Creepy Bad Endings: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 23 พ.ย. 2024
- This is basically the first part of a double-length video. The sequel of the game featured will be covered in the next episode of Creepy Bad Endings.
Bad Endings. I don't know about anyone else, but they terrify me. Just when the hero(es) thought everything was finally right, just when it looked like peace had finally returned to the world, something happens that, at best, creates a bittersweet victory and, at worst, spoils everything and the enemies win, despite everything that happened throughout your adventure. Bad endings don't give you any second chances, you screwed things up for everyone and you must pay dearly...

solar eclipses are around 7 minutes long, does this mean aria of sorrow canonically takes place in the time span of 7 minutes
stop being cancerous the chronomage do it
atleast speedrunning this game now has a plot
When Soma Cruz and Mina Hakuba are inside the eclipse, they are in Dracula’s spirit world, and I’m guessing that time doesn’t work the same way in a spirit world as it does in our dimension
Sucka
What, is this the DigiWorld, where Days = Minutes?
Despite being a teenager with only a giant magical sword, he fought off the castle's monsters easily
He starts with a knife on a fresh save, actually. If you haven't played this before, stop reading comments and find a copy right now. Should be on Wii U if it comes to that.
I know, I've played this game but I haven't beaten it. Once I beat Symphony of the Night I'll try to beat it again.
King Harkinian SotN is way longer than AoS, as you may have guessed. Then again, Hard Mode does do a decent job of changing things up and has its own rewards, so that might make up for it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it either way though.
+King Harkinian if you play symphony of the night fist, you will feel aria of sorrow like a cheap ass game.
King Harkinian
Just in time for DINNER
Japan will get a total solar eclipse in September 2035, their first one of this century, nice accuracy
I'm pretty sure that after the idea of the castle inside the solar eclipse was created, Iga googled the info about the full solar eclipses in Japan, picked the closest one and inserted the date in the story script. Or something like that.
It's abnormal not to think other way around, writers see the fact that Japan will get a total solar eclipse in September 2035, so they built the story on that :D
And if he's in high school in 2035...wonder if there's an uptick in parents naming their kid Soma right now... ;)
holy fuck, Im gonna name my kid soma (actually not, because he will be embarassed and bullied cause in Brazil soma means sum :( ) but its still a badass name
+Wheatley, o tijolo yes please do it and wait for 2035 let see what happen
"Sir, don't jump!"
"WHY?! My wife left me for another man, my child died, and I pledged a dollar to Mighty No. 9!"
"But whoisthisgit is making a video on Aria of Sorrow!"
"HELP ME OVER THIS FENCE, I GOTTA SEE THIS."
"I pledged a dollar to Mighty No. 9" You destroyed my sides. Did you get a Soul from them?
Sorry but I can't restore your comment, KJ Setser .
@@NotBenStiller yea it lets him instantly create a kidney and sell it
@@russiancheems2275 Cool.
I don't get what's bad about pledging a dollar to Mighty no. 9
Arikado? Hm... Alucard?
Nah, no way.
Nearly as good as Snake's disguise as Plisken in MGS 2.
Nonsense, Snake died on that Tanker two years ago.
Probably a nice throwback to previous games, eh?
Alucard was such a badass they included him in 4 castlevania games. I think that might be the record for the most appearing protagonist
@@yoonkong5789 aria of sorrow, dawn of sorrow and symphony of the night. What's the 4th game
I honestly think that the sorrow sub-series has the best bad endings of all Castlevanias. They might even be my favorite bad ends, period.
For some reason, i just find Somacula so cool, and his tough friendship with Julius simply reinforces that. Fighting him in Dawn's bonus mode is just so much more personal than any other Dracula fight i feel.
And hey, while we may not get any more Soma games, he and Shanoa still have a nice successor in Miriam!
Yeah miriam sucks i hate when they have some ditzy random women go fight hordes of enemies hollywood had vastly over glamorized their ability in combat especially against Dracula and like the forces of hell its annoying how they try to make them seem like these strong creatures makes playing OoE so boring
@@BestEndDB Well you sound perfectly well-adjusted.
"Isn't it weird how Death is so talkative in some games, but completely silent in others?"
Mmmm....think of it this way.
If Death is relevant to the plot in some way, he'll have dialogue with the protagonist.
If he is not, then he won't.
Well, he is a busy guy. Can't be arsed to talk to every Tom, Dick, and Belmont.
Haha. That's true.
Nor Cruzes and...Shanoas.
He just says stuff like "I shall cut you down!" "Why....you!" At least only to Shanoa.
I remember reading an old theory that Death might have lost part of his mind in the Battle of 1999, or had just changed his personality since then for some reason, which is why he doesn't speak in the two games set afterwards.
Either that or he just doesn't want to speak to Dracula's reincarnation. Maybe he just doesn't know what to say!
4:34 Apparently Graham also has a habit of smoking Dracula's "lettuce". LOOK AT THAT FACE AND TELL ME HE ISN'T STONED.
"Im a lot cooler now" thats the secret message you get for beating the game in hard mode
He says that in the regular game regardless. It’s no secret message.
I thought he says that line if you get all souls?
One of my favorite things about Aria of Sorrow is actually really silly and really minor.
Just repeatedly mash the down button. Soma looks like he's shredding wicked licks on a guitar, rocking the hell out.
The future: Where fur coats and BELL BOTTOMS are in style.
And don't even get me started on turtle necks.
(fangirl screams)
+VonFirflirch Soma Cruz is a living fashion disaster turned fabulous.
Inaccurate Prophecy I would so love to see his attire become mainstream when we do get to 2035.
That would really make me go outside more often just to chuckle internally ;)
It's set at a time where 70's styles has come back into fashion.
what a dystopian future that is
I find it especially lame that Death is full-on silent in this game, since we're essentially playing as the successor to Dracula. You'd think he'd have a lot to say to him !
I see I'm not the only one to come to that conclusion during this video.
To be fair you do fight Death really early in the game. He’s like the fifth boss, way before it’s revealed Soma is the reincarnation of Dracula. Now in Dawn of Sorrow? It is lame because Death ALSO doesn’t speak and yet he’s one of the last few bosses.
19:40
Yoko: You're like a younger brother to me.
RIP Soma. Friendzoned to death.
Even if she wasn't a love interest, Soma totally wanted to grab some of those titties.
Don't forget that the Succubuses in Dawn of Sorrow appear in Yoko's form, too. That could mean ANYTHING...
Solibrae III Succubi in Aria appear as an injured version of Mina. it fooled me so well my first playthrough, I thought I'd somehow screwed the ending.
Eh. Maybe Soma should do all those on the Persephone maids.
Seriously, what a vampire will do with a witch human? It wasn't Yoko who was frienzoned Soma, but Soma first. The vampires and dhampires are superiors than all others creatures. In More, God Dracula is the father of Soma and Alucard, who envoyed his zombie with some of his power, killing the body of the zombie. There are then Personnal Jesus, Alucard, and his brother, Aaron, Soma, born from a human mother AFTER Dracula was, is and will be a vampire. You know the Lord of Shadow story to understant where come from Dracula and Alucard, do not? If yes, you know all.
The real bad ending is to the franchise - its fate as a line of BDSM porno pachinko machines.
AdamEEntertainment GG.
"I hope to never use the whip again" - Julius Belmont
I don’t think I’m meant to like this

