Somehow the sentences "He is very well behaved. He will beg me to take him for a car ride" side by side just makes Philip sound like the best spoilt kitty. He's trained his butler so well he doesn't even realise it.
Believe it or not, this isn't just dog behavior. This cat isn't acting like a dog, it's actually just acting like a well-loved cat. Cats can be very affectionate and attentive. My cats greet me at the door, follow me from room to room, chat with me, snuggle, can be picked up, come when they are called, and know tricks like sit, lay down, etc. People underestimate how social kitties can be.
People who have never had a cat will say cats love you just cuz you feed them. But when I give my kitty food, step away then call him to me, he will stop mid bite and come to me. He essentially chooses me over eating. So no, I don’t think he loves me just for the food 😊
Fr! Cats are very intelligent and affectionate. People often label them as a low maintenance pets and that's why there's lot of bad stereotypes around them, when they're well cared for they're the best buddies
Right! My cat even loved to play fetch and always knew the game is about to start when I said *Ready??* Her favorite things to fetch is her dolls, plastic straws and zip ties. She liked to lick/groom me like a dog would to show affectionate. She loved taking a walk with me for some adventure, just like a dog. Missed my Bubba big time 🥰
What confuses me a bit is how he talks about Philip being like a cat 10% of the time and just moments later talks about Philip wanting to drive or going for walks (obviously cats can want those things aswell, but they are definetly more dog-like behaviour)
He's like most cats I've ever had. They can be really interactive and all have diff personalities. They often turn out the way their owner raise and interacts with them. People have been amazed at how my cats behave. I've even been a foster to a rescued kitten that wouldn't come willingly near ppl without growling and after a month, he like to hug people and be held. They are awesome and loveable creatures, just like dogs.
You are so right when you say it depends on how their people treat them. If you treat a cat like it's aloof or stupid - that's ALL you'll see. Treat a cat with love and they'll give it back 1000 times 💞💕💗 Works with most every living person or animal we come across in life. _YOU get what YOU give!!!_
I've always "hated" cats. Loved dogs, but my son wanted a cat. Now we're getting ready to adopt one from a local animal shelter soon after the holidays. As the days go by I get more and more excited. As I gather more information about cats I realize that I didn't really hate them, I just didn't understand them. Now I can't wait to have one.
I've had many cats in my long life. Grey tabby cats and orange cats have got to be the best in my experience. I'm really happy for you and your son. Good on you for researching and for adopting!
@Flower Power I will second that motion every day for eternity. Especially the unscented litter part; human noses have five million scent receptors while Cat Noses have at least two-hundred million scent receptors. Think about it, whatever you smell at a level of 5 your cat smells at a level of multiple million times five. And the physical texture of the litter matters too. Also, what you feed the critters impacts the scent of their waste, just like it can with us humans. This place's bathroom is arranged such that I could place one litter box each side of toilet so we all do our body waste elimination in the same place: there have been a number of times in the 13 years I've had these two tabby fellows that they have followed me to the bathroom and I guess we did some kind of bonding ritual by all going together! 🤔😆But, yes, if at all possible have 1 more litter box than you have cats. And keep the litter box in different place than food and water. While it seems that dogs like to apply the scent of their environment to their bodies, cats seem to try to keep the scent of their environment off their bodies.
I'm so glad you're being open to liking cats! I've never understood why so many people say they hate cats, when most of these people have never closely interacted with a cat. How would they know?
He's not really dog like - he's full on cat. Regardless, this guy made a great choice in adopting this gorgeous ginger tabby. My first cat (as an adult) was also a full, ginger tabby - and he was the best cat ever! Don't tell my current cats though! Thank you for adopting this gorgeous cat! ❤
It doesn't get any better than having a cat in your life. Thank you for adopting him. He's having the time of his life and trust me it's all worth it to have a cat in your life.
I dunno, something better than having a cat in your life might be having two cats in your life; especially when they become buddies like the two orange tabby rescue fellows living here. 😺😸 And the black & white female and orange and white male I had in the 1990s.
Its really that simple! My baby i had to put down last year at 17 but the impression he made on my heart will last me all my life ! I believe another will come to me but he will always be special to me.

He had the loudest purr ever, especially whilst sitting on my head when I was reading in bed. He had us very well trained, he taught us how to understand and to respond to every one of his vocalisations😉. He gave us great joy and I think that he had a happy life with us.

See my dog was more serious but very affectionate. My orange is VERY aloof and also very affectionate. Both are needy for attention what I love! Pets are the best ❤
We have a rescue cat with only half an ear, a missing front tooth, a slightly squished head, sun burnt nose, who also on occasion suffers from terrible wind. He was rescued from near a prison. We love him to bits.
One of ours, a lovely affectionate girl used to have a flatulence problem. One time she went missing for about two weeks and returned home absolutely delighted to be back. She is a pretty young cat too and I have a theory that she was kidnapped to be someone else's pet but then farted her way to freedom. They couldn't stand the smell. But the strange thing is the farting stopped soon thereafter yet she has the same diet as our other cats and it had not changed.

What a sweet cutie!!!! You are so blessed, young man.
Kismet is what happened when you and Philip met one another. I have a cat-like-dog, but his litter mate is 100% cat. Coal and Edward are the brothers whom are loved beyond words. Thank you so very much for rescuing your boy. Maybe it's time to get him an adopted brother, too?! 😻
You two are adorable. Thank you wonderful human for adopting baby kitty.
I love your story
God bless you both🤍
What a good boy Phillip is! 🥰🐱❤
You hit the jackpot. Orange kitties are the best. Most have the greatest personalities & are pretty quirky. May you have many happy years together. Bless you for saving him!
I am so happy for you and for Philip. You two are meant for each other!
Philip loves u for sure...thank u for saving his life. I got an orange tabby many years ago at the shelter n he turned out to be the love of my life... They're the best...
What a gorgeous puddy tat little kitten Phillip is! Such a darling sweetheart of a four legged furry baby. So so so hugable, cuddlesome and kissable. I just love cats of all shapes and sizes and this baby cat kitten Phillip is simply a loving and affectionate daddy's baby! I am so happy that you have adopted him and given him a forever home and with TLC. You will find that your baby, kitten Phillip, will give you loads of love and warmth in your new life with him.
God Bless you and Baby Kitten Phillip
You got this cutie boy just in time!!! Thank you for adopting Phillip and giving him a great life!❤
Good for you and Phillip! My orange cat, George Bailey, was my soul mate and he made me laugh every day. He was also quite a character! ♥️♥️♥️
