You CAN lose the Infinity Fight, but its almost impossible. Saw a video once where a guy managed that by leveling the whole party to max level and giving them the best equip and stuff + a LOT of rng happend so they could do enough damage. But sadly, you will only earn a GameOver from that.

BoF4 was one of the most tragic games I played. Mami's death shattered my heart and Elena's left me traumatized. That animal sacrificing itself on the ruins' entrance was tragic as well. Personally I think it's the saddest BoF game.

Oh and there's the DQ's Good Ending, which is contrary to it's name, not really. Also Death Evan was an artificial god. I'm not sure about Tyr who, as far as I remember, was supposed to be Deis's sister. Perhaps Deis and Tyr were summoned from another world. But then there are other things that may contradict my theory, like when did the windians got their power to become birds? If this is the first,then why Nina doesn't seem to be able to transform? she would have saved a lot of traveling by that means, or perhaps she was just not the right age and problem solved haha. After that, the many future incarnations of Ryu and Nina that married, caused the decline of such power until windians reached the state of mini wings presented in BoF3, which would be the chronological last.
Jesus, they turn Elina into an hentai reject monster, but apparently for censors a decapitation of an evil dude is somehow worse? What the shit? (Not saying that they should've censored Elina, I'm just saying cuting out the Emepror's Death makes no goddamn sense).

Why do Capcom have an obsession with characters called Ryu? There's the guy from BoF2 (and possibly the rest of the franchise), Street Fighter, and apparently Phoenix Wright is also called Ryuichi in Japan.

Perhaps they wanted to give a main character an awesome nickname, and what would be more awesome than a name that translates to dragon? Mark down yet another person annoyed at the lack of suitable punishment for Yuna. If you're interested, there's a Breath of Fire 2 novelization I really enjoyed called War of the Demons which includes (among many other poignant moments) a fitting end for that slippery bastard. I definitely recommend giving it a read. The other, better-known character named Yuna is one of my favourite heroines, and THIS Yuna blackens her name worse than Final Fantasy X-2.

You had a rapist fish (or at least one that should be arrested for gross sexual imposition) and an evil man who fully intended to torture more people like Elina pretty much let loose on the population. You should take a look at Shadow Hearts. It's and rpg set on the 1910s about a foul-mouthed demon hunter who harness the powers of the monsters he defeats to turn into a demon like creature (kind of like Ryu). While chasing an strange warlock, he stumbles upon a mysterious girl with holy powers, and gets forced to protect her from a dark organization. At first he reluctantly oblidges, but things get personal later on... The story is fairly good. It's interesting to see how well they manage to mix asian and european folklore with pre-WWI history. Also, it has multiple endings
Aww you missed where when you was fighting your friends and tried using an item to help them, if Nina is still alive she'll comment that you're still in there somewhere, which just makes it even sadder since you're unable to break free or weaken yourself enough to allow them to defeat you. :
BOF5 is a pretty good game actually, it is extremely different though, but the overall story is well written and the game has a very interesting system to work with. But it does not feel like a BOF game, more like an experiment that got the BOF name. BOF6 though..... Yeah that is shit on a stick....

We need a breath of fire IV 2 , Yuna managed to create gods but somehow ended up using dragon's aura and summoned Fou Lu in the world too, Yuna wants to capture Ryu and Fou Lu in order to create the perfect gods by using them as a sacrifice, you have to destroy the gods created by Yuna in order to gain power (no, you are not the dohvakiin from skyrim), then in the end Fou Lu and Ryu fight Yuna together in order to correct the world, Fou Lu would have fullfilled is vengeance for Mami and Ryu would have saved the world he love, but most importantly.... WE WOULD BE ABLE TO FINALLY FUCKING KILL THAT BASTARD !!! Best ending ever :3

Most JRPGs start with an intro that either stokes the curiosity or the emotions. BoF4 starts with a princess being told off by her escort to lug back some massive ship parts, and then managing to fall into the only, uncovered, BIG, hole in the whole desert around her. Congratulations, Nina!
Not sure how that contradicts "most JRPGs" and unless you meant the cinematic intro which was also there, the opening with the Sand Dragon's case pretty much served that purpose. And good luck trying to keep your sanity and sense of perspective after hours of being in a desert, winged humanoid or not her case was pretty realistic.
A bad ending that stuck me the most was Golden Sun's. After about an hour or two, you literally cause the incoming downfall of the world. Yet they ask you if you want to do it or not. If you refuse and leave..well you left the world to its end

Reminds me of the bad ending in Tales of Symphonia Dawn of The New World. To get a bad ending when you fight Lloyd and Marta win the fight and you get a bad ending. Problem is their stats are set to like level 50 yours will be based on you own stats so if say you had made use of the grade shop and were gaining crap tons of exp you can kill them in one hit and they do only 1 dmg to you per hit. It took them about 11-13 min to kill me, while I was idling.
I also can confirm that Deis is in fact Bleu. In the EN translations for BoF and BoF2, her name was changed to the latter. In the original translations and script, her universal name is Deis.
I'm a fan of Yokai Watch, so when I first saw that scorpion thing i freaked out, because it looked as if someone went back in time to gather traditional Yokai artwork to base his fanart off of, but he undershot it, and when he was in a business meeting trying to fit in he accidentally dragged along some erotic fanart of Noko giving birth with him and the developers of this game were like "we love this". I watch too much Game Grumps.