OK, you've gotta admit it, the Scene of the castle being Destroyed is awesome.
It's quite the Scene.
I really like Soma, he is my fave character next to Death & Alucard in the whole Castlevania series, his games where the ones i had the most fun playing! The SOUL mechanic is DAAMN AWESOME and when i found out you needed certain souls to get the best/worst ending, i was impressed, took me forever to figure out the Succubus one...i always thought it meant Lilith >_>;
Creepy bad endings has become so addictive
You said it right brother!
@@deutshsean8313 I've been on binge-watching all of them
@@johnestrada57 Like all of them? That's cooooool!
Same man
Graham looks a lot like Yoshikage Kira, does anybody else think that or am I just being an idiot?
He just wants a quiet life as the ruler of Castlevania.
my thoughts exactly
Well, Soma does get a Stand with one soul, and the Stone Mask is a JoJo homage, so it may be intentional.
i forget which game but one of them has a weapon that's literally just star platinum's rush attack
There is also a boss in Dawn of Sorrow who is inspired in Dio Brando, including his line "toki wo tomare". So, yeah there are some Jojo fans in Konami.
You didn't actually forget that you had a part in making the game. Lub Lub ate your memory of that time while you weren't looking.
Aria of Sorrow was my first Castlevania game ever, having been one of the first games I saw in Nintendo Power after I picked up a subscription for the first time. Since I was new to the series, I had absolutely no idea that the first ending was a bad one until much later when Dawn of Sorrow came out and I realized I missed out on a true ending.
This game has a very similiar mechanic like that one Shaman King game for GBA.
You need enemy / boss souls to progress.
You're making it look like Soma has the Claimh Solais from the beginning...
only if
but new game plus
That would be some shit.
"I have no combat experience... just this legendary sword I can swing super fast with just one hand. And I can control demon souls. And I'm more or less a vampire."
Put like this, Soma really comes off as some Gary Stu or whatever x)
This run is not clean. But that's hardly the point of the video anyway, so eh.
+VonFirflirch nah more like satima from one punch
When Soma says :"Inside of me, Dracula's power lies sleeping". I think of a cat that sleeps instead of Dracula himself.
@Tayebz Tayebz :3 Yea
Now I imagine a Cat wearing Drac's cape while sleeping Lmao
gee, do each reincarnation of dracula have to be drinking some wine and when the hero comes they throw it on the ground?
Paul Prichici got to be fancy when fighting your enemies
one day they hope that the hero slips on the drink as a prank

