sounds like the Bendix gear on your starter is not engaging. Pull the starter and there is a little gear on the end. Lube the gear on the end and apply voltage while its not actually installed into the atv. observe the gear on the end of the starter when you apply voltage and the gear should shoot out. Right now it doesn't sound like the gear is actually shooting out.

I traded my old camera for it, and no I never got it running, after researching how much everything i need to get it running would cost me, almost $300 bucks I decided to just scrap this project and i am going to sell it for parts at my next yard sale i have.
check your coil and your cdi box and make shore all wires and everything is hooked up right and make shore the spark plug is fireing blue and not orange
Starter is not engaging the engine. Many of the Chinese quads have chain driven starters. No engine rotation means no spark, bad wiring or not. The box with heat sink is your voltage regulator. Wires from stator run to it, and 12vdc comes out. The other box is your CDI box for ignition. Pickup coils next to stator tell it when to spark, set advance etc. The plastic alarm box is junk, throw it away. You can rewire these, but it helps to have a schematic for the regulator and CDI unless you cut apart the original harness and reverse engineer it. The engines are actually really good Honda clones. Overall if you aren't a mechanic and don't like to tinker you should stay away from these as they require some expertise to repair.

The thing in the back is a fall off switch you will get no spark if it's unplugged

The switch is normally closed, so just removing it works the same as having the cap on.
i know you sold the quad but just that you know the starter dissent engage which means that the motor does't spin and spark plug don't sparks

if the safety switch in the back that wasn't connected you get a no start issue the stater produces spark and charges battery

That fussy need or I won’t get no spark I have a few of those quads and 10 volt fuse. It blows with a open curcit or a short. Just put a fuse in

Be careful with coils and cdi's from eBay! Had a few not work that were new.
