 5 bad rolls but, I highly recommend against Elegoo Filament.

Just reading through the comments and I have to say, do it! I love mine and I use it for practical prints as well. I needed pipe connectors, it would have run me $70+ for all I needed. I printed them out for less than $8 (half a spool.) It took 2 days so not a rush job, but it was more than worth it.
I’m a stay at home mom and have been wanting to get into some hobbies to hopefully sell to get some sort of income, and came across your 3D printing videos, I’ve been in the process of making little charms made with polymer clay as well with some shrinky dink work, but I’ve noticed that buying a bunch of keychains with the links can get pretty pricey, so I wanted to make a purchase of a 3D printer to make the keychains with the links to hopefully save some money I. The long run, and not having to wait for the order to come in the mail, I cannot find any videos or descriptions of how to make them though!! Help please 😅😅
TBH you're better off buying the keychain bits. You can get the right sized split rings dirt cheap direct from china and then get a roll of cheap chain to go with it to make your bases. You'll want the metal for your project, as it will have the strength and flexibility needed, and will be a lot cheaper in the long run than trying to 3d print something that really isn't the right shape for it.