"My name is Soma Cruz, and I am a high school exchange student studying abroad in Japan" weeabo's dream life
My name is Soma Cruz. I've been held captive here since episode 1.
2:45 The question isn’t where he got those skills, it’s where he got that MASSIVE sword!
from his last playthrough
He got it in the Forbidden Area on his first playthrough.
He's on New Game +.
I know, it’s just jarring seeing him start out with them.
I just now realized... the true end theme is a remix of Bloody Tears.
I've played this game how times now?
2:07 i thought its already crazy enough that he has a knive with him....but *THAT* is one hell of a knive xD
I'm always wondering how npc in castlevania can walk in the castle without having any troubles compare to the hero of the game
They all had powers like arikado was alucard and Graham temporally had Dracula powers
You know what is a bad ending? Opening Retro Dracula hard boss chest and seeing food item.
OH GOD
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO REMIND ME
??
When Death dies, his sickle can still hurt you.
can you believe that i died that way
even in death he never stops the killing
I actually played through this game on an emulator, got the two other souls required for the good ending (I never picked up the three books, just got them by chance.), and beat (what I thought was) the final boss second try.
A shame that the true final boss for my playthrough is a game crash, because my save crashes at about this (19:13) point every single time.
Ok, is no one gonna talk about how fluffy Soma looks??
What ever happened to Aluc... I mean that one guy in black, I thought that maybe Soma would learn his real identity at the end.
:(
I'm so glad you did this cause I just started to play this game and didn't know there was a bad ending to this.
Just like Zero brang closure to the Reploid Arc, GBA bring closure to castlevania as well in its console
I love this game so much, and the bad endings are pretty tough to get in all seriousness. It's a challenging game however.
I was thinking about when the new Creepy Bad Endings video would come out, precisely yesterday, and now theres a new one... Love Castlevania :D
For those wondering: He's on a new game plus.
Wait, i was born in 1999 too, im i the re-incarnation of Dracula ?!
...Nah.
soma wasnt born in 1999 man
hes like 17 years old and the story happens in '35
Ha! Im older than Graham
People sometimes make up bullshit reasons to justify their actions. That's normal.
Soma is 18. Says so in the manual. Meaning he was born in 2017.
And for Dawn, which is a year later, in the manual for that it says he’s 19. I think it also says so in the in-game library?
2:44 Not to mention that big ass anime sword he just has for no reason.
lmao
I'm probably getting whooshed but you don't start with that sword. Would be funny though
Random Man Yep, r/whooosh. You can start with it in New Game+.
He starts with a pocket knife.
That means he went so see the Eclipse with a pocket knife, just in case something happens...
@@TheMobiusBR uhhh, Alucard tossed him one in the opening... i think. welp. time to replay it to check
Edit- NVM. Just and idiot Confusing the Sequel with the original. yeah, that was a bit weird i guess.
Never thought i would see a youtuber making a video of this game :D
When I watched the first minutes of the video I was like "humm, Arikado sounds familiar..." then Yoko goes "Alu...I mean Arikado" and everything makes sense.
If you're wondering, in Japanese Alucard = Arukādo.
"For God to be good, evil is an absolute necessity in this world"
I keep hearing this particular deepity, especially in eastern religion, but I don't think anyone's ever really tried to explain what they are trying to say.
Titan360 Well basically it’s like this, Without evil, everything would be good, and if there is nothing that isn’t good, the word means nothing. If there is no evil, there is no such thing as good, therefore God cannot be good.
The Bible has passages that reveal that God and the Devil are the same thing. That's the gist of that.
"Perfectly balanced, as all things should be."
~Thanos, 2018
A light will always casts shadow. The dark is only created by a lack of light. You cannot have light without the darkness to see it. You cannot have darkness without light to show where it lies.
-Xehanort, maybe.
Holy smokes I had a part in making this game?
I'm even more forgetful than I thought I was