I wonder what happens to Elina after the 'good' ending. Did her body dissapear? If all gods are gone, that seems like a possibility. And not to nitpick on a game that I'm also hating (and ironically, I've grown into because of your rant against it, but then I just curiosity grew and went into a (non-fanboy level) empathy), but Yuna's atrocity sound reminiscent of what happened in the True Lab of said game... Don't want to atract the fanbase, but once you get into it, you see resemblances with any other game, in a way or another. You considered doing a CBE on the third game? The first three games are more or less chronological to each other as they share a large number of plot points and the main antagonist is more or less universal. The third entry also ties together all of her crimes, and the bad ending is rather disturbing when you think about it.
Nina always returns without a memory of the past heroes(your protagonist or you call Ryu throughout the years)she joined in the past is she even the same Nina we know In Bof, Bof2, Bof3? And she lost all her Overpowered spells after that

It's and rpg set on the 1910s about a foul-mouthed demon hunter who harness the powers of the monsters he defeats to turn into a demon like creature (kind of like Ryu). While chasing an strange warlock, he stumbles upon a mysterious girl with holy powers, and gets forced to protect her from a dark organization. At first he reluctantly oblidges, but things get personal later on...
The story is fairly good. It's interesting to see how well they manage to mix asian and european folklore with pre-WWI history. Also, it has multiple endings

BOF5 is a pretty good game actually, it is extremely different though, but the overall story is well written and the game has a very interesting system to work with. But it does not feel like a BOF game, more like an experiment that got the BOF name.

We need a breath of fire IV 2 , Yuna managed to create gods but somehow ended up using dragon's aura and summoned Fou Lu in the world too, Yuna wants to capture Ryu and Fou Lu in order to create the perfect gods by using them as a sacrifice, you have to destroy the gods created by Yuna in order to gain power (no, you are not the dohvakiin from skyrim), then in the end Fou Lu and Ryu fight Yuna together in order to correct the world, Fou Lu would have fullfilled is vengeance for Mami and Ryu would have saved the world he love, but most importantly.... WE WOULD BE ABLE TO FINALLY FUCKING KILL THAT BASTARD !!!

I believe this was their way to say this one is the chronological first of the series, considering that by becoming mortals, the dragon gods became the dragon tribes, also Death Evan was an artificial god, I'm not sure about Tyr who, as far as I remember, was supposed to be Deis's sister. Most JRPGs start with an intro that either stokes the curiosity or the emotions. BoF4 starts with a princess being told off by her escort to lug back some massive ship parts, and then managing to fall into the only, uncovered, BIG, hole in the whole desert around her. Congratulations, Nina!
Not sure how that contradicts "most JRPGs" and unless you meant the cinematic intro which was also there, the opening with the Sand Dragon's case pretty much served that purpose. And good luck trying to keep your sanity and sense of perspective after hours of being in a desert, winged humanoid or not her case was pretty realistic.
I know BO5 Dragon Quarter is a weird one, but boy, did I love that game. And the story is amazing as well.

A bad ending that stuck me the most was Golden Sun's. After about an hour or two, you literally cause the incoming downfall of the world. Yet they ask you if you want to do it or not. If you refuse and leave..well you left the world to its end

Reminds me of the bad ending in Tales of Symphonia Dawn of The New World. To get a bad ending when you fight Lloyd and Marta win the fight and you get a bad ending. Problem is their stats are set to like level 50 yours will be based on you own stats so if say you had made use of the grade shop and were gaining crap tons of exp you can kill them in one hit and they do only 1 dmg to you per hit.
It took them about 11-13 min to kill me, while I was idling.

I also can confirm that Deis is in fact Bleu. In the EN translations for BoF and BoF2, her name was changed to the latter. In the original translations and script, her universal name is Deis.
The ending is positive yet realistically bleak its relatable I hate it and love it because of how understandable it is

I'm a fan of Yokai Watch, so when I first saw that scorpion thing i freaked out, because it looked as if someone went back in time to gather traditional Yokai artwork to base his fanart off of, but he undershot it, and when he was in a business meeting trying to fit in he accidentally dragged along some erotic fanart of Noko giving birth with him and the developers of this game were like "we love this".

And not to nitpick on a game that I'm also hating (and ironically, I've grown into because of your rant against it, but then I just curiosity grew and went into a (non-fanboy level) empathy), but Yuna's atrocity sound reminiscent of what happened in the True Lab of said game... Don't want to atract the fanbase, but once you get into it, you see resemblances with any other game, in a way or another. Maybe it's just me, or it's a normal thing but noone wants crossreferences everywhere?

The first three games are more or less chronological to each other as they share a large number of plot points and the main antagonist is more or less universal. The third entry also ties together all of her crimes, and the bad ending is rather disturbing when you think about it.
Aside from Yura still alive in the end, it was all great.
