It doesnt sound like the engine is spinning! Yes the starter is but not the engine.
The reason your piston isn't moving and you have no compression or spark is because your starter isn't turning over the engine the engine has to turn over in order to make spark so it's somthing with your starter

make sure you're hooking up your ground to ground at the starter and the peg on the starter make sure you hooking positive up to that to start it doesn't sound like it is turning over the motor so therefore it's either hooked up backwards or your starter chain is not on the starter you need to remove the cover and make sure the chain is on in to get spark there are plenty of videos on TH-cam explaining on how to do that but if you end up getting everything going and you do not have spark make sure your wires are tight and you have a good ground if you check the coil and it is not working then you could go ahead and replace that but if coil is good then it is your stator they do go out I have been working on stuff like this for a long time right now I am mainly doing with Hondas

That is a DC starter motor with permanent magnets. If the battery is backwards, the motor will spin backwards and the Bendix will not engage. Also the diodes that charge the battery from the stator in the alternator will get full power from the battery and will eventually burn up the coils. Most likely this will also destroy the voltage regulator. I am a retired electronics technician and I work on these things all the time.

did u check if the starter chain is still attached? Take the magneto cover off and have a look.

the little red and yellow that comes from the solenoid goes to a kill switch/power switch it opens the path for the for the power to come from the battery to the starter.

You need the solenoid to engage the starter before it spins you bypassed it all together

imports rok dude I knew and was cussing the video. OMG take the front cover off and see if the dang chain is attached to the starter.
It's not a chain its gears but if you need to take anything off to know whether or not starter is engaging when it sounds like THIS then just back away from machine! How many times is he gonna say green is ground😂or show solenoid with the starter nut empty saying everything is hooked up😂👍😲dude your gonna end up dead if you keep messing with stuff you know very lil about! Either research your projects on you tube well before or take a class good grief I've never in my life seen anyone do this wrong them seriously post the vid!
The harness on that poor quad was in perfectly working condition until you went crazy with your snips! LMAO the problem was the starter not turning the crank from the get go!

ok that a good answer the blue wire goes to.the starter button but you sold it and got what kind of.motorcycle? guessing ends up with wiring cut out that the system needs to start then engine!

All you have to do is join a metal wire to both of then circle things and that's it it should start up
those bolts sticking out of your cillinoud if you take a screw driver and connect them then it will star if there power
stator magnet not spinning, 1 of 2 things, your startor gear is stripped or it's hooked up backwards.

I had hell fixing the wiring problem on one of those 2 days ago, I got it spark but now the carb is having issues, im waiting on eBay to deliver the new carb

make sure you get protective riding gear also. my sister has a Honda 250 3 wheeler that I go over to her house and ride. I was teaching my son how to ride it, but he crashed into a tree and scraped up his arm really bad and my wife said NO MORE Wheeler for him. They are fun but can be Dangerous.

green goes in bottom left ,yellow goes in bottom right, white goes in upper left, and red goes in upper right.

I know this video is years old and you uabe no idea on what yiur doing yiu can tell i dont even know if yiu got this done but most of them wires are in the wrong place i really do hope yiu found out how and didnt give up its nice yiu wanted to find out how it worked but all i can say is in future write them down or take a photograph works both ways anyway all the best

hey I have one of those it suck but at start of vid you treid to start it I jump start mine so that sound is your nagitive goes on the block and positive goes on spark plug if you switch them they will make that sound I figured that out im 13

hey I seen your video and it's very similar to the one I have I have everything pretty much hooked up right from what I'm told the only thing that's wrong with it is a CDI box I don't know how to wire it what color goes to what and what to hook up to what if there's any way you can help me out I'll be great why just pretty much doing the same thing yours is doing but I have no spark CDI is brand-new and coil

. my cover came loos and cut the green and white wired i have no info but i do know its a 2 coil . dad said try you tube .i just want to try hooking them up . i have no cash and am scared to burn it up .i purchased all new assembled parts already and this happend.

sounds like the starter is spinning, but not engaging. this is why you have no spark, and no compression. Thumbs up on figuring out, and rewiring the system on the china quads. all looks great for wiring. but the starter is not cranking over the engine.

how to fix no spark if you changed out the spark plug and spark plug wire but still no spark I also turned the engine over but again no spark at all
maybe its your coil or stator.
1down4up but I can hear it and see the stator turning I took the flywheel cover off and looked at it and sure enough it was moving but I wasn't getting spark do you think it maybe the fuse I have an extra factory fuse that comes with the quad I checked the one thatd inside the quad and it looks OK no dark color like it was blown on the fuse I'm not sure tmmr I'm gonna take the extra stuff of it and just focus on the cdi , stator coil and the other thing that goes to the battery I forgot what it's called

1down4up not for me it's that it's a 70 cc China quad my first quad to fix in years but I fixed my dirt bike that had this problem because I broke the coil
but this quad is so complicated it has to much wires so I'm taking it all apart tmmr and I need a new battery because it's dead and it's been sitting for 3 years

Your power is backwards on the battery the starter is running the wrong way and you probable fried to voltage regulator

+1down4up you nearly had it, it was a problem with the motor itself from the inside, a chain going from the starter to the flywheel I believe that would make it start, I think that was Brocken or gone so the starter was just spinning by itself

Kimberley Perez sounds like either the solenoid is bad, or maybe the wires from your start button are mixed up or backwards at the solenoid

kinda hurt to watch. red/yellow is start switch for starter solenoid. I do know how it feels not to what what Items are so I will post a video of how to bypass everything on one of these for everyone

yea i was riding nd my quad turned off nd i went to start it nd it sounded like something was grinding then i kept doing it nd did that i changed the piston nd rings paid 15 on ebay nd worked but i got a new one i just gotta find out wat colors on the stator is power nd ground

21:10 I could be wrong but it looks to me like the red and yellow wire are the currents and the green one which is suppossed to be the ground is touching either one of those somewhere else and redirecting it through there.
I am color challenge so I have no idea what the real colors are, my wife was out bbqing today and i would stop the camera and ask her for help, the real good spark happened when the camera was off wow!! thats living on the edge.
I thought so because there was a green wire with a red line on it and you said you didn't know what that was - just wasn't sure if you were referring to the color or the function of the attached device. Gotta label or mark 'em somehow so you can tell them apart - until then it's just pointless fiddling playing russian roulette. xD

16:38 yeah man, gotta be careful when crossing wires on each other, especially when the battery is hooked. best is to unhook the battery first, then figure out what goes where, reconnect the cables and then hook the battery and try out if it works. you gotta have respect for electricity man, it does kill many people. I do encourage MacGuyverism but he knew what he was doing to the letter and used it to blow sh*t up. Precautions, man. Precautions! I had an electricity course once during apprenticeship and we learned to ground ourselves whenever we worked on electricity. There are special cables that you can hook onto your arm and then to a ground to do that.

hahaha I betcha! dude, ground yourself when you do this kind of stuff. there are grounding wires that you can hook to your arm and then to something that is grounded. Or you can stand on one foot all the time, but as soon as the second foot touches the ground or you connect your fingertips you'll have a human circuit ^^