Awesome! Aria of Sorrow is surely my favorite Castlevania Game! I just love it so much. About the same I feel for Dawn of Sorrow! Can't wait to see your next Creepy Bad Endings! :3
Graham actually looks loke Kira Yoshikage
I can't unsee that, he just wants a quiet life for fucks sake soma.
git, i've been waiting for this since you make the CBE about Harmony of Dissonance, THANK YOU SO MUCH
OMG 0_0 . That bad ending where Soma became fully possessed by Dracula, potentially turning him into a vampire, is disturbing and wrong in many ways. I'm glad that vampires never existed, otherwise that would have happened to me.
14:15
I can only imagine how people's jaws dropped when they say this scene when the game was new.
HOLY SHIT I JUST REALISED SOMETHING
IF SOMA IS 18 DURING 2035, THEN HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BORN IN 2017, WHICH WAS LAST YEAR (by the time I'm writing this, that is)
AND THERE WILL BE A TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN JAPAN ON THE 2ND OF SEPTEMBER 2035
WHICH MEANS IF A SOMA CRUZ IS BORN AND MOVES INTO JAPAN
_THEN THIS GAME MIGHT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE OMFG_

Favorite Castlevania game ever love this game and glad u talked about it
I never lost to chaos. but lost to Graham. Graham was always harder for me.
To me, it's another relatively easy bossfight that overstays its welcome. I can only avoid the same moves so many times before it gets tedious. A few potshots from being careless out of sheer boredom and boom! Dead.
I'd say the Chaos fight is much more hectic, so it helps staying focused.
This is my second favorite castlevania next to Symphony of the night
Despite being a teenager with little combat experience but the best weapon in the game, he fights off the monsters easily.
(and also basically being dracula)
i wish they would make another castlevania game #fuckonami
fuck onami?
- Dan Velhardt I think I should wooosh you, but I don’t know the joke either
How exactly is Soma studying aboard in Japan and Mina being his childhood friend?
Blame localisation changes!
They might've became friends online lmao
That moment when you realize that Alicard used Dark Metamorphosis
He actually used Soul Steal.
@@Rad1antGeneralZelcina there is difference between them?
@@lukaslam9802 Yes. Casting Dark Metamorphosis just gives Alucard/Akirado a red outline and you heal by killing enemies that shed blood. Soul Steal (the spell Alucard/Akirado used to protect Soma and Mina) steals life force that heals. Most likely they forgot what spell does what from Symphony of The Night and gave Alucard/Akirado a red outline then had him cast Soul Steal.
I call this game Symphony Of The Night 2
17:49 We'll the name is literally Chaos, soooo...
That bad ending might be terrible as fuck but at least we see a nod to Symphony of the Night's opening when Drac throws his goblet and pronounces "WHAT IS A MAN?"
wait why does he have a massive sword? id expect him to have a stick.
I tried playing a lot of castlevania lately, but for me, nothing can beat this game's soul mechanic

I find it funny I saw this after playing said game for 2 hours with no coordination.
9:29 Somehow, Lunar eclipse inside a solar eclipse

I got bad ending 9 times until i figured it out took me a while to find all the book you need is a succubus soul, giant bat soul, and flame demon soul can be obtained at succubus that giant guy and flame demon with that you will be able to become/to have the power of dracula battling the hunter(Julius) and defeating the final boss
I am HYPED I cant wait until the next video hopes that it cames quickly no rush ok take your time
The edning theme where Mina is talking to Soma is a version pf Bloody Tears.
16:19 asking someone to kill you, they promise to "😱wait o shit"
Graham: do you know the prophecy of 1999?
Soma: Of course I don't, that's like 1000 years ago? And before I came here I didn't even know Dracula existed?
God...
THIS GAME IS *EPIC*
ahh aria of sorrow one of favorite castlevania games
Git, i know this is off-topic but whats your opinion on the point-of-no-returns in PMD games? Theyre pretty BS when they have bosses at the end. God forbid you dont bring an entire bag full of reviver seeds...
They suck. I almost thought I was going to be stuck on Yvetal in the newest game forever.
Yveltal was bullshit, at least Primal Dialga had to recharge after using its signature move, but Yveltal can just spam it for days.
I haven't played any of the newest ones, but I think you're supposed to stun the bosses and put them to sleep and such with all the other seeds. That's how I beat crazy-wipe bosses without a dozen reviver seeds.
whoisthisgit Thank god for wonder mail
But what did Git play as? Who was his partner?
Also, SMD's postgame was awful. There's tons to do but barely any reason to do it. Thanks Nintendo for telling me who's at the end of this dungeon, I really wanted to have the *MYSTERY* cleared up ASAP. I swear to god, someone found a Monkey's Paw and caused this.
I just downloaded the game on my gba emulator but i got stuck so this video came just in time lol
Fun fact: solar claim actually weapon come from final book charlotte, it's called book weapon X (it's light element damage and single big sword come from inside book weapon X) / (portrait of ruin)
She also help Julius Belmont in 1999, I believe Jonathan Morris not death but accurately Julius Belmont is pupil Jonathan Morris a.k.a apprentice Vampire Hunter (Julius Belmont young age) before 1999. Maybe Jonathan Morris busy kill all minion Dracula and his another apprentice vampire hunters and member family Morris including Lecarde family in Europe (oh I forgot about Belnades family too)
"despite being teenager without combat experience" proceeds to obliterate everything with best weapon in game
Can''t wait for the next installment!
Dracula in Castlevania has more lives than Jason in Friday the 13th.
Normal.
That bad ending sorry I kept you waitng Dracula. I brought the whip just like you ask... let's get kinky.
I got the good ending by accident lmao, by the time I got to Graham's fight I was using the Flame Demon soul because of its width, the Succubus soul because of its convenience, and the Giant Bat one for obvious reasons. I never paid an ounce of attention to what the books said
Isn't it cute how the game tries to push you to ship Soma and Mina?
Don't worry, Mina is died now.
The true final boss looks like an H.R. Giger painting.😲😨

The Bad End of Dawn of Sorrow is EVEN WORSE... And ties into Julius Mode
I miss LubLub :-( how is LubLub doing? Will he ever come back for a short cameo or something?

Same, but it's been a couple years since he made that video, so this is a pretty good refresher to lead into a video about the sequel.
That was a boss analysis, not a proper Creepy Bad Ending video, although he did talk about the endings.
oh shit! I didn't know there was another ending to the game! I did though get the best ending in Dawn of Sorrow after being traumatized by the bad ones
I want to play this game BADLY!!!😣
So, if you don't collect all 3 Spirit Books, a bad ending is triggered. Is that right?
1st: Actually those books are hints of souls you need before you fight Graham at the Throne room.
2nd:If you don't equip yourself with souls of
(Red:Flame Demon)
(Blue:Giant Bat)
(Yellow: Succubus)
And defeat Graham. You'll get the normal ending with a dash of bittersweetness.
& 3nd:Bad ending will be triggered if you got wiped by the true final boss Chaos.
wouldn't it be crazy if they remade this game in IRL 2035?
